Day 11

Was having heat issues on the bottom of the canopy due to stagnant air so I added a box fan and defoliated a bit. Waiting for some flower to show before i do a major defoliation. Took most all of the bad leaves off. My first problem in flower. Was really bummed out!

Added a Pulse Pro monitor. Plants look a lot better after taking off all the bad leaves. The box fan added a lot more air flow under the canopy. Waiting for flowers to show so I can do a full strip and clear more room in the canopy.

Finishing week 2 strong!! Am I far enough into flower to do a defoliation? Looks like they are starting to form but not sure if I have to wait for more development.

Took some leaves off but still want to wait a couple days.

I couldnt wait stripped most big leaves and the lights went out so I couldnt inspect it fully. I think I got most.

Is it okay to remove small branches on the bottom?

Thank you! My humidity was getting outta control in the tent. Plants are breathing a lot better with more airflow.

Also more light penetration through my canopy. Those are the reasons I did it otherwise probably wouldnt do it if I didnt need so. Not sure I am still a noob!

Do you fellas think its okay to cut off the thin lower branches in a couple days after they bounce back? Not a full lollipop just whatever is not reaching the first trellis.

yes, every stem that doesnt have the potentional to reach upper canopies to make a bud or doesnt have access to light. Dont forget that plants store food in leaves too.

Agree. I just see some people saying dont do in flower and some do. Is there a difference or just dont wanna shock the plants too much

I think your past the potential shock point

Like bro said chop chop on the lowers. At 2 weeks stretch is winding down. If it’s not at or close to the canopy it’s not going to get there. Lots of buds if you don’t with 9 plants

Also tried 9 plants in 5x5. Never ever. At least u can freely move plants and take them out because I couldnt properly lollipop a few due to harder access to them. Ended up with 4.

I run a 5x5 with a 4x4 bed. I grow 5 plants at a time get around 2lbs per run

How do you arrange 5? I wanna try 6 next run so I can spread them out more. With 9 i couldnt bush them out as much as I would like to.

5x5 tent but im trying to cover a 4x4 canopy. My light is just strong so I got a 5x5 because thats what was recommended. Gives a bit extra room for airflow but I cannot get in there and work in it so thats a bummer. Getting mid canopy or the rear part suckss. Would definitely go with a Gorilla Grow tent next time. They open up much better. Apparently ac infinity is thicker but i dont think buy much and if it makes any difference. Gorilla grow has better zippers as well from the looks of it. You can see some of the led leak through on acinfinity

Day 17

Update from today. My run off EC hs jumped 400ppms from the last few feedings, gave a water day today went back down to 1300ppm. Having some confusing using Advanced Nutrients line after calling in. The Rep told me to feed at full strength every watering. I feel like thats WAY too much. My EC rises and he was trying to tell me it shouldnt rise if I follow their FULL Strength feeding schedule at every feeding. When I do this my ppms/ec jumps like 200ppm.

I usually do 2 feeds followed by a water day. And as I follow this my EC and PPMs stay where they need to be which is 2.4 EC 1250ppm rn for Week 3 flower. The rep told me im crazy for doing this and that I am starving my plants for doing this I should be feeding everyday at full strength which is around 1600ppm i believe he told me? Ive never tried to feed that high.

Anyone have a similar situation happen or can give any insight? I water once a day with plenty run off every day once a day.

I noticed som minor tip burn starting to form so thats why I got concerned.

I'd go with what the plants are telling me personally. I'm hydro but with rocks so I feed every 3 hours. I took 1 line to 1200 ppm once. Other than that, 800 ppm max in flower. It's a little harder with your system but what my goal is for the "ppm to remain the same as water level drops". Get your system to do that and your golden.

I make enough to feed the plant for a week or 10 days, dump it and mix a batch.

Ive been thinking of making a batch for the week but it says for coco to mix daily. I tried once with a small batch and the pH went up after a few days but not sure if that had to do with something else.


Mixing everyday is a bitch and I do waste water and nuts doing so.


Trying to master the input = output for EC/PPM. Its definitely a challenge for a first timer but im getting there.


Also just spoke to the local hydro store. They told me to feed with nuts every watering so I definitely have to go back and recalc my inputs. Might drop them a bit to feed daily.

Day 19!

Had to raise the light 4” today, the center plant is just pushing growth. The Banana OG is pretty even as well only having an issue with my right 3 plants catching up to the rest of the canopy. Its not too far off, hopefully they catch up by the end of the week.


I tried keeping my batch from the day before to feed today but my ph rose from 5.9 to 6.1. I usually just whats left on my outdoor plants but it would be so much better if I could keep a batch res for the week. On the Advanced Nutrients bottles it says to mix daily for coco. Is anyone using this line with coco and not doing that?

Its easy at first when the plants dont need more than a 5 gal bucket but now im mixing a bigger batch and I dont want to be wasting nuts/water all the time. 2-3 gals daily adds up plus its extra time filtering RO water, I dont use a float valve but need one bad as I have a huge spillovers from forgetting.
