No, multiple light points is always better. The problem is the periphery with 600's in a 5x5, you will have high par in the middle and low par numbers in corners, That's the beauty of LED bar lights, even spread over a larger footprint of your canopy.so are you saying two separate 4x4 600w each is better than a single 5x5 space with2x 600w?

For an example, here is 600 watts Of LED's over a 4x6 area. 2.2 lbs dryView attachment 1317274
With all things considered equal and you have 1 plant you want to perform at its max, would you choose to put it under an led light of your choice ...or ...an hps of your choice with a new lamp in it...??????No, multiple light points is always better. Use what you feel comfortable with, I would really need more info though as to what you are growing in as such as a tent and what size ?With all things considered equal and you have 1 plant you want to perform at its max, would you choose to put it under an led light of your choice ...or ...an hps of your choice with a new lamp in it...??????
Me because I don't have enough experience with led's I'd choose Hps simply because I know them better and less chance I'd fk up. But with costs not considered what would you choose to grow a plant under??

I just meant for you personally, 78f @ 60% you have 1 large plant 1 - 4x4 space 2 lights...one 600watt hps.....& ....one 600watt led . ...........You have to choose only 1 light......what is your choice?........Me its hps..because I'm more familiar...for now....I'm not good enough yet with led's to be able to compare properly so if anyone with equal knowlege could compare & choose what is the choice?Use what you feel comfortable with, I would really need more info though as to what you are growing in as such as a tent and what size ?

What do you mean by "600w vs 600w"? There are other factors......spectrum, ppf, etc.I just meant for you personally, 78f @ 60% you have 1 large plant 1 - 4x4 space 2 lights...one 600watt hps.....& ....one 600watt led . ...........You have to choose only 1 light......what is your choice?........Me its hps..because I'm more familiar...for now....I'm not good enough yet with led's to be able to compare properly so if anyone with equal knowlege could compare & choose what is the choice?
& you have years of experience with both to make that choice?....Halide?.......You're not the guy...thanks anywaysWhat do you mean by "600w vs 600w"? There are other factors......spectrum, ppf, etc.
If I were going to choose between a 600w Halide or HPS, and a very good, latest LED quantum board that USES 600w.......LED all the way.

did you grow with hps in the same upstairs bed to compareMy current grow is my first led - so far it’s competed very well of not better to my old system I had set up. Honestly all the forgetting about temps since she’s in her own bedroom upstairs makes it hella easier . Idk I have high hopes for this flower
Oh I wish - my last grow was about 7 years ago. Completely different world - that was in a musty basement with no knowledge - I did about 6 harvests each one getting better but having the same lighting was the biggest constantdid you grow with hps in the same upstairs bed to compare
I don't know how much HIDs cost these days, but the best/strongest LED quantum boards can be had for about $800 each, discounts/sale, coupon codes. All savings from that point on. Some companies will have refurbished ones available for less.start up cost to consider
led 600w latest model will outperforming in terms of efficiency easily
these are initially very expensive
600w hps in cooler temp or budgets that plan on upgrade phasing
both a room of 600w led and hps both perform well in growing bud

I'd love to use my old Metal Halide, but it's from 1988, and has a big clunky ballast box. Maybe I could get a new one for the bulb, it's still in good shape......Oh I wish - my last grow was about 7 years ago. 400w MH for veg I swapped to a HPS for flower
This grow has the sf4000 so I would assume it’s a upgrade as well in general for its light performance .
I had all my equipment with me for years and threw it away - so for this grow I had to purchase literally everything all new
I’ll know when I bust the microscope out and we see how frosty they come out. I spent hours staring at trichs - still got those images burned into my head
