Lets try again.
I have a heating/cooling vent in the grow room from the central air system. Currently it is taped off. I want to untape it, put a carbon filtered fan on my floor blowing down into the home hvac system. Directly under my grow room, creating a path of least resistance, I want to put a dump valve in. I was also wondering if I would need a thermocouple or if I could just take the signal coming from my current home thermostat and sent it to the automated unit. Thing is I dont know what board to buy. I have experience with SSH and creating files, not alot, but enough where I can comprehend ladderlogic, as long as I can use google. I guess im wondering if there is a PCI express card I can stick in my gaming pc, or if one of those raspberry pi thingies will work, or if I should just go get a real plc rack from my dads garage lol. I dont think ill need alot of inputs and outputs, im just confused on how they all work. is there a style where you can add cards to the main powersupply unit, but on a smaller scale?
Like I want what is the most universal and upgrade able. I also watched this video and think thats something I would like. For 200 bucks I think I could have as much fun as you are lol.
Also if what im asking sounds like it can be done with some effort and dollars, ill cut the floor vent under the house and cap off the end coming from the unit, then just blow the heat into the crawlspace until I figure out what to buy. I just dont want to blow my heat outside this year. I also plan on going back to a sealed co2 room in the spring. Damn, ill be sealed by next winter too with the mini split. . guess I should just dump it in the crawlspace for now since its not a permanenent setup. Yet I would like to be able to do this elsewhere, like in my garage that I want to move my grow too. Sorry ranting atm. . its just I cant turn on any more lights in my grow room until I figure out what the hell to do next.

So id like to not run my home heating this winter. The amount of heat that room generates is more than enough to heat my entire house. Do I need to do it this winter, no, but eventually that would be my end game if im not running co2.
Basically if I get 15% more for c02 in the winter, but I have to run my home heating and a window unit, on top of the power they all use. It would seem more efficient to just ditch the c02 in the winter. Im quite positive it would cut my winter electric bill in half by doing this. Now im loosing out on 15% of weight in that bedroom over the course of 3 months, but the amount of electricity saved could be nice.
The other reason I would at least like to have the equipment to do this is for my building, garage and greenhouse.

In the winter I can put a manual damper near the furnace exhaust, and just close it so im not running air backwards into my acoil and then im just using my vents.
If I just run it to the crawlspace, im blowing like 2000w worth of heat down there. I doubt it will raise the temps much down there to where I will notice it up top. The floor is insulated and the crawlspace is vented. I just see this as another winter where im wasting energy. With a sealed setup, its actually alot more energy being used from my dehui and ac. I guess if I figure out an easy way to do this, I might just quit with the co2. Im not as impressed with the c02 as I thought I would be. I also love to tinker and if I get the right automation box, I can add all my own stuff to it over the years. Id like to push a button and my shit pump outside. Id like to push a button and my shit refills. Im bored moe, that is all

I will be looking into coverting fully, but for now its going to be a balancing act, trying to get dialed in with not ideal equipment. The epoxy looked big until she went into her new house. Hope she fills out once i flip her. Tomorrow is ten weeks from sprout, seems good a time as any.

Pretty cool, basically just a sea of green and lollipopping i think. For those of us with limited plant counts though it wouldnt work. Commercially however it looks cool, will look into this method more. One thing im thinking though is, isnt side lighting obsolete if your lights have good penetration and you defoliate properly?

Reading through their site sounds like they are into maximizing everything. They are growing colas only, so top lighting only has the top of the bud getting maximum light while the further down the cola you go that light drops off. So side lighting sounds like it's to insure that every part of the cola receives max lighting. They even claim a veg time of only 2-5 days Link

Seems like a lot of maintenance and not the best utilization of space, but I could be wrong. It definitely is an interesting idea though...will have to have a deeper look into the method.

Sure doesn't look like their system is for the home grower. I'm sure that a simplified system for the home grower can be put together. They also do tissue culture, which I'm sure that most Home growers will not bother with. Interesting to look at these commercial systems anyway
