I've only smoked one joint to try man, I havent been smoking it. I want to leave it curing for a little while to see if the terps start to come the ought agyer chlorophyll and enzymes start to break down and release the Terps I'm hoping for anyway. So take our the boveda while curing?

do you get a headache from it ? Or just bad flavor?

I only use bovedas after cure and for long term storage or if I fuck up and shit gets too dry, they don't help cure, they are strictly for maintaining a properly attained moisture level in storage. Now I use grove bags, makes it almost fool proof. What are the drums made of? Plastic? Metal? Something in the barrels could be leeching or fucking with your terps? Just a wild guess. I'd try loosing the bovedas and using a different container. I have heard they can steal flavor, I personally haven't noticed that, but maybe mine just tastes that amazing 🤣 I kid, I grew a girl scout cookies and do not like the taste, and the smell is just ok... everyone's palate is different.
I use the bovidas to help regulate the humidity and I use them in gallon jars. I also have a hygrometer in there as well and I monitor it pretty closely both temp and RH in the jars.

I would. Grab a couple grove bags to try, you won't be disappointed, no bovedas required, no burping required... I still flip my buds periodically and I keep all the bags inside a cooler cause my house is very dry in winter and I'm nervous they will dry more since it's a breathable plastic... but haven't had it happen yet... some new age weed magic man.

That's exactly how I did it before grove bags changed my life lol. Big ass jar, big boveda, tiny hydrometer, perfect weed for my vape. Now I chuck one in my head jars if they dry too much from opening so often, and the grove bags stand alone with the bulk of it.

I'll have to try those ... how do they work for long term storage like a year or maybe even a bit longer?

I just engineered a makeshift automated curing/drying system. I searched all over craigslist for wine fridges. I found a bunch around my city until I finally bought this unit for $100. Its a larger 40 bottle unit with racks inside perfect for hanging. Has a digital temperature controler goes from like 68f all the way into 40s. I used an inkbird humidity controller then I got 2 small dehumidifiers and 1 cool humidifier. I calibrated the inkbird to 60rh. Temperature to 60f. So far the system holds perfect. The RH ping pongs around a little cuz the fridge compressor turns on and off but the inkbird keeps it within about 4% either way. The average in the middle is 60%. Im finally gonna be able to combat these shitty 10%rh desert wind events we keep having. I have had so many cures ruined by dry weather it was driving me mad. I finally had to do something about it. LOL

Its definitely not the genetics man, I got the cut from my friend who is a multiple cannabis cup winner from his genetics and I've had it from people before and its banging!
It's something I'm doing wrong or not doing

It's something I'm doing wrong or not doing that's getting to this stage
If you like your buddies and it's the same strain ,run the same ferts etc

Well I just discovered them last fall due to my abundant harvest and hatred of burping Mason jars lol, so I'm 6 ish months deep and honestly it smells better every time I get into it... I'll report back in 6 months lol. They have a multi level ziploc as well as the ability to heat seal the bag with like an iron or flat iron, I didn't heat seal any of mine because I like to play with my shit lol, but I have a lot still so I might do a few and stash them away.

I'd like to see some pictures of what you've done. It sounds ideal in a lot of ways ...

I've got a vacuum sealing unit that has a heat seal mode only. I'm sure it would work on those just fine. I like to store my excess in 2 oz portions. That way nothing is left unsealed too long.

Work fine for long term. I’d recommend using the heat seal on them for extended storage. But for short term and ease of access they have a zip lock on them.

I use the 1/2lb and 1/4lb grove bags with window.

They have all different sizes, ounce, 2 oz, qp, half and full pound, and bigger I think, and tiny for dispensaries.

I didn't see 2 oz. I did see 1/4 lb. I'll look again here in a bit. I prefer 2 oz portions because when my son in law comes by that's the package size I give him.

Maybe it was just one ounce... I used mostly qp, I don't think you have to fill them to max amount for them to work properly... but double check that.

They have 2 oz gift bags. I didn't look far enough is all. QP is fine for me but I usually don't give my son in law a qp of 1 strain. He usually leaves with 3 - 4 strains at 2 oz each.

Anybody else smelled your weed? Mine always smells stronger in a baggie in my pocket, but i store around 65°. Its good in the jar but body heat brings out the “bouquet”, and a roach oolala. Then again, thats after four or five months, no boveda, just settles around 58%. Vac bags, even better.
