Damn, I didnt even realize they had seeds at the cup. I was a dumb ass! I should have bought a few cuts, I just figured I could get the stuff over in Richmond from their club.

I too went to the cup, picked up a few of the kens to mother. After talking with Ken about six months ago at the convention at the cow palace, and finally getting the true genetics from his mouth, i had to pick some up. Grows pretty well from what ive heard so i cant wait to see.

this is as close as I have come to Ken's genetics. A buddy hooked me up on a trade. Now i need to get the beans! Or some cuts.. I take either. This is some of the best medication around. One of my absolute favs.

I guess the pics suck. the green is actually purple :) bberry camera isnt the best.

A lot of mixed reviews on "Ken's" GDP come from people pretending they got the clones from a legitimate source when they are really going off of some buddy's word.

This strain smells, heals, and is everything that you hope it will be. I grew up smoking this strain as well as God's Gift, which I don't think the version I had was from Ken, not too sure tho he is quite connected all over Cali.

Not only does Ken provide medicine and means to grow your own to patients but he has been doing so for a long time even with a series of abusive federal raids against he and his family.

I don't need any info or any hookups but just wanna say Ken you are the man we respect you in the bay and they will all over the world when the real story is universally accepted as just that.

Also, in an interview Ken claims that he was gifted his grandaddy from a group of natives he helped out in Northern California who had been back crossing a Purple Afghani brought to Cali by some Vietnam war vets. He also says that "Thai" and "Buddha" were brought back by them and I think he kinda hints that the GDP may have a mix of some of those traits in it's lineage as well.
I've never found any legit source that says it is Purple Erkle x Big Bud, I don't know if he states this elsewhere or not.
I did my best transcribing the video for you folks.
There is a very popular Purple Erkle x Big Bud cross in Northern California however but my opinion is that this is more of a Grandaddy knock-off than the factual lineage of the strain, however I have not grown it myself and smoked it maybe on 2-3 occasions from the same grower. It had the "purple" smell but there are so many purple hybrids in Northern California.

EDIT: In the video interview Ken says his GDP is a "daughter" or "sister" of a skunk variety. I would interpret that as his GDP ultimately being a (Purple Afghani x some combination of Buddha and/or Thai varieties) x unknown Skunk variety.

I'm not entirely sure if something that I recently grew out was true Ken GDP, but it has been one of the strongest, tastiest, smoothiest weeds I have -ever- had the pleasure of smoking. Smells incredible and very very pungent. Would be almost impossible to transport smell proof in my opinion. It didn't turn very purple all over, but where it did it was very pretty. Didn't stay as much in the cure; more or less a hue as opposed to a solid color. Should have made a mommy.

I used 2 love Purple but in tha last couple years purp has gotten really watered down & it don't have the kick like back in the days.. But when I was in SF 4 the cup I got 2 try The Famous Kens GDP.. And let me tell u purp like the old days.. Super mega fuckin stoney.. I'm talkin' very very Stoney heavy indica.. Kens GDP is the shit.. Super bomb ass strain.. I only wish I got some clones now they were mega healthy.. And damn if I would of known there were GDP beans I would of got those 2.. Now I'm gunna have 2 head out 2 San Jo.. This Kens Grandaddy Purple is the real Deal

Hey ken I had a quick question I just picked up a clone of what they labeled it as gdp for the Wonderland Collective in LA, is this not your cut? never asked them from who the cut came from heres a pic of her in some ff soil.

damn so it must be there own gdp? or they are just calling it that, i saw their GDP finished product and that shit was so purple and frosty.

so does anyone know if the Kens from harborside are fakes or are the real deal just not the ken autherized cut

its probably erkle or just turns purple and smells kinda fruity to be honest. The leaves are way to skinny for some gdp.

The front two rows are the GDP.

Ken's kush as well. Got a sample at the cup, and the flavor just emminates from the center of your lungs on a nice chonger!

Those seedlings look great!! I personally love this strain. Top five for sure. I got a cut from him a lil over a year ago when he had his place on hilltop mall. She's as grape candy as it can get. I hope u find some real keepers in there seeds. I also have a pure og of his that is the nicest og i've ever smoked. I have 2 of the gdp about half way done, and i'll throw up some pics when there closer to finished! Best of luck with the seedlings! I saw you picked up the kens kush seeds too! I think those might be the pure og in seed form! Should be amazing! Was the sample labeled kens kush??

Ken's OG huh? I had a GDP cut that shocked me it was so strong, might have been the real deal. I grew up in the south bay and remember the real purple from some 10+ years ago.

WinA, what would you compare Ken's OG to? Like a Fire OG or Tahoe or......Good to see ya man. Any info on the lineage of Ken's Kush?

thanks man. The seedlings are starting to show sex. Females get topped. No male keepers. Some are about 16" tall already.

Yes, the sample was labeled ken's kush. It was delicious! Can't wait to harvest mine!

Hey soopy! Well the og i got is labeled pure og.. Ive grow his cut of pure kush also, which i think is a crazy relative to bubba. That cut crossed with an og i believe. And my guess would be maybe the ghost. Or that's about as close in structure potency ect. But i think the pure ads ALOT to the potency. Probably the "stoneyest" herb i've smoked.

This is what a friend said about it at the med cup in san fran!

Wonderin' your OG almost put me down for the count. Got our cards, hauled to the 215 then got straight obliterated off your OG, the chunk you gave me didn't make it through the night. Hands down, strongest herb that I smoked there and we smoked a shitload.
