oh, so you use it like a chain? i thought you used it like that tool i posted.
Either way. Whatever and however you can make it work but it works pretty well and is cheap as hell. I think a box of paper clips is like $3. As you can see in the picture I was too lazy to actually make the proper bends. I just used the bends the clip had. LOL! You can even hook a higher branch to a lower branch that you're LSTing and bend it down too!

I was even thinking of a light wire that you could wrap around the branch and bend it however you wanted like a pipe cleaner but I'm not sure how the pressure on the branch would affect the plant. Look at how they tie Bonsai Trees and it'll give you a ton of LST ideas. Japanese are experts in LST.

Thanks! Just waiting on them to reveal their gender then I'm gonna cull and net. The two plants on the right are the biggest and healthiest so I'm going to move those to the middle of the tent and use the other 4 to bookend the center plants and use them to help fill in the screen.

8 7

Judging from what I'm seeing it looks like they're all females but I need to see the actual pistils to be sure. I'm seeing the start of pistils but I've been fooled before so, since they're going to be under the net and I don't want to have to move them after I set the net up so I'm going to wait a little longer to be sure.

It looks like the two plants to the left, the one that is taller than the others and the one towards the back will be removed and I'll put them out in the backyard to naturally flower on mother natures time schedule!🙂

If you look in the upper right corner I have my auto irrigate distro head. Once I get the net down I'm going to setup auto irrigation so that when I go away I won't have to worry about the girls getting watered. I just ordered a camera to install in the tent that moves 90* side to side and 360* up and down so I can check them out on my phone and zoom in and out if I see something interesting. The camera has night vision so I can check on them when they're sleeping too!

Have your plants started to show flower pistils? Got a photo of what they look like at present?

You can use it whenever you think you need to restrain a branch or use it to even out your canopy if one branch is pushing ahead of the others but be careful. You can snap branches at the internode if you aren't careful. Small movements. Move it a little every day so that you don't stress it out or break branches.

Sorry for the late response. It looks like you're pretty far along so I would save it for the next grow when they are younger and smaller and can be trained. Right now you risk breaking off bud sites. Stay where you are. You're doing great. Just keep paper clip LST in your arsenal for the next time.

I usually start out my clones or cuttings in a solo cup. Once they're big enough, usually around 3rd node but I let my solo cup dry back and slip plant out of cup to see root development to see if it's time to move to a larger pot, I repot into a gallon pot and let her settle in for a few days then start training. Usually around the 5th or 6th node when branches are starting to form.

BTW........🥺 I had posted that you need to take it slow and just make small movements when you LST or you'll break a branch at internode?? I broke a branch at internode!!😢 It wasn't TOO bad but I had to wrap the break in gardeners tape and support the branch so that it would reheal back onto the internode.😭

We just got smashed by some monsoons hah 3" fell in less than 60 minutes 😮 thankful to not be in flower or I'd have had to wrestle with the dehumidifier instead of the shop vac 😂 as I tried to keep our atrium from flooding the house. Checked on the girls and still so far so good. Aside from the blue sunset sherbet being a supreme squatter who refuses to grow vertically, things seem to be going super swimmingly 🤗 The mimosa x orange punch is going to be a monster. I am for sure takin clones of her. @CannaGranny She is already reminding me of how your ATF is taking over the tent. Every single aspect of it seems to grow seamlessly. It overtook the GRC x BBC that is 17 days older. The Blueberry grew up to the net and I'm in love with. The jagged fat leaves are just dope to me. I realllly like the trellis I made and it is because of how it is different than the trellis I bought. The 4 and 6" stretchy trellises I have, you can pull on them and tuck but that is it. With the one I made I can move each square individually and that allows me to more easily direct branching. Really excited to veg them under the screen another couple/few weeks, FIM everything like I am a seasoned pro(will be my 1st time 🤣), top dress and compost tea as if I've done that before too 🙄, flip to flower and hope they grow up and make nice nice 🤗
