Ok so we are still sitting at the following conditions. Im taking some stress tests tgis grow since its not been ideal from the start and i am curious to see what if any (for you ppl who watched the depp trial) effects o2 may have on them

50% RH
80f temp
(i probably should running a bit higher RH)

res temps still at 83f
co2 1000ppm
900ppfd.

increased mag sulfphate a bit but going to bump up more again in a day or 2.

800ppm

PH 5.8

Plants look good either way, always looking out for these posts

that i cant say for sure all i know is they needed more. Im using jacks and adding about 1.5 grams per gal of mag sulphate currently and got a gut feeling i may need a touch more but want to wait a fee days to see the full response. At 1 gram per gal it wasn’t enough for my conditions… but my conditions are also not typical and that could be contributing

Yup yup

I was using around 1.5-2g of epsom at some point
Probably a little much then but still

Curious...at the point that you are at in veg obviously nitrogen is one of the major nutrients you want your plant uptaking. On most PH charts that would mean your best PH value for maximum nitrogen uptake would be at around 6.5ph. In fact, 6.5 to 6.7, according to the chart, would be the optimal PH for maximum uptake of as many of the nutrients weed needs. Why do people say that 6.0 is where you want to be at?

Plant nutrient absorption at different pH

That charts for soil… in hydro we run a lower PH partially because we dont need to fight with the CEC

Id like to see that clip bugbee mentions between hydro,coco/perlite and soil ph range.id say coco/perllite ph is between those 2 graphs.im borderline ph'ing 5.92 but not seeing any def or lacking in p and k so id say p and k are available further up than what it states in second pic..

Personally in hydro I like my PH to slowly swing between 5.5 and 6.2. My thought is this helps with multiple nutrients. I'd like to devise a test to this effect and have the system automatically dose up or down based on an algorithm. You know, for science.

Once I get my seedlings into the flower tent, I might take one of the 4 res'es and do a test like this. A corollary would be that PH could be used as yet another tool in the arsenal for managing nute uptake. For example, instead of dumping in cal-mag, would it be better to raise PH to center on 6.2 for a week if you see a calcium or magnesium deficiency? I would just need to figure out the sweet spots for each salt while not depriving another.

So you reckon that graph is up the shit in sec pic then as 6.2 is out of p and k uptake..
Nope bit it doesn’t end that abruptly imo… you can manipulate ratios and as @Moe.Red does as do i is allow a ph swing.

plants like stability but with a ph swing of about 0.2 per 24 hrs they get the benefit of a slight variance of availability while maintaining stability…. Plants hate large ph swings
