I agree if there was a choice that more people would get the better quality I know I sure would but you wont catch me drinking a budlight either. Though people do have a choice when it comes to beer yet the majority picks the commercialized american beers(budlight, millerlight, coors etc).... same goes with music... and whats played on the radio. Most listen to the BS we have been forced to by it being played over and over. Regardless to if it is good music or not it comes down to who will be marketing what. If the commercial companies get a hold of this they will force so much BS down the public's throat it will become the norm. Similar to what the music industry has done... Or the Major Beer and Tobacco companies. Yes the quality will still be out there but will it be overwhelmed by corporate america.

^^^what he said. Every word. It's gonna be up to us, the connoisseurs, to keep demanding better product and buying it when it's available, thereby ensuring an ongoing market for the best Colorado's cannabis cultivators can provide!

Its not legalization. Its state regulation guys. This is not good for our sacred plant. Who the hell would want our government controlling the distribution, retail, and production of something so precious to us?

Its not about lining my pockets u dumb fucks, its about keeping the government out of our lives. And all you guys did was just start a huge shit storm with the feds. This was a mistake, california saw it coming and voted no. You guys were to blinded to see who and what is behind this bill and what it actually will mean.

And yes, i feed my family with this plant so i dont want prices to fall. I think this sacred herb is worth much more then its worth now. 10 dollar ounces? Come one.. fuckin grow up. Tell my power company to lower their rates then. Some of us dont grow in closets and live off moms money. Some of us actually work this plant and put food on the tables with it.

Im glad u guys voted wrong tho.. now the feds will be all over you guys instead of us in california just doing our medical thing and trying to keep respect for our sacred plant plant and keep the government far away from it.

U guys that think this is good for the government to exploit the hell out of our plant and control it can go to hell... u guys will be in for a rude awakening.

the retail side of this Amendment, IMO....will never get off the ground. At the very least, they are estimating it will be 2014 before the State gets it all together...and that is plenty of time for the Fed to stop it here BEFORE it begins....and to continue to dismantle the retail aspect of MMJ anywhere/everywhere it exists.

While I like the general direction of your comments, no strong argument can be built on a weak foundation of misinformation. Your assertion that demand is higher for weed than tomatoes is just flat WRONG. The only way herb surpasses tomatoes is in money made- not in transactions, pounds, or any other reasonable measure. This is an error based on perspective; you live around potheads who don't buy tomatoes, and that's fine. Just don't get the idea that King Soopers is handing out tomatoes for free, and don't assume that just because you don't eat tomatoes much, that others don't as well.

Yes, the price of cannabis will fall. A little. Legalization has already been priced in to a great degree due to the relaxed legal climate Colorado already enjoys. Cheap crap will always be around- and it will always be cheap crap.

I don't see everyone beating down the door to buy another Yugo, and when this sorts itself out, BRANDING will be king, since most consumers are already trained to look for brand names as a symbol of quality. That means that if you want to have a good brand, you best not sell ditchweed. Good brands will be backed by premium product, and there will always be a niche for that. The question in my mind today is, 'how big is that connoisseur market?'

demand is higher for weed because tomato market is flooded. tomato average yield per plant in average conditions is around 10lbs per plant good growers can get 25lbs http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/load/tomato/msg0707092123146.html
and pro can get world records set of over 100lbs per plant. PLEASE SHOW ME ONE PLANT THAT WILL GIVE ME 10 LBS OF AAA+ PREMIUM TASTY STONEY DANK!

TO ASSUME I LIVE AROUND POTHEADS WHO DON'T CONSUME TOMATOES, FOOL I LIVE AROUND NO STONERS THAT I KNOW OF (MAYBE CLOSEST POTHEADS LOL) I HAVE A SMALL CIRCLE OF FRIEND AND HALF DON'T SMOKE BUD CUZ THEY GREW OUT OF IT LITERALLY GREW THEY WAY OUT OF IT! THEY HAVE NICE HOUSES AND BUSINESS AND DRINK AND SHIT, AND I OPERATE SERVERS FOR A LIVING, CHECK OUT MY BIO, THATS RIGHT I AIN'T A STUPID POTHEAD AS YOU SEEM TO PUT IT! AND ITS A SHAME THAT YOU WOULD EVEN USE THAT OLD SCHOOL GOV'T TERM THAT POTHEADS WERE SLOW! I KNOW A FEW OF SMART ASS MOTHER FUCKING STONERS, I DON'T KNOW ANY STUPID ONES, I GROW MY MEDICINE BECAUSE I LOVE PLANTS AND STUDIED BOTANY AND HORTICULTURE AND HAVE BEEN GROWING ALL TYPES OF PLANTS FROM AROUND 5 YEARS OLD, AS I BECAME A TEEN I USED THOSE SKILLS WITH BUD, NOW I'M A MAN, AND I AM GOOD AT GROWING WHAT I LIKE TO SMOKE.
YOU SAID AND I QUOTE "BRANDING will be king, since most consumers are already trained to look for brand names as a symbol of quality. That means that if you want to have a good brand, you best not sell ditchweed. Good brands will be backed by premium product, and there will always be a niche for that. HYPOTHETICALLY SPEAKING!!!!
TRUE ABOUT THE BRANDING BUT.. A BRAND IS BUILT ON REPUTATION OF QUALITY.. HENCE IF I STEP INTO A SHOP WITH AAA+ PRODUCT I BREAD MYSELF PER SAY, I WOULD GET A DECENT PRICE BUT NOT TOP $$ TILL PEOPLE REALIZE HOW GOOD THE SMOKE IS AND SPREAD THE NAME AROUND THE A HO! WHEN THE STORE DEMAND MORE AND I CANNOT PROVIDE MORE THERE IS A LIMIT AND SINCE I ONLY HAVE THIS STRAIN THAN THE PRICE NEXT TIME I WILL RAISE IT SLOW BUT SURE TILL THE PRICE CRESTS! I MAJORED IN BUSINESS MY FRIEND!
NOW YOU SAID "HO
YOU SAID AND I QUOTE " The question in my mind today is, 'how big is that connoisseur market?'"IF YOU TRULY BELIEVE CONNOISSEUR MARKET
IS FOUND IN A SHOP THAN U NEED TO RE-EVALUATE THE TERM U USED "CONNOISSEUR" BECAUSE THE BEST BUDS IN THE WORLD IS IN THE UNDERGROUND WORLD NOT A CLUB! PERIOD! IT'S BOMB AT A CLUB BUT NOT THE BEST. SEE I GO TO SHOPS JUST TO SEE WHAT POPULAR. ONCE IN AWHILE YOU WILL SEE SMALL BATCHES OF REAL DANK ELITES BUT FOR THE MOST PART THEY WERE PHENO GROWN WITH og+$$$ IN MIND. IF YOU NEED THE TERM OG TO BE TAGGED ON JUST FOR YOU TO BUY IT THAN YOU ARE A KID, OG IS PLAYED OUT PERIOD! IT MAY EARN TOP DOLLAR IN SHOPS BUT SUPER KIND UNDERGROUND BUD STILL FETCHES TOP DOLLAR WAY PAST WHAT A SHOP WOULD PAY OR EVEN SELL AN OZ FOR! SO PLEASE BRO
TOMATOES LIKE I SAID ARE PRODUCED IN SUCH VOLUME THAT THE (LACK OF) DEMAND FORCES LOW PRICES, SUPER KIND BUD DOESN'T PRODUCE ON AVERAGE IN PERFECT CONDITIONS WITH LONG VEGGING OUTDOORS 1/10TH THE YIELD OF A TOMATO PLANT. IT TAKES 60-85 OF FLOWER FOR TOP GRADE THAT 2-3 MONTHS OF FLOWERING! IT NEEDS VEG TIME ALSO SO 2.5-3.5 MONTHS PLUS TOMATOES DON'T NEED TO BE CAREFULLY TRIMMED AND MANICURED AND CURED!! THAT IS ADDED TIME. A PREMIUM SMOKE FROM BEGINNING TILL BONG SHOULD TAKE 4-6 MONTHS COUNTING CURING IT CORRECTLY!
AND SINCE THE BEST STRAIN I HAVE WHICH IS A OLD SCHOOL ONE PRODUCES ONLY 1.5-2 OZ PER PLANT ON ITS BEST GROWS ! IF SOMEONE WANTED 10LBS OF THAT STRAIN THEY WOULD NEED 150-160 PLANTS WHEREAS AN AVERAGE TOMATO YIELDS 10 LBS! TOMATOES CAN BE MASS PROCESSED AND THEKIND AAA CANNOT! TOMATOES IF BUG INFESTED CAN BE TREAT TILL DAY OF HARVEST! CONNOISSEUR AAA+ CANNOT, IF YOU GET MOLD OF MITES ON YOUR LAST WEEK BYE BYE TO AAA+, ON THE OTHER HAND TOMATO LITTLE PYRETHRIN AND WATER WASH AFTER HARVEST AND HOALA A TOMATO IS STILL SOLD

YES PRICES WILL FALL BUT THEIR WILL BE A MEDIAN. AND IT WON'T BE NO 20 OG OUNCES THATS FOR SURE, JUST BECAUSE ITS TOTALLY LEGAL STILL MANY PEOPLE HAVE KIDS AND DON'T WANT TO GROW AROUND THEIR KIDS SO THEY BUY IT! THEIR WILL ALWAYS BE CLOSEST SMOKERS EVEN FORTUNE 500 GUYS BLAZE IT (SOME OF THEM ON THE DOWN LOW) THESE ARE JUST A FEW OF MANY REASONS WHY PRICES WILL FALL BUT STILL NOT FALL TO THE EXTREME OF $20 OG OUNCES
HERES TO SHOW YOU, YOU DON'T KNOW MUCH WHEN YOU ACCUSE ME OF BEING STUPID AND NOT LIKING TOMATOES! I MAKE A 20 HOUR SAUCE FROM HOMEGROWN TOMATO THAT IS THE BEST, SLOW COOKED

Heres one thing to think of that I havent heard yet on here with this law it is going to make ALOT more people feel comfortable about using MJ so with that the demand should go up thus the price may drop alittle but not much (this I know cuz I have recieved 3 calls from friends in colorado that like to burn but wouldnt cuz they were nervious about getting caught and these are people over 45 so I think there is going to be alot more once a week recreational use. so it should all even out Also I have friends that buy 60 organic turkeys when they could buy 15 dollar butterballs. Prime herb will bring prime dollars brick weed will bring the bottom.

That's what I do and here are some pics I took tonight with a phone camera but a couple pics came out okay. Some "Derailed Blues Indica" aka Blueberry Trainwreck(Bluebery OG X Purple Trainwreck) , some Original Chem 1991 and some Purple Jones(Casey Jones X Purple Urkel) from my bloom room. Purple Jones and Chemdog 91 is in day 54 and the Derailed Blues Indica is in day 28 of bloom. I use a Secret Jardin 8 x 8 for bloom with one 1000 watt and one 600 watt currently. Going to add another 600 real soon.
Best regards from the Bluzboy in Colorado FatZip818OG!
keep it up homie, this is all we can do. when there is more of us than them, it will change.

Sucks to be a colorado or washington grower. Can u say 20 dollar ounces?

State regulation is not legalization. This is terrible news for our sacred plant.

Feds will have a field day with this. At least now here in california we can say "hey we are medical, go get those recreational dopers in Co and Wa."

Funny how ignorant voters are.

You are incredibly selfish. It's a harmless plant, and clearly the only thing sacred about it to you is profit from illicit status. FREE THE WEED!!!! May it grow in every garden!!!

either way this just opens the door for more commercialized products.... yes the price of BS will go down the true top smoke prices wont drop much. I see the quality dropping considerably through out the state. As you said the demand for herb is far greater then tomatoes.... there for the high yielding strains will be pushed and chances are will be picked early like in canada to get on the market faster. I see it as a good thing but I see the overall quality of herbs taking a hit as well

False. One thing will never change, the person with the best weed will sel the most weed. That's not saying their isn't a market for for cheaper, lower grade weed. There is and always will be, but the person with the best weed sells the most weed, not the person with the cheapest. That's said, I don't think we'll be seeing $10 or even $100 ounces of truly primo any time soon.

Which is it hypocrite? Feeding your family off illicit profits, or protecting YOUR sacred plant from the big bad government? Is it about $10 zips or not? You can't call us dumbfucks for accusing you of chasing the almighty dollar then make a comment about having to feed the family. We all have mouths to feed. None of us are coveting a plant by falsely throwing around the word sacr ed like we're some kind of new age shaman. Adapt! Change! Don't blame your circumstances!

As Long a the possession, growing and sale is decriminalized it would be fine! If it was treated as all other plants that would be good! Then if u want to grow or smoke u can

Growing is a beautiful cottage industry, i believe in a free market, and think that it should be the people who benefit from our wonderful plant. Once companies with unlimited finance get involved, it will no longer be a free market. Everybody claims to be so upset withe the one percent, yet at the end of the day they bow and kneel to them. This is just another example of people trading their freedoms for security. You have already been enjoying this herb with no risk of jail time, it is the growers who risk jail not the consumer. Ironically , now, you really do risk jail time, and gigantic fines, with the legislation concerning dui blood levels. What the prison system loses in cultivation charges, it will make up for ten fold in auto seizures, and 3k plus dui fines. I guess the real benefit is being able to grow your own, maybe not being able to drive a car will mean you will have more time at home tending to your plants. i truly hope for you in colorado, and for everybodies sake, that the feds allow home growers and personal freedoms, yet go after anyone who gets too greedy. It is not selfish to want to keep the plant for those who truly love it, there is room for everyone this way. Simple decrim is all anyone needed, government tax and regulation with strict dui penalties is just a thorn in our asses.
