Indica Landrace soil + maybe more

How often do you water in between those doses (3400-3700)? I've never used #'s like that, I'm usually running with an aeroponic, hydroponic, dwc kinda hybrid recirculating system. I rarely hit 500 ppm in the reservoir although I've tested 800 if left one...

How often do you water in between those doses (3400-3700)? I've never used #'s like that, I'm usually running with an aeroponic, hydroponic, dwc kinda hybrid recirculating system. I rarely hit 500 ppm in the reservoir although I've tested 800 if left one too many days. Additions vary on the res test and balancing. I often feed a little heavy and just add clean water for days, I've developed cycles with alot of that kinda stuff over the years. Kinda like that stuff too. You're plants look really good? Is it cold in Denmark?🥃 to warm up a bit,
Hey buddy you caught me on the wrong day. I have no idea what you mean and i'm to stoned to look up these hard words.
But i still think i can answer some. I do nothing other than measure. So the nutes is in the soil already.
I water when i feel the pot seems ready when i lift it. But i can water for other reasons too. Some plants i just water everyday.
Denmark can be cold compared to south europe but it's temperated? i would call it.
My plants have had from around 20c to i don't know what because my meter ran out of battery and i can't really do much anyway, so metering is mostly for fun.
You talk about feeding but i don't know anything about it sorry. Just watering now and wing it with something later on, you know. It's organic dry nutes so not much help to get.
Also why you see these ppm i guess but man i really don't know

Anyway thanks man i also gotta admit i'm also a bit drunk today, so sorry for that.
Have a nice weekend😉

Day 26 11/13

DSCI0898

Durban poison now same hight as skunk no1.
Nigerian sativa not at all like last time i grew them.

DSCI0897

Skunk no1 it throwing some yellow leafs from the mid bottom, but it's also most compact there. Not talking about the damaged ones.
I tested runoff so i shouldn't be underfed.
This one probably finish first, then the indicas, then Nigerian sativa and last durban poison.

Oh yeah found camera. I got it pushed under a closet.

Day 27 - 11/13

DSCI0901

All got water. 8-10 liters total. And also today is 60 years survival. Photo dump on that.

DSCI0903

Skunk No1 getting more frosty. 55 cm now

DSCI0905

This happened some time ago on skunk no1.

DSCI0904

Durban poison. Also 55 cm. 12 cm from light. Stil in pre flower'ish. Still havn't removed much. A branch and 3-4 leafs. Waiting a bit more. Probably got a good 90 days left so i'm in no hurry.

DSCI0902

Nigerian sativa. Near 40 cm. Some nice early flowers. Totally opposite form last time i grew them. Gonna be an early finisher. I'm thinking around 65 days. Maybe 70. Crazy 180 days flower last time. It took past 330 days with veg.

DSCI0899

One of the small extra indicas. I just want to show the difference in the flowering. The inner flowers is very small on this one, compared to the outer.

DSCI0900

This one has more same size flowers. Could be because i made this one more level, dragging the tops more down.
If you like compact bushes and little to no stretch, then grow these. Mine are 15 cm and 20 cm. Crazy bonsai. I could grow them in a shoe box.

Day 28 - 11/13

DSCI0907

Week 4 of 11/13
Durban poison (right front) reached 60 cm today so i broke the highest top. I feel it got a couple of days more stretch.
If it wasn't because i made extra effort not to mix up seeds this time i would have guessed the 2 sativas were mixed up except for the late flowering on durban. Crazy small nigerian.
I removed a handful leafs on the afghan in the middle back. It had a lot of hidden buds. It is also very sticky even though it hardly have trichomes. And the smell uhmmmm. Totally different league. The other 2 afghan not so much sticky and smell. At least for now.

DSCI0908

Yesterdays picture was blurry so extra pic of the very white flowering skunk no1. I think i got rid of most of the pop corn on this one. Also still have a lot of 🤬 gnats from that last topping.

And thanks @420Captain @TerpBeans @cpurola 🥰

Day 29 - 11/13

DSCI0913

Adjusted the light a bit 60 - 70.000 LUX on tops.
Removed a handful leafs again today
Durban poison kinda start flower now. Still waiting with removing anything until it show a little more flower (front right)

DSCI0914

I've been testing stuff with the soil this grow because this batch got a lot of gnats.
I did also ruin my testing a bit but that's another story.
Now i got hold on some old matchsticks and i'm testing if they work like they did once.
So i took the Skunk no1 and a small afghan as test subjects.
The skunk no1 because it has crazy many gnats. So i'll test if it removes them. 4 matchsticks in a 5 ish gal pot
The Afghan has few gnats. 3 matchsticks and i'll try to keep the top soil wet or moist to see if it makes more gnats, or the matchsticks keep them away.
I'll wet the matchstick when i water them.
The rest of the plants i just spray with neem after watering them. The 2 with matchsticks will not get neem.

Day 30 - 11/13

DSCI0915

1 month since flip.

Removed a small handful leafs again today.
Also changed the ligt again.
I remembered i'm good at frying my plants, so trying not to.
Around 60.000 LUX on the tops now

Nigerian sativa (middle front) starting with a few trichomes.

One of the 3 afghan is the pheno that smells like very good incense.
The other two actually doesn't smell that good.
But gonna taste good. At least they did last time.

Skunk No1 has some fat trichomes but the smell is strange.
Not a fan and not the skunk no1 smell i remember.
It was just a freebie so can't complain too much.

DSCI0916

Durban poison. I call it start flower.
Looking really promising.
I'm also bending/breaking the tops.
Gonna clean it up a bit when i'm up for it.
Gave it full soak again today. Last watering was too fast for the dry topsoil.

Day 31 - 11/13

DSCI0920

Things filled out nice this time. Could be better but still.

I started removing branches on the durban poison because i felt up for it today. (right front)
Actually a good little handful.
I'm not finished at all, but a little at a time
It also drinks a lot. Feels like 2 liters a day.

Nigerian mid front got top bend/broken today. It's small but i like the budding.
Looking real good so far. Also gonna raise it a bit now it stopped stretching.
Oh yeah i had to water the topsoil on it even though it's a bit bottom heavy.
Don't want a 24 hours watering session again.

DSCI0918

One af the small afghan hash plants getting some sticky. Don't smell good though.
The gnats love it. I have to put a lid on the small pots too but i cant right now because of the wires.
DSCI0919

Better picture of the skunk no1 bud. Also sticky and not good smell.
That can change with some cure i think.
This plant has been least work this grow.
Not last time i try the crucifix training.
Now i look at it. I see the tips. Strange because it has only gotten 2 tsp nutes all grow and that was yesterday.

Day 32 - 11/13

DSCI0933

Durban Poison (right front) was dry again today.
I feel there is something wrong with the soil. Like it doesn't hold very much water after watering.
Strange because it should be around same mix in all pots.

Did more light adjustment because i saw some "neon" green forming on some leafs and the afghan in the middle back started pointing most of the leafs up.

The 2 small afghans to the left has some very early drying pistils.
First i thought it was from me touching it but it's all tops not just one or two.
Come to think of it. They also had a flowering pattern i wasn't used to last time.
F'd me up a bit because i thought they needed more nutes.
Looking forward to see some nice colors on them.
Here is a picture of the two small afghans.
DSCI0934

Ok it's hard to see but the pistils are drying. Actually also on the last one i just saw.
Makes me feel a bit better about it remembering they did that last time too.

And not any gnats on the topsoil in the first plant i put matchsticks in or maybe there was one, and only few in the 2nd.
It's still early days but i leave the top soil moist trying to lure gnats in. And i don't spray the two small ones with neem.
I put the matches 2 days ago and i think i takes a week or so to fully work if it still works.
I try to remember to spray the matches with water every day the first week.
I also have to say that it's only skunk no1 that has a lot of gnats.

Small extra update.

I waited some hours and gave the durban poison 2nd watering today. I think the pot took 2 liters more so something was wrong.

AND sexy time.
Well i made a video of me pollinating the nigerian sativa but it was aimed too high, so only photo.
DSCI0936

One branch only pollinated, hopefully.
But take a look at that structure 👀. And it is a sativa. And a wild one of them. Crazy good pheno i got there so far.
Only 34 cm though after bending the top. I miscalculated how much it would grow, but that's almost impossible anyway with this one.
The durban poison is also looking really promising already. Ehh already, i mean after starting flowering.

Day 33 - 11/13

DSCI0938

Wrong color and it's not at all because i'm stoned or old and confused it was the cameras fault. Trust me bro 🤥
The durban poison got a lot of branches bend.
Things getting a bit more frost.
The indicas makes some sneaky buds. The short branches got a lot of nodes so the budding is a bit different. Deffo need to remove some leafs later in flower and put the fan closer.
They are compact bushes and i like that but sometimes the compact bushes get a bit too damp and then they start.....ok that's another story.

DSCI0937

Skunk No1 the outsider. The stand in for another indica. The semi landrace. Don't get much attention.
I kinda feel sorry for it.
It been so easy. Not complaining. Just minding it self. Frosting nice. Pretty very white flowers. Only little hooking but most is from touching the wall.
We'll see maybe i come to like it.
Anyway i decided that i think it can't be nute burn.
So tomorrow i'll give it 2 more tea spoon. See what happens.
Funny because as i remember it, i gave my 205 grams plant 2 table spoon every watering or maybe it was every 2nd?
If this one don't like to eat what i give it, it's hardly gonna hit 80 g.

Wow all your plants look super healthy. What did you amend your soil with and how often do you add anything, if anything?

Wow all your plants look super healthy. What did you amend your soil with and how often do you add anything, if anything?
Orw thank you. It's really not my skills. I only water
I just bought the soil in the local garden center. It's amended for 1 or 1 1/2 month or so it says.
I just saw that the ph range was perfect for weed imo (6.2-6.8) so i feel i won the lottery. The NPK range did look off, like 1-2-20, so i just ignored that part. It must be me misunderstanding something.
10 dollars for 50 liter. That's for 2 pots. Oh and i mix about 15 liter clay peppeles with that. so 16 dollars for 2 pots.
Gonna try feed the skunk no1 2nd time today with 2 tsp dry nutes more.

But talking about soil my friend.
It's still early days but that skunk have carzy amount of gnats. But guess what. Not anymore.
Your post from last made me start investigating and testing. Actually more testing. You did the investigation.
So i have got hold of some old matchsticks and testing them against gnats.
Wednesday i put 4 matchsticks in the skunk no1. And today i feel i see a big difference.
Plus i put 3 in 2 other pots i leave open and wet for testing purpose. Also stopped using neem in the small ones for test purpose.
Looks damn promising, but still early days.
You and me have maybe made life a bit more easy for some🤞

Edit: Also got that aloe thing of yours going. Havn't tried it yet but i think it's maybe ready.

Day 34 - 11/13

DSCI0939

First i wanna thank all you guys here on the farm for being a part of making this the funniest weekend in a long time for me.
Sorry if i went a bit overboard.
2nd, not much more.
Oh yeah, i'm checking the true runoff on skunk no1 today. The other times i checked was not true. They were at 3600 ppm iirc but it was diluted with false runoff. So i'm guessing more like 5000 ppm. Sounds crazy but i calibrated for that reason.
DSCI0940

But take a look at the Durban Poison. I mean....it's gonna be a beast. I think i got a pretty good stretch control too.
But next time i will do a different training. The crucifix metode would be good. Easy too.
Good thing i had all that time to play around with different training metodes.
I got 5 different metodes this grow.
Dont wanna do the 8 branch again. Too slow and too much work. But nice.
And the 2 branch is only good for window grow.
The circle training was a bit of waste of time, but might have helped keep the durban poison small enough. It was a bit high stress.
The bending of the main top on the nigerian is nothing new and always good.

Yep i think the 2 node 4 main branch crucifix metode is the winner.
Easy, fast, only 4 strings or wires needed. Actually only 2 wires.
Easy to adjust. All tops are even high if branches are level. The amount of tops i want and even spread of tops.
Almost like using net, just with more light to the branches and almost no defoil.
What's not to like. It's the less work part that's the best for me, but the other things is nice too.
Just my opinion of course and for my way of growing.

Thanks for all the advice and feedback i got, and also all the ideas i stole from you. Been a great help so far.

Oh yeah the matchstick trick looks promising. Early days but still.
I found 10 boxes more, getting them tomorrow i think, so i got 82 boxes now. Bought an old collection first.
I've used 4 matches in the big pot but i might get away with 2 or 3 and only 1 in the small ones.
So if it works i have gnat control for many years for a few cents per plant. 🤞 I payed around 80 cent per box.
Have to be old matches. The new don't work. Maybe 20 -25 years old and more.
And if it works all credits goes to the weak bitch 😉 We will call it the weak bitch metode.
Looks good though. Less than half gnats today. But could be other things of course.

Quick extra runoff update.

Did a very slow watering to get true runoff and it is as i suspected. It's falling quick.
Only 3550 ppm this time and i even fed it 2 tsp, so i might give 2 tbs instead next.
Because i't much lover than it was. i think 3600 diluted so late flowering gonna be a problem if i don't rise it now.
I'm actually a bit late but i'm still dialing in and testing so it's ok no panic.
And it's not eating leafs much but starting.

Day 35 - 11/13

DSCI0943

All looks ok for my standard at least.

Going to clean up the Durban poison but i'm waiting some more. Not sure what to keep or not because of the loose structure. And my circle training also made it a bit messy.
It's also thirsty. Total dry top soil today again so it gonna be long watering again. (Right front)

Extra update inside the update.
Took a ppm reading on the durban.
It takes a heck of a time for the meter to count after 1900 ppm. It stopped around 2300 ppm with false runoff. So i guess + 1/3 is 3600 ppm.
Almost exactly the same as skunk no1.
Trying now to test true runoff to get an idea what i should aim at with my soil because this looks ok.
Quick update when done testing.
Ok done testing. Spot on. I stopped measuring when meter reached 3550 ppm. Still not true really true runoff because it is not soaked.
But i think it's time for some nutes for the durban aiming at keeping it around 3800 ppm to start with.

Nigerian sativa with the good looking budding, got burnt tips i noticed today. (front mid)
I didn't feed so i'll just wait a week more with that.
Nice to know if it's not light burn that is.
Day 35 and only skunk no1 have gotten nutes added so far. 4 tsp dry nutes total with top i should say. So more like 8 tsp.
DSCI0944

The nigerian sativa with the dream structure. Havn't touch it other than bending the top. No defoil, maybe 6 leafs.
It also looks like i'm getting seeds. The pistils on the pollinated branch is drying. It's possible to see the branch to the far right.
My 2nd time making seeds.
The soil seems to be even moist now. It took some good time but it was also small for the pot to start with.

The afghans is slowly budding. The 2 small ones is not gonna be great. I don't blame them. They are not even under the light.
But they were extras so i'll take it.

Got new batteries so i saw i got 58 rh. Not bad i think. Can't change the rh much but it's better than normal and i can get it a bit better, when i'm up for it.
What really stops me is, if i improve my ventilation, i cant hide my grow anymore, if they come to make some work in my apartment.
Well i can but it's more work.

Fewer gnats today. In all plants i'd say. Matchstick or not.
This is probably not gonna be the grow that shows if the matchsticks work. Too many variables.
I stopped spraying neem oil some days ago on all plants. Might start again but i'd rather not. Too much work.
