Here’s a couple pics for ya. Steels (black) are at 300 and 600 all the way to the end. Gives a good perspective of what 600 yards is.
The lady with all the crazy messy pinned up hair, would be me 😊 I’m shooting f class varmit tactical @ 600 yards. This is a 6mm dasher, Savage (the gun, not me 😂) on a joy pod.
Pret-ty impressive, @CannaGranny! I couldn’t even spot a varmint at 600 yds.

Raw clams and white vinegar is delicious 🤣🤣 it is like a giant loogie though just cant think about it lmao
Once we srart thinking what various things are.....I love lobster and crabs, but......you know.

Eggs can get to me, I'm not a huge fan. Once I start thinking about what they are, that's the end of that.

Birthday blunt and fire in the driveway under the full moon... 30 degrees is doable. 😊🥳✌️

This was new to me so thought I’d look it up. Interesting and cool! Go CG! 🥇

6MM DASHER

The 6mm Dasher is an old wildcat caliber dating from 1999. During 2017, it was brought out by Norma as properly manufactured brass on the behest of American F Class shooter Shiraz Balolia, who has commissioned Norma to manufacture fully-formed 6mm Dasher brass, but it was originally based on the 6mm BR case fire-formed in the 6mm Dasher chamber resulting in about 10% extra case capacity with a 40° shoulder and a slightly shorter neck. It was originally developed in 1999 by gunsmith Dan Dowling and friend Al Ashton with the name being a mix between Dan and Ashton. In 2014, Jim Richards, shooting at the Deep Creek Range near Missoula, Montana, set a world record with his 6mm Dasher by placing ten shots in a 2.6872-inch group at a thousand yards, shooting in the Light Gun class. At the 2015 IBS 600 yard Nationals Richard Schatz took first place in the two gun category with a 6mm Dasher, and notably, seventeen of the top twenty competitors were shooting 6mm Dashers.

Very nice! I’m jelly.

I’d embarrass myself but have a blast doing it. 😅

Getting the itch. Don’t think I’ve even touched one of mine since last spring.

Hmm...

My last drying wasn’t the greatest. The perfect spot I normally use apparently sucks after fall.

Now that the second tent is ready I noticed that the first tent seems to maintain 20*c & RH 57% without much effort. So I’m thinking of using it.

As it’s a FrankienSCROG the question I was looking into is do I need to hang it upside or not? If I can just cut it and support it in the net that would be nice.

So far everything seems to say yes but only a few say why exactly. The ones that do mostly say it’s to allow moisture and stuff to keep feeding the buds and/or help keep buds moist longer for better dry/cure. (Horrible paraphrasing.)

I’m pretty sure it’s a bad idea and upside down is right or I would have found something about it.

I was planning to just cut and flip my net top and put it back on to dry but then wondered why?

Anyway, just thinking out loud while stuck in the house.

(Most times I dry things for looks, like flowers, so upside down helps with presentation. Which doesn’t matter in this case.)
So after reading up further on what I hope are more reputable sites it seems like drying either way is fine. However doing it upside down does have a few more benefits.

Protects buds better
Keeps moist in longer for slower dry
(Above can also be a problem)
Everything is tight and same direction

Although it seems some larger operations will hang both ways with larger buds hung right way up to stop mould and moisture build up.

“The advantage is the water in the stem helps it to dry slower. With giant colas we hang them rightside up with unbent paper clips as the hook to hang them by. The big buds can rot from the inside when you dry real slow. The small regular size buds go upside down. The big buds dry faster and open up allowing air to circulate and not rot. The big and little dry in the same amount of time this way. It helps when you have 200 outside plants to dry and want them out of the way for the next load to be brought in. First load gets trimmed and finished in paper bags as 2nd gets brought in and dried, then ready for trimming, etc., etc.”

Wow, 600 yards is a ways. I had almost forgotten what that looks like. I used to somehow lob rounds down range 800 meters with an M240B when I was in the army. At that range I had to aim the muzzle so high it was almost a mortar and being a machine gun you had to walk the rounds in. It was doable, though. 600 meters at night was the real challenge. I once went 12/10 at night qual which was possible because there were two double targets so you could get bonus points with a nice burst. I had a really good spotter and even extra rounds at the end. Those were fun ranges.
