Introduced nutes to the little one last night as well. 1/4 strength PH'd at 6.5 going in and 5.2 coming out.

Lol was planning on transplanting this one last night too but I ran out of soil and the stores are all closed til tomorrow

Not big on defoliation really but I'm thinking these might be the perfect candidates

Lol one thing this journal is not lacking in is posts or pictures. Just loving the plants what can I say

Instead of defoliating I just did a quick tucking. Lately I've been all about training with as little affect on stress as possible.

Went from this

The growth that was trapped under the big fans looks awfully mangled but surely some light and freedom to breath will change that

In the tent I raised the light back up a couple inches, after transplanting And getting closer to the light, the newest tallest growth seems a little stressed

Also need to get used to watering these fabric pots. I usually go by weight so I think I've got a pretty good idea when to water but still just new to me growing in these pots

Fantastic! I would look for a project box or something to install the dimmer into. I use Sierra bullet boxs for those type of projects. There the right color and work great. Plus as a loader I always have them in a trash can I can dig one out of. :) Hopefully that tent came with more ceiling bars so you can use the yoyo's and hang the light correctly. You can also put the exhaust fan outside the tent and blow into the carbon filter. I set my exhaust fan and filter on the top of my tents. Wife sews one end of the prefilter closed and I then put it in the carbon filter. Then slip the filter and fan together. As a 30 year pump/fan/blower tech and manufacture rep. All fans/blowers/pumps always blow/pump far better than they suck. When you put a pressure drop on the suction side you take 30% to 40% efficiency and cfm/gpm right off the top because the fan/impeller mathematically can not be loaded properly. If the filter is on the discharge side the suction side remains fully loaded and all that is being done is we are inducing head/psi and using what little psi the fan will make to maintain the cfm in this application and keep the fan blade loaded and not cavitating. Wife and I are very happy for you and wish you happy growing! Get your grow going and some pretty flower and I will send them to the lady at HLG that helped us out.
I have my exhaust fan on the outside which I thought was right ,this is my first grow just finished ,everyone that I have spoke to has said put the exhaust fan and filter in the tent that works much better, it was explained to me when put fan on outside the air goes straight down the ducting like a black hole real quick ,and if u put the fan outside u should take the sock off and roll it up long ways and put it inside the filter like a news paper rolled up as it isn’t designed to be on the outside ,on the outside I have to much negative pressure and have to open a vent as it runs to hard ,I dont have a controller just 1 speed ,my tent is 3 meters x 1.5 meters (10 f x5 ft) shop where I got tent and exhause fan from said it was right size and told me as well to put it in tent ( after nearly finished grow they told me they when I complained about to much negative pressure) not sure where to put it now ?

A fan is a pump and pumps pump. It's all about pressure drop. You never put a pressure drop on the suction side of a pump unless you have to. If your going to run your filter on the discharge side of the fan then sew one end of the prefilter together and put it inside your carbon filter as a bag filter then slip them together. Then run the shortest amount of flex duct from the tent to the suction side of the fan. When you have the prefilter and carbon filter on the suction side of the fan it causes a massive pressure drop across the fan itself due to the pressure drop of the prefilter and carbon filter. Thus the fan cannot load right and CFM tanks to about half of what the manufacture claims. If you put the filter system on the discharge side of the fan we call that inducing head. The fan stays fully loaded with no cavatation and you only lose about a 1/3 of your CFM across the fan. CFM for these fans is measured with no filter on either side of the fan. I spent well over 30 years in the pump, blower, fan, boiler, chiller, duct and piping world and was a manufactures rep the last 20 years. I've spent countless hours doing the testing, math, building curves to show people and there eyes gloss over. And then comes the stoner bro science.

Hey y'all I need some advice.

One of my two plants is showing some kind of stress Im guessing it's light.

It got kinda close to the light after being transplanted on Saturday (roughly 16") but I left it alone to see how it went.

Yesterday I noticed the top growth looking a little 'curled' so I rasied the light about 2 inches and transplanted the second plant.

Today the stressed plant looks a little worse and the Newly transplanted one looks fine.

Here they are (any white spots on leaves are diatomaceous earth from my clumsy ass)
IMG 20220628 190611032

IMG 20220628 190605535

the picture color isn't really accurate cause my phone sucks but all coloration is fine. It's just a curling of the very top growth almost like its flipping itself upside down. I'm thinking light but I'm just confused why one seems fine and one seems worse 🤔 any thoughts or advice y'all?

BTW I did just water the stressed plant as she was looking and feeling thirsty, I watered a little over a liter the day of transplant and 1.5 liters today. New to 5 gal pots maybe incorrect watering?

Well I just got up for work and in the past 5 hours that top growth seems to have straightened itself out some. perhaps with the change in light and some we're water back on track

Having a hard time getting this watering down in these new pots.
I watered plant G 1.5 liters 2 days ago. it seems early to be watering again but the top soil is pretty much completely dry.
As far as weight goes I haven't used these pots enough to use that as good guideline, I'd say it's not heavy like wet or light like dry to give my assessment lol.

The plant doesn't look super thirsty or anything so naturally my instinct is to wait but with my work schedule it's always "now or 24 hours from now" so it's a tough call sometimes. I think I shall wait, less is more here I'm hoping

Did a light defoliation to get some leaves out of the soil and give some potential bud sights some light.

Followed the defoliation with a watering PH'd at 6.4

Because I transplanted just a week ago, I'm not too worried about it right now. I've got a few 'rust spots' though and I'm thinking maybe something to do with cal or mag

Having a little issue with heat stress I believe instead of light stress like I was thinking.

My reason for thinking that is the way the tips of the top growth canoe up towards the ends but otherwise look pretty healthy. I also held my hand at canopy level and while it wasn't hot, I could definitely feel the heat from the light.

I raised the light up the last 1/2" the yoyos will let me go and turned the exhaust fan up a tad to hopefully compensate.

My next plan of action is probably to get the yoyos out of there. That will raise the light about another 6" and I can increase the dimmer as needed. I would also like to add another clip fan blowing between the top canopy and the lights to help disperse heat.

Only bad thing about that is it will be the last time I can raise the light.

5' tent + 1' pot + suspended light + required distance between light and plant = Im getting taller tent next time lol

Fold your hang cables over....
Ok awesome, that'll help thank you! I should've thought of that haha, I've been babying the light and trying to mess with it itself as little as possible. Solid Gold right there

Just keep air moving above the light. I always keep one 6" clip on fan blowing on a low setting on the top side of my lights. I would start getting some training in. If they stretch on you a screwing will come your way. Also is that lower vent panel next to a wall? If so you need to open it up. Of you hopefully have another vent open so fresh cool air can flow through the tent. Next week they are calling for 100 plus temps in my area. If your worried about light getting through the vent panel or one of your other opening. Put a pool noodle in next to the inlet air vent to block light. If I get a new motorcycle bought in the next few weeks I will be down your way to break it in you know where. :)

Okay I should be okay on fans I think then, I've got one clipped to the ceiling pointed partially at the light as well as the one on the floor pointed along the wall next to the plants.
As far as the vent panels go, neither of the 2 are next to a wall or open fully but I 'popped' the Velcro seal along the bottoms to let some air in.
I can go ahead and open one fully If you think it would help. Actually just typing this out I know it's probably the right thing to do for everything from my plants to my exhaust fan, but for some reason I'm paranoid that might be making an easy access for pests. But that's probably ridiculous though because if they can get through mesh screen surely they can get through the other crevices.

But hell yeah, that'd be an awesome place to break it in! Been seeing more and more bikes lately, about the only traffic we get here LMAO

Did some quick training.

Never topped these plants but the lower nodes are bulging like I did so that's pretty cool.

Seeing some pre-flowers, not really sure when to flip to flower. I know the two are irrelevant of one another but I'm just thinking out loud. Id say 1-2 more weeks of veg, open to advice haha
