OMG! I am NOT very happy right now! I am not sure which plant it came from but I have a seed. I am concerned as all I have pruned so far are a few small stems with small buds. The rest are still drying.

So are all my plants ruined? These are all suppose to be female seeds. I have never seen any sign of seeds in the growth process.... but honestly was not looking or concerned since they were all female.

If one plant seeds then they all seed right?

I still have a few days before I start to trim for jars.... I really hope they are not all ruined.
Harvested my first grow i found a seed

I thought I had tasted a seed when I was trying this. Now I know I did with this find. No, it's not smoke worthy but I am out and wanted to try this. LOL. Still really wet, even the small stems I cut from the main to dry faster. 1st hit good, rest not so much... even the tiny bottom buds pack a punch so I am hopeful for the larger, fully developed buds. But I have to say... I do not care how good it might get, seeds ruin this for me. I spent a hell of a lot of money on tent, seeds, nutrients, electricity to have SEEDS!!!!!!! 🤬🤬🤬

Once I find which plant this came from I will be filing a complaint with the seed company. Sad thing is, I just ordered more seeds from them 😣😫

I guess on the positive, If I have seeds, I do not have to spend money on that for a while. 😱

Finding seeds in fem plants is a bummer. Sounds like you don't know yet if you had one pollen sac or nanner, or many. You'll find out once you trim the rest of the harvest, but finding a few seeds in our buds isn't uncommon, even with feminized seeds. It's easy to miss a pollen sac or nanner, and if you do, you'll likely get some seeds. It's difficult to know with certainty why a plant herms. Every cannabis plant has the potential. Some genetics are more prone to it than others. It can also be a stress response to light issues, environmental issues, etc. Pollen sacs tend to be genetic. Nanners tend to be a stress response. But I don't think either are 100%.

Not yet.... but if one plant seeds won't it pollinate the rest? How do I look for these while growing and stop them before it ruins the crop?
It depends how much pollen is/was in the tent, which depends on how many pollen sacs or nanners you have. If you found a seed, at least one sac/nanner released its pollen. Nothing to do about that now. The first thing I would do is thoroughly inspect the plants, and carefully remove any sacs or nanners you find, hopefully before they release their pollen. The sacs will usually be in the lower growth. The nanners will be in the buds. If you find a lot of open sacs or nanners, and especially if you see a lot of white/yellow powder below them, then there will likely be a lot of seeds. But if it's just one or a few, it might not be so bad.

I hate to say it, but if you're only a few days from harvest, whatever was going to happen, has happened.

I had an entire tent full of seeds. It happens.
This does not bother you? It bothers me. We pay more for female seeds to avoid this. If this was a cash crop it would be ruined. I have not seen a seed in my purchases in over 10 years. No one wants weed with seeds.

Even though this is a personal grow, I was at least hoping to sell a little to help pay for nutrients and the electricity bill. LOL. Hell, the past two months my electric bill jumped to over 200.00. 😱

I found this article... https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/us/blog-cannabis-plants-male-female-and-hermaphrodite-n513

Down the page there is this disturbing information.....

"Can You Tell the Sex of a Cannabis Seed?

No. Believe us, we’d be thrilled if this was the case!"

Ok, you have a company claiming to sell feminized seeds and yet there is an article on that same seed site saying the above. WTF?!?!?! So we pay for for feminized seeds with no guarantee they are in fact female. WOW!!! 🤬

I am a little pissed ATM.... Christ, all the money I spent on this grow only to get seeds.....! F#$&!!!!!!!

I do not have a "oh well, what can you do?" attitude. I expect to get what I pay for!!! 😡😤

They're saying that you can't tell the sex by looking at the seed. Every seed company would say the same thing. Feminized seeds aren't made by picking the female seeds out of a batch of mixed seeds. Feminized seeds are made by forcing female plants to create pollen. No males are involved, so there aren't any Y chromosomes available to make male seeds. They know their seeds are all female, because the parents are both female.

If you've been growing for 10 years and this is the first time you've seen seeds in feminized plants, you're a good grower.

By simply looking at a seed, you can not tell the sex. That's all that means in the above referenced article.

The way they make feminized seeds is a different process entirely.

In the above referenced article, it tells you how to prevent hermies or bananas. Could've been stress or genetics.

I wouldn't be too upset from 1 seed. Check through your plants when they are dry enough to do so. Maybe it was only 1. If they are full of seeds, this was an expensive lesson on how a plant hermies, but I wouldn't say it is the seed banks fault. I don't think you received a male seed, you would've noticed long before harvest.

No, this is my 1st grow (see title 😉). In the past 10 years that I have been purchasing weed from the streets.... I have not had seeds in my purchase(s).

So if I am reading this correct... since all my plants were female then this is a feminized seed that I have on my tray?

There really should be warnings that seeds can happen with the feminized seeds we purchase don't you think? I would have never thought to look for seeds (or sacks) in a female plant. I watched everything for this grow.... temp, humidity, nutrients, light, examined the plants with a lupe almost daily looking for milky..... I put in a LOT of work with these plants.

I feel cheated.

Is there really only 1? 🤣

I will be getting in there today to do some trimming. I have been meaning to go in and trim down some fan leaves. My time has been tight with work so not had a chance to do that yet. Almost afraid to go in there... I almost don't wanna know if they all have been affected.

Let's be pragmatic. You have seeds. I too found a bugger in my sample.

The sample was tasty af. So we got some seeds? We can smoke it. I am chopping in the next 2 weeks. I can't find visual evidence of any seeds. No nanans but there is that fat girl staring at me. I put her in a jar.

Fren,

Don't feel cheated. Feminized seeds are made from female plants only. Meaning, that strictly female DNA made the seeds you planted.

It is weird to think about, but that's how it works.

So, I'm going to be positive in your situation and say yes, only one seed. Or maybe a few more, but I don't think you have an entire tent full of seeds.

Keep us updated. And, remember we grow because we love the plant. Most of us love learning too, even if it costly.

I'm sending some divine feminine energy to you and your tent that is drying. 🖤🖤🖤

I'm still too wet to tell any real flavor. I did sample some (how I found the seed).... good 1st hit in... exhale and those hits there after taste like crap. Buzz mild but there. These were the baby buds on the bottom of the plant.... the ones that people usually use for cannabutter or edibles. Figured they would dry faster and wanted a taste LOL.

But then again.... whether it affects the quality of the weed is really nor the issue... my issue is I didn't want seeds. I already have my seeds for my next grow too.... I would have tried a different company finding these. We will see what this next grow does. If nothing else, I will categorize these seeds and grow these plants again. Plants themselves were nice grows... good buds... no issues with the plant except the seeds :(

Oh i agree! I didn't want seeds. Or rot or bugs or any newbie water mistakes...but I also didn't want to pay for experimental outdoor grows.

Hahahaha...save all your seeds and germinate them in a cup of water and dump them in random spots outdoors that they might have half a chance. Jane-weed-seed the countryside!

Thanks 👍 I am hoping for the best. Yes, I love the plant, the grow was fun, a lot of work but fun..... Along with the love of the plant, I love the effect of the plant 😁

I don't like cleaning seeds though.... or even worse, missing one and smoking it. OMG I get such headaches from smoking seeds.
