Hows the drying in the fridge working out?
I love it, just slow.

Really helps preserve the terpenes, buds still smell like the day I chopped.

I definitely recommend to anyone who can not achieve the 60/60 environment.

I might even recommend 55/55, terpenes degrade at higher temps, that keeps you definitely on the safe side.

Yet to test at those parameters though.

I hate the hay smell, I’d love to preserve the smell that plant has when you chop it, all the way through cure.

If even possible, can’t avoid the chlorophyll eitherway perhaps.

Good enough that I want to invest in a mini fridge that I can control the temp to around the 50s, to dry my product.

That or another AC unit I suppose for a tent/closet

MiniFridge sounds easier to manage.

Possibly less power consumption not sure- mini fridge vs portable ac- slightly cheaper perhaps.

Aim for the best of the best, if a slower dry helps achieve that and preserve terps then hell yea.

I might test if you can dry then cure in the fridge as well.

It’s like an art

You want to bring out that inner moisture, but you don’t want to do it too fast or warm for sake of the terpenes, and you want the chlorophyll to break down and gas out.

so you dry the outer edges from fresh harvest bud, then bring the inner moisture out to edges that were dry.

dry that out, and then you can start to cure.

As I am understanding it and from drying in my fridge, and once i jar the bud gets all moist again, and obviously the fridge humidity affects this but still, after taking the jar out and setting in the ambient.

But icy think the warmer temps might again defeat the purpose of the preserving terps.

Res ph was high at 6.5-7 I dropped it back down to 5.9

Added another ml of pool shock solution

Will probably change res again after work tn

Shelf life of aroma and potency is plant specific, sort of like persistance of high. Exposure to air, light and temp all negatively influence cannabis and you lose it all over time. I dry to just the point of no threat of mold, then I double vacuum seal and put it in the fridge to cure over time, same with my hashish. I have some from 2019 and 2020 and it all has gotten better over time. The fridge cure is awesome. I keep my seeds in there too and viability stays strong.

Thank you!!

Ever since I started growing weed, dabbled in psychedelics a little, got more “in tune” with nature and just love growing things now.

Cycle of life continues

Need more space so I can grow more plants lol

I’ll look around for habaneros next time I’m passing the garden section at wherever I’m at next, thanks.

Love seeing the comparison, so far the morning glories seem to keep pace with the weed a bit, everything else gets left in the dust.
Psychedelics? Have you experimented with growing mushrooms and using the CO2 they create to boost plants yet?

I'm wanting to try this my self... mush tote on tent top, venting into the tent... probably going to focuse on edible mushrooms - Shitake, Oyster, Enoki, etc...
