Ayeee that's awesome! Definitely excited to see some update pics when you get the chance to post! Gotta love the suspense of a bag seed haha

Lookin good! Once the pistils are all curled in and red you can get a jewlers loupe on amazon pretty cheap. Makes examining the trichs a lot easier!
Thanks dude! Yeah I'm figuring I'm still a couple weeks away, but definitely gonna grab a jewelers loupe soon to keep an eye on the trichomes.

I see your girls are doing really well too! Lots of tops, you trained them really well!

Thanks! Learning a bit. I have a better idea for next time lol. Lots of topping and lst.

Absolutely, learning something new every day! With my small space, definitely looking for any way to maximize the area.

Lookin forward to seeing your flower stretch over these next few weeks!

Day 90: No major updates. Gave her some water and nutes this morning. Been letting her naturally shed her lower fan leaves. Buds are fattening up nicely and smell amazing!

Here's a few updated pics of some of her buds this morning

Looking really healthy and frosty! I bet she already smells nicer than the bag you got her from!

You got any plans for the trim yet? Those sugar leaves look resinous as hell, gonna be strong edibles or some fire hash from that trim

Oh she definitely smells stronger than the original bag I got the seed from haha

Yeah I'm getting a good trim tray ordered. Already have a butter maker. So once I trim, I'll be able to decarb that, make some butter and be set on some edibles for a while! Not sure what I'll do with the kief from the trim tray yet, whether I'll keep it dry or press it. As for the buds, I have a massive mason jar with hydrometer that I'll cure them in.

Hell yeah!

I was thinking about getting a trim tray too. I saw a few reasonably priced on amazon. I think kief stores better when pressed into hash, but if you smoke it quick enough none of that matters anyway lol

Yeah after my last grow, and not having a tray, I definitely want one this time around haha. Makes things so much easier! But yeah I'll most likely end up pressing some pucks and smoking the rest 😂🙌

Day 92: Just been hanging out, enjoying these buds filling in! Going to give her water and nutes either tonight or tomorrow morning. Debating when I'm going to start flushing, as I know it's coming up relatively soon. Ordered a jewels loupe to check the trichs, but for now used my phone camera to see as best as I could. Looking through the camera all still look pretty clear (the pic makes them look cloudier than they actually are).

Between her smell and her branches getting heavier and heavier, I'm getting super excited! Gotta keep myself patient though haha

Day 96: As per usual the last few weeks, no major updates. Just enjoying watching these buds grow! Got a jewlers loupe on the way so that I can get a closer look at the trichs, but thinking she's starting to get close that I'll need to begin flushing soon. Last watering (yesterday) was just pH balanced water after a feeding over the weekend, so I should have the loupe before next feeding to see if I should continue flower nutes or flush.

She's smelling up my whole place, I love it haha. Super sweet/fruity smell, which is making me a little more confident it is GMONana!

Day 99: Got my loupe the other day and tichs on the center bud look about 50/50 clear and cloudy. The outter buds are probably more like 30/70 and have a lil bit to go yet. Being that trichs are starting to get cloudy, do you think it would be good to stop nutes and begin flushing? Figuring I may be still be at least 2 weeks or so out yet, but obviously want to give enough time to flush out the salts.

Day 107: Gearing up for harvest, targeting possibly this upcoming Thursday. That also marks 8 weeks into flowering too, so lines up pretty well.

I've been flushing her for a little over a week, so by Thursday she'll have had a good 2 weeks of flushing out the salts and using up the last of the nutrients. Her smell is super strong and sweet. Pistils are mostly orange and curled, a few white ones left. Trichs are probably about 80% cloudy, 10-20% clear and a few stray amber. So she's looking fairly close, just going to be keeping a close eye on her.

Feel free to share and tips or learnings from past harvests, advice is always welcome!

Day 108: Got a few harvesting questions for all you seasoned growers out there. Trying to figure out what is bro science vs actual science lol. Looking at the trichs, I'm thinking of harvesting possibly Thursday this week.

1. When do you all water last before harvest? I'm seeing around 12-24 hours or so before chopping.

2. Is a dark period actual worth it? I've seen people say anywhere from 1-3 days (typically 24 hours). I feel like 3 days is a bit extreme.

3. Do you all chop your branches or hang as a whole plant? Last time I chopped my branches, but saw a lot of people hanging the whole plant to dry first. Think I may go this route this time.

Any other advice or tips are greatly appreciated!

Looking great! I've read a lot about that dark before the harvest stuff, but i don't see any real evidence. I know certain practices are meant to trick the plant into thinking some environmental factors are at play.. like stem splitting increasing trichome production as a natural pest defense, makes sense...

What would a dark period trick a plant into thinking? 3 days of dark doesnt sound like anything a plant would see in the real world.

I know there are some people here that have wayyy more info than i do. I think @GNick55 has mentioned this in his thread a couple times. No real evidence to support the benefits of a dark period before harvest.

Thanks for the quick reply, as always! But that makes sense. I'm too new and nervous to try stem splitting or anything like that haha but may in the future.

How about water saturation level at harvest and having whole plant vs branches? Any benefits to one way or the other on these?

If you wanna read more about stem splitting, @Captspaulding has a bunch of great reading on his threads.

I'm not sure about the whole plant vs branches. I'm in a scrog net so... i think i'll be cutting out branches regardless lol. Wont be able to pull the net off without smashing up some buds, so i wont try.

I know a lot of people dry out a bit before harvest, But i'd need to read a lot more before i make my decision. Lol got a few weeks left for mine. I know someone else will have some solid advice here
