So…I was laying in bed this morning thinking about that “slower” plant like what the heck could be the reason (since that’s what any good grower does when they open their eyes in the morning ha ha ha) and it sort of dawned on me that this spread out along the stem, alternating little nuggets growth pattern is probably from the OG Kush in the lineage!
Not sure if you guys have ever grown an OG that grows like and OG, but the little nuggets that dense up, but get spread out on the stem is just how it grows due to the sativa influence from probably like a chem or something, and an indica influence somehow so the plant thinks I need to grow tall and spread my nodes out, but I also need to grow dense buds, and this is the genetic compromise.
I’m like 99.9% sure that’s what’s up.
I checked the strain info just to be extra sure again and it’s Lemon OG x Strawberry sativa.
Aaaaand this always seems to happen to me any time I decide to run seeds, but the one that’s growing super dense and heavy just smells like sort of gassy hash…nothing fancy…but the one that’s growing smaller and sparser smells like legit fresh strawberries!! I even pulled my wife in to double check my nose out of excitement because I’ve never seemed to manage to get one to smell exclusively like strawberries!! It’s always really faint behind some traditional weed smell.
Along this same line of thinking, I will tell you guys this as well…
Humboldt Seed Co has a blueberry muffin I believe it’s called that we grew out this past outdoor season, and honest to god it smells exactly like blueberry muffins!!! I never in my lifetime thought that we would live in a world where these genetics would be opened up by so many different breeders and people at such a scale that we would start finding these unicorn plants that smell like apple pies or blueberry muffins or pineapples!!
I’m just amazed and really excited to see what the future holds with this plant’s genetics!!
The whole diploid/Triploid thing is interesting too…I’ve seen some crazy stuff if you haven’t looked into them yet.
I’ll stop rambling now ha ha ha.
