Thanks for the info Zen_Seeker.
I went to my grow shop and asked about watering practice in coco. I was originally watering every third or fourth day when the pot got light. I was told I need to water 2-3 times a day and keep the pot saturated. So for the last couple days I been watering 2x a day...no change if anything the condition is a little worse. I also have leaf tips curling down so maybe nitrogen toxicity? How do you correct a nitrogen problem like that?
You correct it by fertigation frequency and concentration. Read here then ask any questions you have because im sire you will have.

Light switched to 12 12 on the 11th. I switched up my watering to four times a day for 10mins. Seems to be working well. Tent temperatures 78-67. I moved my Nextlight Megapro down to twenty inches and reduced my setting from 100% to 75%. Having problems keeping my RH constant, it fluctuates between 40 and 70% depending on when the exhaust fan is on. Now going into flowering, my RH levels can come down to a more natural percent.
Nutes are stayng consistent at around 1.7 to 2 EC (in and out). I installed my net and have already tucked a few branches down. Things are going well so i will contribute to this grow journal in about a week to update progress

Week one of flowering down. The girls are doing well. Slight leaf tips curling down not sure why. Girls are showing good groth but not growing up but rather out. These are more bush like plants, very tight node spacing. I was going to defoliate the under brush but its to dence to get scissors on it. I should have tackeled that sooner.
I have set up a auto water system useing a mechanical timer. The system turns on for 15min at 8 1 and 6. This schedule seems to be working fine. As the ladies start drinking more, i can easily lengthen the time or frequency.

I think you need to defoliate. I don’t net until I clear the bottom a bit, but then I grow them larger before I SCROG.

Nice and green! πŸ‘

Zen_seeker these girls are so thick with undergroth Im not sure where to start to defoliate. How much do I take off the bottom and will it stunt them defoliating this late?

I see Aqua Man’s been directing you too. Excellent. He’s who you need to listen to.

I don’t recall if you have autos or not. But either way I try to keep the bottom 2” - 3” clear. Nothing should be touching the ground but the main stem/trunk.

Let me read your grow again and then repost.

A quick recap and I get this from it...

Your not running autos.

Aqua Man has suggested frequent watering but don’t leave saturated. This is major. I know little about hydro. Follow his lead or ask him in a PM or tag if you see nute issues!

And you just finished your first week of flower at 12/12.

The leaf tip curl. If no brown or yellow, even at tip, then either over water or start of fan leaf curl.

You say you have a lot of circulation. The plant with curl, put your hand or a bit of string in front of it. See or feel any air blowing?

I point my fans at the roof or floor most of the time. IMO some wind burn isn’t a big deal. But make sure that is what it is.

You have about a week to defoliate then your in week 3 of flower and can stress it to much. Just get in there a bit and clear out the middle so airflow and light gets in. You don’t need to SCROG or lollipop. Just groom it so it can spread out and not be so dense. Next time try LST before you flip. Save you a lot of trouble.

Post when you’re ready. We’ll have a look and see what’s next.

I don’t recall where I saw the chart but there is one that shows how the leaves work for and effect the plant. Great for a defoliation guide.

You want to remember that anything below a foot from the canopy isn’t going to keep growing. It’s more like reserve nutes storage.

Has stretch started? You want to remove small nowhere branches to direct growth to the branches you’re saving. Then the stretch will open things up better as well.

I went ahead and defoliated the best I can. Wow I took alot of greenage off doing so. The bottom is mostly open now so i should have good circulation there. Thanks for the heads up Zen_seeker

Give it at least 3 - 4 days before doing anything more with them. It’s the longest I can go. 😝

If I’d known you’d just dive in I would have directed a bit better and suggested you wait an hour or two after watering. (Helps with LST but not 100% for trimming. Might just gum up the trimmers more but seems to help.)

Regardless you seem to have nailed it. Good size fan leaves left and amount from the pic. Give us a few top shots in the future, even if it’s just one or two you pull out for maintenance.

Thanks Zen_Seeker. I still have some trimming to do but I will wait a few days before I do. I'll shoot a top view of them here soon.

little grandmommy girls look perfect. im so excited to see them flower
You familiar with LST? Between that and trimming any leaves blocking flower sites you want to plump up it should be fine.

You want to stop any trimming or LST by the second week of flower.

I like to TOP mine and FIM to get 3x more. But try not to rush straight into flower. These aren’t autos so stretch them out and enjoy your choice. 😎

I used to just use softwire for LST but using budclips this time. Not bad. To $ but reusable.

Hey Zen I did the trimming and tied back the branches useing coated soft wire. Heres another picture showing the girls came through like a champ after defoliating. I am however into week two of flower. My ceiling height is a concern so im actually happy these girls are short. My last grow was wedding cake...and talk aboit stretching, I got light burn from being to close to the light. Heres a couple pictures this morning after the trimming. I wish I would have topped them again. Live and learn I guess.

Let them rest.

I just finished the first round of LST. Now I have to wait until 7pm to muck with the mother in harvest.

First 1/3(?) Of harvest is dry/cure in the basement bathroom. Need to leave them alone too. 😝

A lot of hands off time with this hobbyπŸ€”

Girls are in week three of flowering. Useing the fertigation method of watering three times a day for fifteen minutes seems adequate. I can always increase frequency as the girls drink more and more. Plants are producing a nice amount of bud sites. Ill follow up here in a couple weeks to give another progress report.

A look at the Grandmommy purple bud sites popping up. No real news to report other than the fact that I think things are progressing exceptionally well. This strain so far has been a easy one to grow. Altho I still have the strange one growing, shes looking like she wont produce to well, slow growing and extremely over crowded. Im gonna let her go to the end at this point, got nothing to loose.
