Definitely larger than what you need. What are those, 3 gallon nursery pots? I'd up to 5 and proceed as planned. Won't hurt either way. I prefer to up pot in stages, I get much denser root balls this way. Usually from 1 gal to 3 gal to 5 gal to 7 gal or larger for final. What I usually get is layers on top of layers of solid root walls that, when the plant is finished, is usually so dense I have to literally beat the shit out of them with a sledgehammer to break it up 🤣
I just had the idea that the less i transplant the less i will stress them out
And the better they will grow
Just my thougt👊

It all depends. I never have any hiccups transplanting but I've been doing it for a very long time, too. My transplants never miss a beat not a wilt or problem at all. I think it's due to the fact that I am very careful, I use hard pots so the root ball slides right out, I pack the sides in very tight, and water them in very well. I usually wait until the pot is fairly dry, before transplanting, too, as the whole root ball seems to come out easier dry than wet. I'm just really careful and try to move as fast as possible. But the most important part imo is watering it in very well after packing.

Anyone here have any experience with making apps for Android/iPhone? More concerned with Android. I'm well versed in many other things computer related, programming, networking, etc. but not so much in making apps.

Reason I ask is I would like to make an app for growing/gardening that doesn't require an Internet connection or account to use and has features we could actually use. I searched through the Google play store and only found a small handful of apps that all suck ass. Would like to try my hand at making a free app that is actually useful.
I would just use python to make a simple GUI if it was me. You can make it for android or whatever so it's compatible. Might need some Javascript for front end it's just a regular program compatible with android OS which is built off of the Linux kernal

Morning all!

Cali blues rockin the tent alone now!

Oh hell Rama! just had a flashback!!
I'm not sure why we used to do it but when we were kids we'd drop acid and go to the drive-ins for the triple header horror movies. It would take a week or two to sleep that shit off.
There was one called "the Brood" that to this day I hear the word brood and my mind goes to that fucked up film

Damn that reminds me about going to see “The Cell” on acid in a theatre. Crazy shit we’d put ourselves through..

My Man @ Deadstill have you ever tried to premoisten your soil with your nutrient mixed water and use your pot as a mold so it fits perfectly in your bigger pot? I like to splash the hole with some mycos as well ? I know that I’m an anal grower lol but it works so well if you have the time. No stress at all. Don’t use this year’s outdoor pics as an example unless you’re looking at my seedling transplants I ripped my bicep muscle try to load a 87 lb soil bale into my wheelbarrow which totally messed up my whole grow this year compared to previous ones. I’m quite sad about it . It really shows if you look at pics from previous years in my pics in comparison . Happy growing everyone!!!

Never tried that! I just fill the bottom first, packing it as tight as I can, sprinkle some mycos, grab the plant, place my hand over the top of the soil so that the stalk is between my middle and ring fingers, carefully flip upside down and pull the pot off with my other hand, then carefully place it in the new pot, and start adding handfuls of dirt around the sides, stopping to sprinkle more mycos as I go, and gently but firmly packing the dirt with my knuckles, all around the sides. I really pack it in tight, and cram as much dirt in there as I can without disturbing the established root ball. Then I just water it in until it's completely saturated usually with a light feeding or just plain water. Usually see increased vigor and new growth within 24 hours every time.

I do the same but with the peat I only mildly pack it, as it settles as I top water, I top off with more peat until it’s where it wants to be and soil is level where I want it. Almost a always a big jump within 24-48 like you said.
I usually water in with something like microbe brew or the Advanced nutrients OG tea

I also use hard pots at least until final pot, I never transplant out of a fabric pot, too much root damage for me, maybe it acts as a type of root pruning to promote new growth but I like painless seamless transplants with no slowdown to plant growth

@Mikedin Who is the breeder for Cali Blues? I must have missed that if it was posted at some point but trying to Google Cali Blues is about as useful as searching for the cause of your symptoms when you feel sick 🤣 ✌️
