So I got screwed on the stretch of my last grow not taking any chances so I decided to try something I haven’t seen yet, cut out the bottom of my tent so the res is flush with the bottom
Soaked seeds in Athena stack for 2m before dropping in rapid rooters, I have the rapid rooter poked out 1/4 of the bottom of the net pot with the water just skimming it, will lower once there’s a tap root. No top feed this time and running sterile with Athena cleanse, i royally got fucked with root rot during flowering my first grow, one white widow auto yeilding nice 4oz while the other I literally had to grind the whole plant because of how bad the flower looked, not taking any chances this round. And yes I believe duct tape is a man’s best friend. Lights back off till germinating is done and humidity and temp at 75f 70rh EC .3 using 1/4 Athena for now till they look strong

1 of 2 are good had to put a seed new seed in the other pot, I think I was impulsive , saw this one pop up and the other one hadn’t moved so I pulled it up it germed and had the tail out but no root by day 5 of planting

1w update a day early, seed that didn’t finish germing, new seed finally popped out over night. Tried popping off the seed on the cotyledon. not sure what happened with half the first leaf on the other, I saw it early on thinking it could be some light burn so I raised the LED light a bit still at 12-13DLI taproots are chillin in the res. HERE WE GO!

They’re looking healthy outside of the light green and the yellow on the side of the smaller one, really stumped as to what is causing it, might be Rapid rooter being soaked for too long or maybe it got wet from the humidifier running constantly not sure.

Currently have some foam in the res Athena said it was from air stones but I never had an issue prior, they did not say if it had any negetative effects to the solution which is what I’m curious about, res temp is at 78f a bit high for my liking I have an air stone and Venturi in there and it raised it that high, just going with it as of now. Athena has their cleanse which kills the bacteria so I’m not concerned with that and there’s plenty of surface agitation. any thoughts would be appreciated.

Got it down to 76f right now. Athena told me that airstones was causing the foaming and to not use air pumps. I know I’ve seen you say surface agitation is key over air @Aqua Man would you say this is good? Their cleanse apparently oxygenates the water as well

Sounds a bit odd how do they plan to mix or aerate the water?

Thats what id ask them. I never used their nutrients.

a surfactant or wetting agent should get rid of that

They said to only use the submersible pump without a Venturi as I have it now in the video, I’m just trying to confirm the way I have it set now should suffice and won’t drown the plants

It will for now but probably not once they get bigger

Since I was having and apparently still having but it’s better than it was, root rot, how it is Happening with cleanse I have no fucking clue but I made some pvc pipe with some misters for aero dropped the water level to the top of the pump but not aerating that water, which I’m going to do. I’ll cut the root rotted roots off at the bottom and clean the res, thinking I should just run bennys at this point I have advanced nutrient tablet and great white, I have sensizyme running with the cleanse and it’s still happening ffs I’m even running the air pump into the res to get more air between the top of the lid and water level, sprayers are on a cycle of 1m on 5min off, res temp is steady at 74f can’t get lower any suggestions would be appreciated

Can’t tell if this is actually wilting or the branches aren’t strong enough yet to hold this big of leaves, they’re definitely more healthy then my last grow, I turned the Osc fan on to get some more movement on the stems to try to get them a little more girthy I may still have root issues, currently spraying 10sec on 15min off and roots are staying damp @Aqua Man any thoughts?

Remove the leaves resting on the container they will be prone to infection. That should also help with airflow

Done and done, look better already

will be topping underneath 5th node theyre at their 4th

Been on vacation for 4 days left the sprayers running 10sec on and 30min off at 2.0 EC. 3 nodes in 4 days and the small plant is also on its seventh. Took a few extremely large fan leaves off both pretty impressed. Seems like I can push with EC a bit more. Going to try 2.5 when I flush out the weekly solution. Lights out right now will get pic in the morning of them awake.

Can’t say for sure but pretty positive this is root rot, don’t understand why it’s only happened above water, I’ve had sprayers on to keep them moist at 10sec/3hours. Just turned them off but worried about drying but also wondering if it will kill the rot. I just redid the res, instead of cleanse I threw in a advanced nutrient plus tablet which is good for 100g this is only a 10g res, hopefully they take over.

just went to the store and grabbed some hydroguard, orca, and great white, all of the ones i got off amazon were expired... also changing out venturi pump to a smaller one to lower temps, never had issues really with temp before but now i think its the route cause of the rot and not innoculating them from the top after following aquas root rot cure, my question is though, if im not spraying the roots hanging anymore will they dry out and die off? @Aqua Man

So yesterday I came home and the roots had a dark brown sludge on them. I bugged out, bennys or not I couldn’t stand it. Rinse the roots in Athena cleanse and sprayed them with the shower head and the roots looked healthy. They’re recovering for sure, going to continue to top feed them 1 hr after lights turn on and 3 hrs before lights off. With changing the pumps I got the temps below 70f FINALLY. And the right plant is booming, I think the left one is having a harder time recovering from the top and roots having issues granted it is a week behind the other from germination and I topped them both at the same time probably should have waited. Running cleanse at 10ml a gallon and misting roots with straight cleanse once a day. EC 2.0 and they love it

Showing more signs of damage from root rot, on top of the temp issues I did have now a pump failed and had to trim the roots because they were brown as shit, but it does look like the top feed seems to be helping new growth, trimmed roots above water line for now 3 feeds a day for 1min once an hour after lights 1 at lunch and 1 3 hours before lights off
