I would definitely try and use tweezers too if you can't get it with your nails.
Alright. Thanks for the inspiration. I use a tiny wire and tweezers and pulled her right out of the soil. 🤣. Since I had her up in the air I was able to remove the helmet. I quickly put her back in the soil and gave it a small pat and spray. I will see how she do.

So barring any unseen fuck ups on my part the perfume tent is now off and running. Fate forced my hand to transplant autos as bitty babies. Maybe they will suck as result of. Either way the tent pots and media will all be ready for the start of the next. 🤞😅🤞. I'm going to spend the next 2 days getting stoned and watching very close.

Let's go!

Woot. Woot. Nice job. Stuff happens too. Getting the hat off was important or there isn't life.

I think you should be fine with the one that had the hat stuck provided no damage was done to the roots. Your cotyledons (first lil leaves) look a little rough, but that's from being stuck. You have true leaves starting so that is a bonus.

Off to the races. May this be your best grow yet.

Bummer that you pulled her out hopefully she survives. Next time spray with water and go in with two tooth pics and try to spread the shell. If it’s still giving resistance spray it again, return and repeat. The goal is to soften the shell and let it come off. It probably wasn’t buried deep enough.

She was dry as a crisp this morning☠️☠️☠️ RIP little one. She was survived by her twin sister NL autos and a single Medusa.

I shifted all seedlings to their pots. I will never do that again but going forward I have more growing gear than I did when I decided to do this so I won't have to worry about a shifting ruckus when I change plans.

I have a loupe now and I can't stop playing with it.

I know I still have a few weeks to go, at least....but that is cool AF!

I'm officially in week 5 of flower. Okay this is not only my first grow but it's the first time I've SEEN this shit so fresh and beautiful growing so I get a crazy excitement as I say this but I'm getting some chunks that will be some of the best stuff I've been lucky enough to smoke yet. I'm grinning ear to ear as I say type this.

Not smoking it yet though so I still gotta put in some work and not screw up.

Hey @AZreefer !

Looking good here !

Amazing buds you're having these, congratulations !

I'm happy to see that you managed to germinate the little ones, I hope they'll quickly grow to fill your bedroom with their delicious smell :)

Cheers

Nice journal AZReefer! I noticed you started this grow and even flipped to flower the same time as my Coco Loco grow....hah!

I'm eager to see how your final weeks in flower go. Your plants seem to be a hair further along than mine. Nice job for your first grow for sure!

Let's go! I thought they were close to twins! That's awesome. Thank you for the compliment!

Week 6 let's go! I'm crazy excited (as usual) about what I'm seeing on my tent. Lots of orange hairs throughout the buds. Almost more orange than blonde at this point. Still more blonde though.

I have a runt I've never really shared much. I fucked her up a bit in veg by breaking a big chunk off like the day before the flip.

She was upset for several weeks but is finally looking like she is going to make a few decent buds.

I had to support several tops this last week so I've had to get clever about supports.

I got some PVC to hold up one and bunch others tied to 12 ga wire. 😂

In the perfume tent it's week 2 and still little seedlings. End of this week should start veg I think. I dunno.

PXL 20240901 154839875
PXL 20240901 154850210

Still blonde. I wait. I look at them so many times when I can. Waiting.

The sticky that I've read about, the stinky smells like such an orgasmicly delicious crisp weed smell that I realized does not wash off after a little defoliating of problem leaves in the morning before work. I could smell it on my fingers for most the day.

I'm making notes for my next grow. I will defoliate harder and lollipop cleaner in all mediums. I have ideas. 😆

Oh wow, how did I miss this update !

They are so beautiful 😍

That's some amazing buds you have there !!!

Congratulations 🥳

The two younglings in the bedroom tent are coming up nicely as well !

Soon you'll need to start thinking about drying, are you going for wet or dry trimming ?

Keep it up !
Peace

Ohhhh you nailed it brother. I have a few ideas but being in hot desert I'm very unsure how I'm going to effectively dry. I would be so very upset if I fuck up and make my weed taste like grass i figure I have about 2 weeks until that part is reality. To complicate things it looks like I have to have to harvest in waves because the buds are all ripening at different rates. That means I can't use the tent. I'm not sure how I'm going to do this part yet.

Hey bro, do you have a humidifier? If you do, you could set it to about 55-60% and just close the tent up. Might be able to get away with drying and growing at the same time lol possibly

If you have low humidity in your home/grow space I would recommend you cut the whole plant at the base. Do not part it out or piecemeal it. Remove some or all of the large fan leaves if you'd like, but depending how dry your atmosphere is leaving them on may help slow the dry. Anyway just hang the whole plant upside down where you choose to dry. A small room will be best as the drying of the plant itself will boost the humidity somewhat in a small space such as a closet or pantry.

With all the stems/larger branches, and leaves still attached to the plant the water will disperse much more evenly through the plant. As the buds dry out they will continuously be pulling more moisture from the vascular system of the plant as it depletes itself of water.

To test for adequate dryness take one of the spindly little stems and quickly snap it. You want to hear an audible 'crisp' or even a good snap. Bonus points if it literally snaps in half. ONLY APPLY THIS RULE TO TEENY DINKY TWIGS. If you can snap one of the larger stems you've likely gone too far. There will still be some residual moisture in the larger stems that they will remain pliable.

I've managed slow dry many times but also have had bud dry out in as few as four or five days. I've never had any grassy bud. At that point it's just a matter of a nice slow cure. Jar or bags or buckets. Whatever you choose just monitor the moisture content of the buds with your fingers. I don't rely on a hygrometer. Much easier to tell with your hands and everyone has different preferences of how dry or how sticky. Me personally I probably keep my bud more moist than most people. I like them joints to roll themselves LMAO.

Alright. Entire plant it is.

I think it's going to be very close to that because the easiest room to control the humidity in is the grow room. I'm thinking a window unit.....wait but that screws my light tight window....🤔

Maybe something like let the first plant that ripens stay in until the last plant hits the first part of the harvest window then chop them all so I can dry in the tent. But I'm so paranoid of fucking it all up. 😂 I feel so indecisive and clueless.

Duuuude im the same way lol every time im trimming or changing anything im always asking 100billion questions and way overthinking things like crazy

I'm going to get an ac unit and exhaust out the window of the grow room so I can drop just that room to 60. Window unit or portable I'm not sure yet. Whatever I can find the best deal on. Probably a portable because I don't like lifting heavy shit when I'm not at work.....yeah. so I'm going to get a portable AC unit for the grow room to do a nice slow dry. That gives me 2.5 weeks until I can get that. But that should be about week 8 or 9 of flower so it could be perfect timing.

Lefty and righty are looking good. Day 10. I'm liking this show.
They already have little leaves under their first nodes. So cute!

I've ousted plants from my space to the great outdoors when I need the space to be evacuated for drying. If the weather is fair and it isn't too cold I would not hesitate to let a plant finish up outside. The plants are so hardened off and covered in resin by late flower I don't even think it stresses them much. If anything some cool nights and you'll get some beautiful fall colors.

Don't overthink. Drying and curing is definitely one of the most important steps to achieving high quality bud but it is by far the hardest. You've had great results with the cultivation part, I think you're golden. Biggest thing is avoid overdrying. Under-dried bud is a super easy fix as long as you keep mold away....overdried bud ain't good for much other than edibles.

Portable AC to dry the plants, they are being pampered ! 😁

I'll probably have to do the same though...
32° in the tent during the afternoon 🫠

I hope it will work smoothly for you !!

I put a portable ac unit trying to fight the temperature. It didn’t work for me. It made my hvac system wreak havoc. I didn’t change my house temperature on the hvac thermostat , the entire house was freezing, the tile was ice cold, the unit was running more often than it should almost constantly. The portable unit made a loud high pitched noise that still gives me nightmares. My grow room is right in front of one of the air filters and was sucking up that cooler air. It’s a trane and they have all kinds of sensors at the air handler, pan, and even the outside compressor housing. What ever it was had my house thermostat still saying it was 73 when the hydrometer which was correct had the temp in the 60s. Oh and I ended up with spider mites after which I suspect came from the exhaust ducting, or maybe Home Depot.
