Day 22

DSCI0667

OK good news.
Looks like the early topped one gets new leafs so i topped one more 2nd time.

AND finally all plants ready, and they got some more space.
I gave the ugly one some more soil.

So we got:
1 skunk No1 female
3 balkh hashplant
3 durban poison
3 nigerian sativa

Oh btw when i say some got no drainage i mean no clay peppeles in the bottom of the pot. The pot still got holes for drainage.

Day 23

Afghan Balkh region
DSCI0674

Looks like they are getting ready for some fertilizer.
First time trying to train like this.
These indicas here is getting some very strong branches.
The topping went well after all. These two got 2 toppings.

2 nigerian sativa over ground and the 3rd is also showing.

I'm getting a bit hooked on gmonsters floating net and i might try it in this grow.

Day 24

The sativas
DSCI0678

Durban poison on top. Nigerian sativa bottom.

DSCI0677

Getting branches from the energy leafs. I have removed them.

Yeah the indicas need some fertilizer now. I didn't think they needed already, but 25 days have passed, and i flushed the soil beforehand so that make sense. Skunk No1 also need.
I have made some nutes ready for next watering.

On a side note. These afghan balkh indica. I have been smoking them for 2 1/2 months now. First time i have smoked the same for so long without getting tired of it. Only con is i can tell i got a bit more lazy. Thats a good trade off for better sleep and appetite.

Day 25

Looking good'ish
DSCI0682

The five biggest plants have gotten some fertilizer after this picture. Lower leafs fading quick.

Turns out i can't really measure the ppm with my organic nute mix, because it's not converted to salts. That was nice to know.
That means i got to wing it a bit.
I actually think i understand it better now after we talked about ppm in the trainwreck tread. Gave food for thoughts .

So i keep an eye on yellow tips or burned tips for overfeeding and the plant eating the older leafs for underfeeding, to start with.

I'm getting some more pots today. I'm not sure how i will proceed. I got to sex 9 of them.

I also ordered some net fence. 20 meter x 60 cm with 10 x 10 cm mesh, i paid around 20$.
Making some floater net for the sativas, maybe the others too. See how that works.
The floater idea is from gmonster 👍

Day 26

DSCI0684

Looking good. Don't mind 3 of the plants got their leafs got sucked in the vacuum cleaner and broke some leafs. Soil came with gnats.
It seems like the feeding i gave them yesterday was ok.

One bad thing and i don't like it.
I'm gonna up pot in start flower☹️ I don't really see any other options. It so bad but i have to know the gender before i pot up.
Only other option i see is buying 6 more big pots and have 10 big pots before i go 12/12. Then throw the 6 out i don't need.
Beside i dont really have room for 10 big pots. 9 max, and 4 in flower.
Well at least i'm gonna try to be more careful potting up this time. Letting the soil dry more beforehand so it don't break when potting up.
So they all get 2 liters pots, when they arrive, until they show gender.

Day 27

DSCI0700

Nigerian sativa landrace.

Middle one got some narrow leafs. Only 2 of the 10 got water.
Some will get later.

The others looks like it was about time i gave them some nutes, so they are more green now.

I probably get my 2L pots today and also net for scrog, then i'm ready for 12/12 when it's time. Maybe in a week or two.

Remember that when you up pot, you can bury the stalk up to the cotyledons to compensate for the stretched stalks if you think you can benefit from it! Half gallon pots are pretty small! They will keep you stepping and fetching! Change, both good and bad happen fast in small pots! Good luck!

Yes i already put some more soil on top of the pot 👍
And the thing about the 1/2 gal pots. They are only going to stay in them until they show sex. Then i'll take the 4 females i want and put in 6 gal pots.
I know its not a good idea but i can't think of what else to do.

No, that’s a good plan! I would have picked a larger intermediate pot say two or 3 gallons until they sex! They’re a little easier to handle then! I like to get them sexed before they get to the final pot also! Sometimes that can take quite a while so I think they are more comfortable in a little larger pot till that happens if it happens! Lol but you grow indoors and me out door! I think you’re on the right track! But they look kind of like they went on a hunger strike!😁 hope you get that sorted out!👍

To illustrate my point, I popped my beans on April 19! Solos to intermediate where they continued to grow, and I hoped they would sex! Most of them didn’t sex until mid June! And a few went till 1 July! By then they are two and 3 feet tall and like being in a bigger pot! Sometimes it takes them a long time to show sex! Unless you artificially induce it somehow with your lights! With limited indoor space you may eat up a good portion of it waiting for them to sex! Lol! It’s just a big puzzle!

Oh yeah my plan is to go 12/12 in a week or two.
Yes it is a puzzle.
I'm gonna make trouble again potting up when flower starts. Both the root grow slowdown and they also get a big N boost at the same time from the soil it seems.
But i think the sativas gonna be ok after a while. It's more the afghan indica thats gonna be hard.

I’ve never seen them miss a beat after transplanting! But indoors seems to be a lot more sensitive than outdoors! Fear not, the transplant!😂🍻 sometimes it can save your ass! Like when your significant other screams, you love those plants more than me! And you come home from work and your plants look like shit, and she finally cops to pouring a couple of 2 L bottles of Coke into your pots! Lol! Why, I’ll fix that son of a bitches wagon! Grab whatever is at hand and glug, glug, glug! It happens!😆✌️

Day 28

DSCI0706

Potting some of them up today.
The bigger ones gonna be happy about that.
Some are a bit dry because i like that when potting up, so the roots don't break.

I think i put skunk No1 in a even bigger pot because it a fem.

The small Nigerian sativs already looks like sativa. Durban not so much yet.

Also got the fence to make net, so i'm ready.

I’ve never seen them miss a beat after transplanting!
Ha ha ok thats good to know. I somehow got the idea potting up in flower was not so good, but then again, i did it a bit wrong last time.
Yes they look hungry and i think they are.
I'm trying to dial in how much to feed, so i expect some under and over feeding on the way.
Thanks man 👍

The Durban I've ran started off with fatter leaves and then thinned out during flower. Still wasn't the thinnest leaf Satty but was super nice smoke. Had a nice fennel/aniseed vibe. Would love to run out the khalifa Durban and see how it compares to the Dutch Durban.

Keen to see how these turn out.

Quick update.

Transplanting went well.
DSCI0710

After potting i agree the pots are a bit small as oldchucky said but they have to do.
I mixed Leca = clay pepples in the soil. I really needed it.
The roots looked kinda ok but could be more white. The more drainage now might help with that.

Yeah i can see some difference but dang that top looks huge 😲

Here is Kalifas photo of the durban poison.
1774193055684

A little more narrow leafs and smaller buds, but we'll see.

Day 29

They needed that transplant.
DSCI0718

Although yesterday, some hours later after transplant, the two with the wires got weird curly. Looked like some hormone shock, but today they look normal. Even the most ugly one has stiarghent the rippled leafs a bit.

Skunk No1 is already growing, the others not because i topped them again.

Sativas also good. Gonna pot them up soon.
Just gonna relax today after a busy yesterday.

Day 30

DSCI0719

They say that the nigerian, the 3 small ones on the right, gets even more narrow leafs when bigger.

DSCI0721

The Afghan indicas. The topping is finished on 2 of them.
I got to check the soil on the left one. I think there is air pocket on the sides. It was strange to water compared to the two others.

Love the order of biggest to smallest from left to right with the seedlings...found it oddly satisfying haha.
Ha ha now you say it. I feel it too 🥰

Day 31

Durban poison got transplanted yesterday.
DSCI0724

All is growing except for the indicas because they are trying to make some branches to grow from. They can't grow and i think they are in some kind of hormone shock. I think tomorrow they will start and take of slowly. It's because i topped them 3 times as early as i could. 2 of them. Not the middle one.

The 3 nigerian sativa gonna get pots tomorrow i think.
Then i'm even more ready.

Oh the new soil has gnats but i got it under control.

Quick update

I potted the Nigerian sativa anyway.
DSCI0725

(wrong colors, tried to get rid of the over exposure)

Nigerian landrace on the right.
The one in the middle of the nigerian had small roots. Half size from the smallest one. It has been acting different from start. Transplant maybe good.
I thought it was a bit early but the roots were right size for transplant. They are probably gonna take of like the durbans already do.
I got the net ready.

The ugly indica, in the back middle, is coming along slowly. I have removed first set of support leafs.

Skunk No1 gonna be big if it keeps on like this. Actually ready for final transplant.
