Weighing the nursery pots or solo cups can be helpful. Start with moist soil and weigh the container when planting the seed. That provides a baseline. Then use that to figure out how much water is being lost from transpiration, respiration and evaporation. Lifting the pot works, too, but isn't as exact. I suspect minor changes can be important for seedlings.
i do weigh my pots thank you very much

Some strains are slow af. It’s really subjective to planting depth, your gear, indica/sativa ect.
I grew this same Northern Light sees batch last year and it was normal like the other 2 strain seeds started.

It looks like the green Codys are still just below the surface. This seed is behaving very weak.

Since NL was one of the main reasons I started this grow I tossed another seed in water Tuesday night.

After 24 hours in water in a dark caninet, move to damp paper towel. I’m using MrGreenJeans method on utube btw.

Seed on wet 1/2 sheer PT.

I def don’t bag, I usually I use two dinner plates, with the top plate moved slightly off center to allow airflow.
Try that if it still wants to play Murphys law…..

I thing the blown up bag just keeps the humidity up. Humidity in my room is low like 35%.

So took a peak this morning on NL 1.0 seedling. A little green showing but should have popped up by now or a few days ago 😝

Putting tail straight down or should I have the seed shell in a particular direction? Not sure it should matter.

I've recently been considering the orientation of the seed when it's planted in soil. The one in the picture looks like the tap root was pointed upward, so it had to turn 180º around, and that (theoretically) made it difficult for the cotyledon leaves to break through the soil because they also had to turn 180º around. The next time I start seeds in soil, I'm going place the hinge side of the hull pointing upward to see if that makes a difference.

I always plant with the tap root tip pointing down. Even if it's U-shaped, they always swing up for me and haven't seen a seed grow upside down yet. Pretty much just like you did by the looks of it in the picture.

Highly recommend watering with only a spray bottle with bottled spring water during the germination and seedling stages to help prevent overwatering.

Damn that looks like my Gorilla fail a few months ago. The cotyledons in the seed head separated and just had a stump that looked like that.

Am I seeing that correctly?

i see this mentioned here,
there is no such thing as hot soil other than temperature, proof to me with anything from anywhere that explains hot soil as in nutrients and not from a blog/thread..
what is happening if it is, a human issue with watering too frequently releasing more and more nutrients burning the plant,.

I use to be one of those people that said that but you're absolutely right, I seen that information on a blog/thread multiple places so you think it's true.

It was you or another member here that I seen talking about it actually being human error, made me rethink everything I've read before.
