First time grow; leaves losing their color

It's Ocean forest. see that was my concern with using Reverse Osmosis. I was worried id be stripping everything from the water. But the tap water where I live in Wisconsin, is really high In ph. Like 8.5

Get some ph down, normally phosphoric acid, your local water company has a breakdown of what’s in the water, usually on-line, that’ll give you a baseline of what’s in your water, mineral-wise. Adjusting ph is easy. You may still need calmag, but potentially not as much.

Okay will do. I figured running the lights at 100 percent would be best. I'll turn then down a little bit. I just don't want to lose too much temp. If the temp gets any lower id have to add a heater. And id prefer not to do that.

I think thats your problem, too much light intensity for a small plant, first thing the plant does is lock out nitrogen, so the leaves go light green , then it locks out potassium which casues the yellowing along the leaf edges and probably the curling .
Ive got just one marshydro 1000 running at 50% for veg then probably 75% for the first half of flower then 100%,

I think thats your problem, too much light intensity for a small plant, first thing the plant does is lock out nitrogen, so the leaves go light green , then it locks out potassium which casues the yellowing along the leaf edges and probably the curling .

I'll probably get rid of the 100 watt light I have in there. For now at least. Means I'm going to have to put a small heater in my tent. That added light was the only thing keeping me above 70 degrees.

Here's an update on the plants. They look a little more chipper today. Just got the cal mag in the mail. Will be adding it to my next watering.

Update: got a space heater and temp/humidity controller. Been using cal mag every water and also started feeding nutrients two days ago.

Also started low stress training and defoliation a few days ago. Plants seem to be responding well to the temperature increase and nutrients.

Update: Plants are looking better. Have fox farm liquid nutrients coming in the mail today.

Hoping things continue looking better so I can have these girls in flowering soon. The low stress training has provided a lot more shoots for bud development... So that's a plus.

Despite the fact that you cant reverse the damage done in the leaves its looking good, they grew quite a bit so I guess that theyre doing fine inside of their capabilities . At least theyre not heavily stunted still so thats a good sign. I think you should be able to flower soon, as soon as youre satisfied with the size pre-stretch.

So leaves can not regain color? Even slightly yellow leaves?

But yes, I've seen lots of new growth in just the last few days. I'm hoping the fox farms liquid nutrients are the final solution to my problem.

It was mentioned earlier that I was over watering but I've been increasing my watering frequency and have seen better results. I've been watering almost every other day for the last week with about half a gallon per plant.

Apparently with fabric pots it's quite hard to over water. And for me, that has proven to be true so far. I have not watered since day before yesterday, so I'm excited to pump some well regarded nutrients in these babies

No, sadly leaves cannot regain color but the fact that they didnt get worse is a good sign. Still, for flower fan leaves are not a big deal after the 3rd week. Many will be lollipoped, some people even remove them all towards the end. New leaves however should come good, if they dont there might still be something going wrong. The small leaves are the important ones for flower.

Maybe they need more water since you defoliated them and they were growing but be careful with that, always lift the pots if you can and get used to know when they need water by weight because their needs will change. After defolation if theyre not stunted they drink more, the first 3 weeks of flower they also drink more, heavy stretch but towards the end of the grow they start drinking less.

I use fabric pots and I have overwatered and damaged my plants but theyre way safer than plastic pots and even if you over water and damage the plant its very hard to kill the roots because the excess humidity gets evaporated quicker.

That said Im glad to know that theyre liking what youre doing! It shows, they recovered and have grown quite a bit.

Yeah my plan is to give them some nutrients and see how the look in a week. next week marks two months veg. If the plants are responding well to the nutrients I will put them in flowering end of next week. I'd like to be smoking on these girls before end of summer

Also, I was concerned about removing too many leaves when the plants are in recovery. I didn't want to stress the plants out more than what they already were/are.

With defoliation and low stress training going on while I'm trying to make the plants recover... I'm honestly surprised they are pulling through as well as they are.

Once I get another tent I have seeds from a buddy in Europe that I'm dying to get going. As you seen in the other pictures, I have pepper plants that also came all the way from the Czech Republic.

Some of the seeds are damaged. They came a long way across the ocean. But getting over 40 seeds for free from another country is awesome. Definitely liking the Afghani kush and Tropical Pine. Will be germinating these babies asap.

I had an overwater issue in my last grow coupled with a water drain issue that cost me some weed first run. Mine also kept loosing color even into the sugar leaves in the flowers. Got real ugly and I also lost a bit to an agressive trim I did not want rank pot. came out fine. Pics in my bio you can sure see good vrs not so good budd.

Got real ugly and I also lost a bit to an agressive trim I did not want rank pot. came out fine. Pics in my bio you can sure see good vrs not so good budd.

In soil it is just that easy. I run Organic so I move up and up until I see drainage lower on the pot and I feel the weight of the pot. By 1.4 to 2.5 liters per 5 gal pot you can feel the weight and the hefty. Now get in the habit of checking them every time. Pot plants can pull a fast one on ya and stop drinking. Or can suddenly really drink. Catch it before ya overwater. A good rule with point on environment appears to be 2-3 day water intervals based on weight.

Looked at your grow. Buds look very nice and frosty. Hope mine turn out that way

I'm wondering if I should trim more leaves off so that my plants look more like yours? Or is that something I would wait to do until I'm in flowering?

Update: No pictures today. But I did switch the lights over to 12/12.

I noticed the humidity was at almost 70 percent when the lights went off and temperature was around 65.

Should I be concerned about such a high humidity now that I switched over to flowering? Or is it not a big deal if it drops back down to 50 percent when the lights come on?

Wondering if I should turn on the heater in the tent to maintain adequate humidity levels.

Update: Start of day two for flowering. Will be transitioning to Tiger Bloom liquid nutrient come next watering.

Still trying to figure out what I'm going to due about high humidity levels at night. Will probably end up putting in a dehumidifier.
