So with 502, will medical donations still be allowed? I thought I'd read something sayin it shouldn't or wouldn't change the medical portion..am I totally wrong here?

Doesn't change the med law. I believe the medical is up for review in 2014

its the same here - its just that there's more craigslist kinda dirtbags around working every angle and some of these guys are fairly new to growing and they dont know who else to shop there wares thru....so they end up working with sleazeballs who make it appear much different than it is....and they're a union of sleazeballs too....

don't let em get you on the consignment plan
I've consigned a few times... nightmare. I drop the weed off it's on their menu for a day or two, it sells out and they don't pay me for a month or more. I ask them why if it all sold so fast didn't you cut me a check or at least ask for more weight? their answer is it was to much better than their other product and they couldn't sell their stock of older bud. How is that my fault/problem? Sorry all your buddies weed is shit!! PAY ME!!!!!!

I work with an awesome shop that has actually asked growers I've sent in if they want MORE money for their wares. They walk in & say 200 per zip.. And THE SHOP OWNER will try and talk them up to 220 for AA shit. I personally have been doing 240-280 per oz all the way up and am more than content but for him imma make it just 250 flat Aka 4 per.. prolly less for decent yielders and occasionally 260-270 for those shitty yielders. he'll pay 35 to 40 a g for wax but I give him oodles fer 25$
I feel bad for ya guys I got 99 probs but a dickspensary is not one.
wish ya guys the best a luck. I'm just a small grower tho.

not gonna go into specifics but das mitten.. one of the benefits of being on the east coast.. MOST/almost all dispensaries refuse over 225 out here tho. However I refuse to work with douche bags
it's a matter of finding good hearted peeps.. stoners with cards he sells weed too.. Patients get damn near at cost. there is a difference

Yeah my little corner of WA... you're hard pressed to get 24 for highest grade top shelf.

And please don't support consignment deals guys!! When I need to get flowers between harvests... I pay for them, period. Before it goes elsewhere, the grower/broker has cheddar in hand. Dispensary consigment is a joke in most cases. And the less we succumb to their ways, the more likely they are to be on a cash up front basis. The risks associated this industry alone should make this an unwritten rule. A flip of a switch and everybody is fucked. By consigning you are putting trust into more people than we all tend to accept...

Wow! I just read most of this resurrected thread and it is almost humorous that the market can be as high as it is in states that do not have MMJ. AND I think the market in Washington will slump very soon. High grade weed will always be more expensive but not that much. A relative of mine bought two lbs. of a great indoor strain in the Cali Bay Area for $550 a lb. Here in the Emerald Triangle we have a glut. It's no wonder a lot of people are being busted in the "east" with our weed. People all over town have it growing in their back yards. The photo I took is in an alley in a major city. In the country you will see tall wooden fences with buds peaking over the top. It sure feels like we are close to legalization. Here good bud sells under $1000 and primo not over $1600.

I didn't realize the thread was so old when I posted in it. A lot of what you say is true, and I feel for you guys in the Emerald Triangle.

Thing is, WA's legalization and regulation is going to make the next year or so very interesting. The state's biggest challenge is going to be undercutting the black market... and with the obvious associated costs of producing cannabis coupled with the taxing system they've developed - it will be impossible for growers/retailers -and- the state (which is the whole point of regulation and taxing), to make a profit if prices drop below where they are now. The 3-tier tax structure is modelled after liquor regulation in the state (before they did away with state liquor stores) and we continue to also have the most expensive booze in the country. Oh, and also, BHO as well as any form of hash is not included in the initiative and will not be a part of the regulation.

Needless to say, things are going to get interesting.

Things are 'interesting' here in Colorado, too. At the moment, prices are holding- but I'm sure that's because we're a lot closer to profitable east coast markets than Cali. I agree that the current situation is fluid and unstable. Things will get a lot more 'interesting' during this upcoming election cycle, especially if a hard core law and order republican enters the white house.

I just herd a prediction that 502 weed with tax will be about 500 a zip and it will raise black market weed up to 300-400 a zip. I like status quo not a huge fan of how fast this is blowing up

this is every ones pipe dream , everyone meaning those who make their living in the weed game at the moment .. the fact is , the state of WA fully understands the black market is their competition , and they have every intention of putting the black market out of business

Bullshit. They realize- or quickly will- that a healthy black market is the only reason their product will be worth a damn- if it were legal and widely available, no one would buy government weeds because the private alternatives would always be better!

why would the private alternative be better ? to think that topshelf herb grown with elite "clone only's" can not be mass produced would be a foolish thought .. I already know a hand full of people running 30k plus op's that pump out the same topshelf quality as someone with 4k in a bedroom ..

the people heading up Washington's rec mj grows KNOW and have clearly stated they are fully aware the black market is their competition , and by their numbers they figure they can only take over 13% of the market the first year .. by the 2nd and 5th year ?

Name a commodity that is produced with higher quality by government supervision than by free market competition. Just one.

Unfortunately people buy that schwag shit from Cali and Oregon! They flooded MT with it too when I was there in 2010-2011! Stick with your local growers! I contacted a dispensary on the eastside of WA and they pay 2800 on consignment for top shelf. I respectfully declined the offer.
consignment .....good for you wish more people would say no to that nonsense

put the marijuana black market out of business? ha! the state of WA might be able to put dispensaries out of business, but nobody will ever put the black market (for anything, not just pot) out of business.
