I’m not sure if my memory of terpenes are correct but I recall the first strain I smoked trainwreck tasted very piney and earthy and then my uncle let me have green crack and it smelled and tasted like diabetic piss straight up sugar and piss. I brought a .5 to school with me the end of my senior year when I first started and sold it to a classmate in the bathroom and 2 hours later they had the police open up the lockers on that section of the hallway because of a loud hot summer car pissy aroma filling the whole hall and I already knew it was the green crack because that’s why I was trying to get rid of it lmao. But I never smoked anything that flavorful again and it’s been about 6 years so it’s time for a phenotype hunt between seeds I have stocking in my fridge for years just for this moment. The plan is to just pop everything a few weeks after each other( a lot already vegging), select and clone for my needs and then breed for preservation/ continuation. The genetic lineup is ;
Rare Dankness- Ghost Train Haze #1

Rare Dankness- Somali Ghost Train Haze

Kingdom Organic Seeds- Red Russian Skunk F2

AK Bean Brains- Roadkill Skunk X Deep Chunk/ Super Skunk

AK Bean Brains- Beatrix Choice(SSSC) X ACC RKS(Alaska Cannabis Cache)

Cryptic Labs- Gorilla 91

Strayfox Gardens- Iraqi Red Skunk Hashplant

Shoreline Genetics- Texas Roadkill

And possibly ordering a pack of The Nature Farm- Uncle Festers Skunk #18 to this potentially killer genetic lineup.

GTH is not skunky or dead or sour by any means but I have found great phenotypes in both the GTH1 and SomaliGTH that I want to keep for personal medicine until something from this batch blows it out the water ;)

Any questions or suggestions greatly appreciated my fellow horticulturalists.

Pic attached is of Somali Ghost Train Haze in organic soil at week 7 or 7.5 probably 2 more to go smells like a fresh pampers baby diaper hard to explain but not pissy just fresh linen and cotton smelling like an aloe Vera baby wipe!

Just a little info on my grow style;
Seedlings- all germinated in a humidity tray with heat mat in rapid rooter peat plugs with plain 0ppm water at 6.0-6.5 ph approximately. My clones get the same process for rooting.

Veg- I veg in 4 or 6 inch plastic pots whatever is available just nothing big and the medium I prefer is promix BX w/ biofungicide… it is inert enough to not burn very sensitive older genetics that may not require the normal amounts of food after successful rooting.. as far as nutrients I top dress with high quality compost or worm castings or the build a soil craft blend but whatever I use, even If it’s a combination, I top that off with bokashi bran of any kind I can find to start a fungal fermentation process on my soil which breaks everything down fairly fast within a couple days so I don’t really need to feed my young ones anything until they actually start to look like they need something which for me isn’t usually until around week 3.5 to 4 in the promix alone!

Flower- i flower in 5 gallon buckets same promix bx blend and I build a soil build a flower for nutrients and mineralized basalt for micros.. occasionally greensand for silica/potassium but not necessary.

Veg/seedling room is 100% led

Flower room is using a combo of two Electric Sky 300s and Growers Choice 500w 3k CMH.

First photo is AK Bean Brains Roadkill Skunk/ Deep Chunk X Super Skunk 5 babies out of 6 lived.
Second photo is just of Somali Ghost Train clones showing Indica Narrow Leaf Drug traits. These clones are just for my personal smoke stash.

Photos never uploaded. In the meantime I have successfully germinated Cryptic Labs Gorilla 91, Shoreline Genetics Texas Roadkill, and Strayfox Gardenz Red Skunk HP and will search through these along with the rest. One of the KOS Red Russian Skunk is already showing pistils I was sure it was male because of much taller and wider it than the rest already so I cloned and topped her today. Picture is from last week but as of today it is week 4 since everything has sprouted so it’s moving along great.

everything is germinated and vegging fast. Killed 4 clones already by forgetting to water the tray lol but I can cut more later this is already a process

Everyday now I’m noticing at least .25-.50” of growth can’t wait to start selecting. And this is what my young ones look like after watering with Yucca THERM X 70, a popular wetting agent.

Topped everything. The cuttings of one of the skunk I cloned actually lived I rehydrated them a few days ago and saw roots this morning so everything going as planned. Eventually I will be breeding for preservation outside when the weather permits in my zone. So for now I am going to top these plants accordingly to keep them small bushy and grow slow as I select through every clone I choose and cull the plants I do not like.

I see what you mean with your explanations of nutrients/top dressing. Your medium looks great!

Can't wait to see the ones you end up going with. Do you have a max of how many you're gonna go with?

Looks good. A lot going on in there. I am running a super silver haze x catpiss from old school chronic. Shes three weeks in flower and has a very pissy/ammonia kinda smell. Shes only supposed to be a 70 day plant, so we’ll see. Happy growing, hope you find what you are looking for.

I’m going to cry that sounds so good I was tempted to run that in this experiment but didn’t feel comfortable spending 225 for the pack but I’m glad to see someone can vouch for the smells I might have to grab it one day! 😭

And yes a lot going on for sure. I didn’t want to waste the time hunting everything individually so I popped half the pack of each strain I wanted all regular beans of course. Estimating that I keep 1 male and 2 females from each strain ( 7 total) that will leave me with 42 down to 21 plants to choose from 2 females and 1 male of each strain. So assuming I have 7 males I will label them and flower them outside and harvest their pollen. I’ve seen techniques that involve wrapping a small bag of the pollen around a female plant branch to induce seeding and I want to try this out so I could possibly seed every female all at once. Slowly but quite possibly surely but anything can happen!

Yes this medium is all promix bx the only thing I dressed with so far is basalt rock dust, some neem cake, and bokashi wheat bran. I did use some worm castings but they had gnats in them so I am waiting for them to disperse only seen 2 this morning fly in my face none on soil.
As for the max I’m assuming that I’ll end up with 2 females and 1 male out of each strain which will leave me with 21 plants plus or minus but hopefully less. This run is just to make seeds out of these plants since I only have whatever is in my fridge that is why I’m only picking what I really like so this is technically my first IBL F2 Preservation Run. I say preservation because I’m not going to grow these anytime soon as f2 seeds will have some genetic variation and Ill have to do them individually at that point probably 25-50 seeds at a time depending on how many seeds I get.

The hunt is on! Every time i try that, i have a hard time culling any of them and i end up with a full house! I am a 5 plant at a time grow right now. Until the rules change. Hopefully soon! ✌🏻

Hopefully I won’t find more females than I know what to do with or I will have to cull them or keep them in clone for later because of my limits as well. I can breed to my liking but as far as budding Sensimilla I have a plant limit.

Never had a solid diary before I think this photo is nice and manageable compared to the last I did some plant removal, topping, and of course a daily foliar spray. The 5 KOS Red Russian F2s are all uniform in size as you can see but showing me some differences in leaf color, serration, and overall width so I am definitely looking forward to a good selection of phenotypes for my first run of it.
