I believe that dude because im across the mountain in va and i really think i was gifted a few grams of it as recent as 2018. I was on a 20 year hiatus smoking at the time so i had no idea it was rare lol

I would imagine over there was alot like here, we were in skunk up to our eyeballs in the 90’s. I had no idea that fruity skunk existed until a couple years ago

Im very inclined to believe Mr Mabely. He is corroborating some things from that old audio guy i knew, or at least feel he is from memory. I tended to take what Tom said about his plants with a grain of salt at the time, we drank beers and he would just ramble back and forth with me (Me rabmle? hard to believe right?) and keep the beer flowing. I tended to default to the info i was getting from an equally oldhead woman in the KC commercial growing scene. She was actively trying to recreate the old skunks as an afghani/mexican F1 land race cross.

As soon as he mentioned the name noodles, and dudes afghani. And Columbian had been mentioned already, i had a total AHA moment personally. It's not exactly a mystery to me anymore why my peaceblaster went so skunky either. That columbian had a sharp noxious earthy must to it, but wasnt straight skunk next road over like the PB's often turn out. (no complaints, was very welcomed lmao)

Im not gonna say that RKS was prolific here, but i do think the pheno pops up from time to time in these hills . There are old hippies that have been running the same lines for longer than ive been alive. We never had a big selection until recently.

Man the wax that columbian made, although low in yield, was probably some of the best dab ive ever had in my life. Took about 9 grams to get a gram of concentrate, but it was crazy potent, and the high was that old giggly chuckle/shit eatin grin you never get anymore.

Most the peaceblasters have kept that smiley, giggly quality to the flower, but you can actually get it without having to make concentrate if you had a tolerance. And it's something most all the skunky flowers ive smoked usually have too. We had that columbian tested a few times in KC. Highest it ever tested as 12%. Always had 5-15% CBN content though When cbd was higher thc was lower. convinced me that giggly smile comes from CBN being present with THC. I think there is some chemistry going on in the columbian/skunks that decarbs, and then breaks down the THC at a faster rate then normal while the plant is still alive.

Those dabs made from columbian were prob near 1:1 thc:cbn (not cbd lol)

As far as the high from the skunks go, thats my theory there. I'd bet they generate CBN in meaningful, appreciable amounts. many dispos and commercial growers dont even have tests for CBN done, because high CBN can be seen as meaning lower quality, sine it's a by product of thc being broken down and oxidized. That creeper skunk high, imho, is actually a result of the CBN presence. It takes longer after a rip to feel the full effects, but its smoother and more enjoyable when you do because of it.

I've never seen the old sativa dominant skunks growing in person, but I have seen the indica dominant one up here in the northeast in the late 80s & 90s. I can pinpoint that one in a lineup, but not the sativa one.

The "roadkill" skunk clone that I picked up is in veg right now, but rubbing the leaves makes me gag, it's disgusting and overpowering. Smells like a dead animal and a minty skunk. It came from VA so I'm wondering if this is the same Skunk you guys are talking about. I thought that maybe it was the Skunk1 roadkill but I don't know it's lineage. It makes more sense that it's the one you guys know, as opposed to coming from out West. Do these leaves look familiar at all?

Yeah taking clones this week. The Super Skunks I picked up just before this Skunk are much bigger and clones have already been taken and rooted. Will be running both side by side.

i got a couple peaceblasters dooing the same thing, outsoors in veg. If i brush up against the leaf margins or stems the smell stains my clothes for a while. I can smell em easy from about 10-12 feet away in a light breeze already. Is straight up like a skunk sprayed a dog the next road over. The strongest smelling one is a creeper pheno growing out as fast as up too. Love the zig zag dance, one of my favorite things to see on a plant.

Have 2 phenos of the 79 FL Skunk s1 from Sunshine but haven't flowered them yet.

Pheno #1: Crazy leaves. Heavy grease, funky onion, burnt rubber, fuel smell on leaf rubs and it burns your nose. Bushy structure with some stretch.

Pheno #2:
Bean pole structure. Similar smell but more on the onion side and not as strong.

So far, the people on this forum growing the '79 & '79 crosses from Katsu didn't find skunk, neither did anybody in Katsu's lounge.

I got the '79 seeds from Sunshine State not Katsu, but I haven't flowered it yet. It smells like onions, garlic, and burnt rubber in veg, but not sure what that will turn into during flowering.

Guttergas is floral fermented fruit and absolutely nothing stanky. Very loose fluffy stretchy and delightful smelling.
