They know who they are, we know who they are, but we don't know who we are...yet?

Would you kindly quit leaving these soapboxes around , I have a tendency to crawl up onto them , build a pyre and start feeding it politicians like Casey Jones stoking Old No. 9's boiler.

Actually fixing the ills in DC is simpler than even mixing nutrients at this juncture............

One Rope.......

One Lamp-Post.......

One politician.............

Some assembly required.

doesn't get rid of the soapboxes, but oft times my endocannabinoids don't cut it, a boost helps, and my tongue and/or ears thank me for it.

Off the soapbox. Who's up next?

Shit. Just noticed that this was post 888. Does that mean anything?

I always enjoy reading this section/thread. But my favorite is "EVERYBODY AND THEIR MOTHER" is growing. The market is flooded etc. This might be true to a point and only temporarily but how many of these "EVERYBODY AND THEIR MOTHER" yahoo MMJ grower Millionares (new to the scene) is actually growing quality meds? ZIP or very few of them. Let them all fall by the wayside because their growing dreams are gone. I have never seen or met any MMJ grower millionaires ever.

I 100% agree. However, they are flooding the market with mediocre crap that is dirt cheap. What I have noticed, is that a vast majority of people have become ok with smoking that kind of quality because it's cheap. Not everyone is like that, but the cheap shit is what moves, PERIOD. I've managed a collective that used to focus on almost all top shelf. We had a few budget buds, and those moved ALL DAY LONG. And no, I haven't met any marijuana millionaires. I was simply refering to a term that the media has been using with the people that hop into this business thinking that's what they'll be. And I agree, they will fall off the map, as will many other people. It's just a matter of time.

Some day I'd like to see this thread topic go away and be replaced w/ a "How Much Growers Are Charging Dispensary Customers for Their Weed/MMJ" It seems like someone got it backwards, or at least mixed up,somewhere along the way. Just my 2p, and probably a pendulum swing type of deal, anyways.

100% agree. Only thing is you have very large group of farmers that aren't part of this community. Therefor, the prices we post will have no reflect on the prices they charge. I met the guy that won the cannabis cup the last two years with his OG Kush. He's got the pictures and paperwork to go with it. He's not asking for more than 25 and on CONSIGNMENT.

doesn't speak highly of the cannabis cup or the cretons he's consigning to, does it? Doesn't jibe at all w/ my immediate experience. But that points to the fundamental problem w/ this thread: I say, you say. It's naive to think that there can't be or aren't vested interests involved in posting price information on a growers site.

And nothing personal- it's your profile. I don't know diddley about you, so why should I trust you?

Reading his post, I was under the impression that this Cannabis Cup winner was selling low...no? If he did, mad props to the cause of providing meds reasonably.

I gave meds away free to peeps twho didn't' have the money this month. If I consigned my gear and was stuck w/ that pricing for my top shelf, that would be an impossibility. Make some good people sad. If he wants to be a benefactor to the patients he provides for and, particularly, to the dispensary's cash flow, than god bless him. Best to keep his philanthropy and the details to himself, otherwise someone might come onto a thread like this and tell us that shit is chocolate pudding.

I also provide free meds monthly to two very ill patients. I use some myself as needed and the rest goes to donation. Offsetting the costs to grow. No getting rich here...

Good. Now that we're past that, lets get back to the problem, assuming that we agree there is a problem.

Lol...the only problem I see currently, once you wipe away all of the opinions, hard work and love of growing is the lack of a solid industry. That too shall solve itself in 5-10 years, IMO so not much else to do except complain or do something positive for the overall movement.

Not trying to flame you crow, but it's a bit naive to think we have 5-10 years to work this out. If we don't do something major to stop the chain of events that are currently in motion, that's enough time for corporate interests to gain total control of the market and the value of even the best cannabis will barely be enough to pay the increasingly high cost of electricity. IMHO the future of indoor cannabis growing is finite and will all but be extinguished during our lifetime unless we figure out how to stop "legalization" efforts and form some type of growers union to keep dispensaries from fucking us over.

Oh and when I use the term corporate interests, dispensaries are included. They are as corporate as it gets.

Nah, not flamin. I can take anything when put intelligently :) So, I see the presidential change happening with Obama being relected unfortunately. That would mean the same bullshit we have now, plus likely more now that he kind of started his own flame by cracking down on state policies when he vowed not to use federal funding for this type of thing. So, by one more full term of presidency, plus the internal fights between state officials and attorney generals (added this upcoming lobbying by bigpharm and bigtobacco who will at this time, be ready to put out a new CBD or THC/CBD drug) I think the atmosphere will keep changing and swirling with new players in the game and each one with it's own agenda. Corporate greed will keep this momentum up.

All in the meantime, there will still be boutique growers, even if we go completely illegal again this type of community will still grow MMJ, but really tasty and high quality stuff, hence there will be a market. I think that is where I will be (I hope!) and I also hope no matter what state and federal fights take place, and laws being enacted, retracted, and the ones that never make it bast ballot, this community will still be here, albeit the ones who were only in it for the money, anyway. And good riddance to them anyway.

Good to hear from you again, sumo, after all these years.
