My

Question is a little different ,but when you take off those small stars coming in below can you use those as a clone ,and it hormone on and start new plant from.?

JoAnn
If you cut them during flower, and get them to root, they grow super branchy and crazy but it takes sooooooo long for them to start.

Look into monstercropping.

Everything looks good to me. Some strains/phenos have airy buds, some have the dense buds. Light can affect bud formation but I tend to see damage on leaves before on the flowers themselves. If heat is not part of the light intensity, I have seen pistels that will curl over the top of the calyxes to build a barrier against the light for protection. I don't see them saying from the light. So the one plant you are concerned with I would lean more towards genetics.
Thanks man. I just wasn’t sure if maybe I should feed just that one a little more than the rest or not, but I’ll give it a little time. Maybe gonna use a bat guano tea do I don’t burn anything.

If you take a cutting it will root fairly quickly, then take about 30 days with lights on 24/7 for it to reveg, this is called SuperCropping. When the clone starts producing normal leaves for the strain, it will be a unmanageable bush. It is best IMO to take cuttings from this and discard the revenged plant.
Or prune the living bejesus out of it and send it to flower.

So…I was laying in bed this morning thinking about that “slower” plant like what the heck could be the reason (since that’s what any good grower does when they open their eyes in the morning ha ha ha) and it sort of dawned on me that this spread out along the stem, alternating little nuggets growth pattern is probably from the OG Kush in the lineage!

Not sure if you guys have ever grown an OG that grows like and OG, but the little nuggets that dense up, but get spread out on the stem is just how it grows due to the sativa influence from probably like a chem or something, and an indica influence somehow so the plant thinks I need to grow tall and spread my nodes out, but I also need to grow dense buds, and this is the genetic compromise.

I’m like 99.9% sure that’s what’s up.

I checked the strain info just to be extra sure again and it’s Lemon OG x Strawberry sativa.

Aaaaand this always seems to happen to me any time I decide to run seeds, but the one that’s growing super dense and heavy just smells like sort of gassy hash…nothing fancy…but the one that’s growing smaller and sparser smells like legit fresh strawberries!! I even pulled my wife in to double check my nose out of excitement because I’ve never seemed to manage to get one to smell exclusively like strawberries!! It’s always really faint behind some traditional weed smell.

Along this same line of thinking, I will tell you guys this as well…

Humboldt Seed Co has a blueberry muffin I believe it’s called that we grew out this past outdoor season, and honest to god it smells exactly like blueberry muffins!!! I never in my lifetime thought that we would live in a world where these genetics would be opened up by so many different breeders and people at such a scale that we would start finding these unicorn plants that smell like apple pies or blueberry muffins or pineapples!!

I’m just amazed and really excited to see what the future holds with this plant’s genetics!!

The whole diploid/Triploid thing is interesting too…I’ve seen some crazy stuff if you haven’t looked into them yet.

I’ll stop rambling now ha ha ha.

Have you guys ever find a way indoors to deal with the undergrowth that doesn’t seem to get much light, but it’s too close to the top to pull off? Just wonder if I should leave it alone and see what happens or hack some more off! Outdoors it’s never really an issue because the sun will get to it at that level! Like how the photo shows the top, and then when you move it back, you have lots of lighter green growth! Seems pretty dicey!

Promise that’s my last post for now ha ha ha.

Sorry!

🙏 thanks

I’m just constantly reminded of why I like clones ha ha ha!

I haven’t ran a seed in a long time, and I just can’t stand the diversity!
Yeah the diversity is both an irritation and a asset. I enjoy searching for the pheno that I'm going to keep but it's never what I'm expecting it to be.

Yeah.
You make a solid point here!
The keepers always present themselves in a way that you weren’t expecting!
I actually had a couple clones grown outside with all the same stuff, but one was under a shade cloth on the greenhouse, and the shaded one smelled like grape soda, but the other one was typical for the strain…like a chemical skunk ha ha ha.
So phenotype can present in different ways with the same genotype!

I always like to think about it like wine grapes, and how grapes grown in France are special due to the environment…because if I grow the same variety in my backyard….wont be the same ha ha ha

So today is day 42 and everything is looking awesome, but the aromas just aren’t there.

I’ve been keeping the VPD in check at 1.4 with little deviation, haven’t blasted them with 1500 PPFD, nutritionally sound, great additives, solid watering practices, and 4 or so hours a day of MIGRO UVB…

So I’m stumped on that one…

But the cool thing is that if you smell each plant, they all smell different ha ha ha. Same strain…five smells…burn your nose gasoline, sweet berries, lemon spice, like a musky blueberry, and skunky hazey je ne sais quoi ha ha ha.

The UVB does make a bud difference in resin production as far as I’m concerned as well.

I upgraded my self watering wicks to a self watering microfiber mat full of wicks that has a thicker mat on top, and it’s working really great some how ha ha ha.

I’ve seen first hand this first indoor grow how one false move can cost you dearly, even if it’s in veg! I broke a main branch on a plant like a week before the flip, and thought that it’d be fine…that plant is now the smallest of the lot!

My only real point of concern is this super sativa pheno that keeps on stacking like old Maui Wowie or something with these wispy little budlets that keep growing up and up and up! Still producing new leaves in week 7! I’ll post photos to see if anyone out there can relate because it’s funky! I bet the smoke will be mind melting though…give you a panic attack ordering at McDonalds ha ha ha.

I’ll post more when they’re at the very end, but I just wanted to post where things are somewhere, and this seemed to be fitting!

Can you where’s Waldo the sativa leaning pheno? Ha ha ha!

Side note…I feel like these big corporate seed breeders just reverse a halfway decent plant, and buy expensive cuts from someplace to throw pollen on, and sell them as is ha ha ha.

How else do you explain 5 different phenos from 5 seeds?

2-3 I can understand, but at least two should be similar in the exact same environment!

Maybe I’m crazy or asking for too much…

Ordered some F8 Freakshow seeds that look like ferns, and if they’re not all pretty uniform from seed…I quit the seeds ha ha ha.

I have a SkyWalker OG that does something similar. High is good yield is okay, so I keep it around.

Just now looking at this, but look at how much the density of LEDs and the quality of light differs from a super cheap light to a more expensive one ha ha ha. Maybe I’m just dumb and uneducated on the matter, but looks like I pretty big jump!

I had a Skywalker OG Runtz that also did the same. And runtz tends to do it when its hot (which is not good but well, happens without AC). The good thing about foxtail weed is that you can very easily remove all the internal leaves of the bud and smoke pure bud (calyxes). I disect my buds to get as many leaves as I can out because Im asthmatic and foxtail weed is a walk in the park in comparison.

Thanks for all the responses guys!

I think that it’s basically still growing somehow ha ha.

Like new bud leaves and upward growth…

Because it SEEMS like it gets real sparse at the top, and then fills in sort of, but keep growing more to be sparse again ha ha.

I even measured and it has grown like 1.5-2 inches in week 7!!

And I know it’s not a too much light issue because one of the buds is shaded by a fan and it’s doing the same thing…

I started inspecting further down the plant, and most of them seem to be filling out pretty okay if we’re talking for a sativa leaning bud ha ha.

But…

There’s one fatter bud in the middle lower down that has a couple little foxtails that makes me second guess everything I just said ha ha ha.

And looking at them side by side is just depressing…

Maybe it’ll just take longer to finish?

🤷🏻

Love these plants!

I’ll take photos…

Also…

If you haven’t tried out these UVB fluorescent tubes…

I’m sold on them!

I just feel like having so many different phenotypes that there would be at least one that doesn’t produce as much resin, but I’m attributing the sheer amount to the UVB, but my only complaint is that it’s supposed to increase terpenes as well, but this crop has very little smell unless you really agitate the buds!

You should at least try it!
