First off there is no need to worry much. What size system are you running how many buckets? Second I am running 4 bulbs around most of the plants this causes some crazy growth, I would not go installing a gravity feed until I had the need for it and the 13 gallon buckets come with 3" tubing this will help the flow, The bucket nearest the epicenter always has more water when it comes to the 16 site this does not affect the plant growth what so ever beacuse some of my larger plants are the furthest ones. I will take some pics and show how I installed the gravity feed.. JACK

I'm going small to start, it'll be 8 plants with 13 1k vertical:

Code:
   o
o x x o
   o
o x x o
   o
o x x o
   o
o x x o
   o

x=plant
o=light

This will later get upgraded to make sure every plant gets 4 lights.

I wasn't thinking of installing the gravity feed out of the gate, but was now considering at least preparing the ports for the gravity feed in the side of the necessary buckets before starting. I figured it would be best to get that done before loading everything up with water. Then I can just pop in the pipe/elbows at the right time, if necessary.

It's VERY good to know about the growth of the back plants regardless of which ones get more water. I'll worry less about that then.

At this point, without knowing more, I'm probably going to assume that even the 3" pipes will become root bound by the end of the grow.

Also, just so you know, here's what I'm currently looking at for strains:

4 Gran Daddy Purp
2 Pre-98 Bubbas
2 Black Dominas

Thanks, Jack! :stonedsmilie:

Hey jack,

Just read through the whole thread, one thing i didnt see you mention is the method of which you transfer the plant into the buckets.

My UC 8XL(105x36'') should be here on tues, i have been having clones and veggin plants in an aero system with no medium until my flowering room is complete. You think the roots will be fine with the rocks pouring on it into the net pots? Should i start having them in rockwool for future purposes?

Not hiJACKing. :hi: Just see lots of folks asking the Roots Excelerator question reguarding high oxygen systems like the UC. I had a conversation with Robert Stroner from H&G and this is what he said regarding my question.

"Roots Excelurator- This bottle contains a beneficial bacteria that thrives in a lower oxygen environment. Roots Excelurator still works great in highly oxygenated systems but thrives in a lower oxygen environment. The bacteria attacks bad pathogen's and isolates germs so they can't reproduce which protects the roots. It also eats and breaks down nutrients to make them for available for the plant."

Keep in mind that I doubt any rep would ever say "No don't use our shit with that shit", but I thought I'd share.

fellas...new undercurrent system going up...stay tuned

1st and foremost, all praise and respect to mr. jackmayoffer for his graciousness and candor, allowing us a look at one of the most high tech state of the art setups probably on the planet, to scale of course. what a way to go, plant for plant the highest yielding indoor op today...with that said, imitation being the highest form of flattery, and with due humility, im building a smaller scale replica of this setup, for myself and my friend in a medicinal state, staying within the 12 plant per patient guidelines of our state, using a 24-site 13 gallon 40 inch on center 13XXL evolution by current culture. i will be running house and garden aquaflakes at regular strength, following the schedule for a 8 week flowering cycle, strain being either sour cream, strawberry diesel, or red dragon( not sure yet)...have ordered and had custom made the undercurrent and it should be arriving next week, building the room now, 36'x16'x8' tall, fully insulated, 3 ton a/c, with a possible 2 ton backup, co2, and 14x1000watts and 10x600watts digital quantum ballasts, vegging separately in homemade ez clone machines til well rooted then vegging for 3 weeks minimum in the uc before flipping over to flower...im a soil grower by origin, 1st hydro run here, and still a new jack in general, so any and all advice by vet grower would be thoroughly appreciate, as well as any gems the guru mr. jackmayoffer may have to aid and assist a long distance protege grow that he inspired, would truly be a blessing and an honor. so, not to tap dance on your set but as a loyal follower and with my own undercurrent experiences to add to help anyone else that can benefit from these blogs the way we have, here are my 2 cents and questions on the undercurrent, house and garden, ventilation, grow op management, lighting, security, any about anything else that comes to me...:hi:

Hittiing them hard at this point for there final push stopped Big Bud started Over Drive:hunter: The Colas are the size of 1000 watt bulbs from top to bottom and this is when the start putting on weight hold on its about to get real good:weed-sign:...JACK

I hate Rock Wool I go straight from the turbo cloner to the Under Current stystem I have not had any issue with damaging roots Just pore some Hydroton in the bottom and place the clones and pore around the roots.JACK

can we get some root porn too jack?

things looking lovely...but you already knowing bra! lol

and preciate it for letting me know about you not worrying about damaging roots, i was wondering how i was gon transplant from the cloner with bare roots.....i thought i was gonna have to rig something up, but you say you see no damage, eh? good news bra!

big ups!!:afroweed:

wow...another 8 tons on top of the 3+2 backup?!

do u really think it will take that much a/c to cool all those bulbs and pumps?! if so, i tried to check for those frost king a/cs that u referred to but no luck finding them. ill call the place in cali that u mentioned but so far i may have to rock out with 2 ton wall unit to supplement the 3 ton unit. and i may just take ur advice on canna, but i will give H+G a run first, i just bought 20 liter units of aquaflakes so why not give em a run and see. i really dont like my local canna dealer but for a good recipe i may just give him my business anyways...let me ask about ur power consumption...how are u wired in? how many amps are u able to carry as a load on ur service...i have to have the power co. come out and install a new 200 amp service for this new grow but im not sure 200 amp will carry the load with all that added a/c. i may hav to split the room and flip flop to keep my amperage down...and its summer and getting really warm...the a/c's are gonna be working overtime...do i rock out my outdoor full steam til sept or just go balls out with the power?

Funkn A right Jack!....MAD dash to the finish!

:anim_52: Big Props Brudda!

Excellent bud shots Jack! It's crazy to think that there are tomato cages hidden in those trees... :cool
