Now be completely honest, who's bud would you prefer?

He grows mostly for weight, I prefer the connoisseur route (superior aroma, taste and smoke texture).

Right now his Fire OG from OG Raskal is hot out here, but my new OG project is gonna make him look silly.

OGkushstein, can you please tell me what you remember 213 OG to taste like? Like it's best and most memorable characteristics? It would help me out greatly with selecting traits and choosing phenos. I'm going to have to choose a breeding partner for her since I only have S1 beans.

I could probably manipulate environment to get a bit of variation in expression, as well.

I was unaware of the issues regarding OGRaskals gear when I bought it but I'll give it a run... Hope it's not a waste of time & money cuz I have another Fire Alien Kush running. If all goes to shit, I have a few of Magilla's Rossetta Stone f2's that are a few inches high that I'm also excited about. Got all the info on them so I know there good to go.
You have a link on info with the herm & low female ratio, On this forum?

Mentions fire alien specifically.

Some people have no problems with his gear. Some what I understand, you basically have to dig thru a bunch of junk until you find that keeper, but when you do, it is well worth it!

For me, it is just much easier to let BCBD BX and stabilize it for me. I'm sure they have locked down the most desired traits and that saves me a lot of time pheno hunting, not to mention having to try and stabilize traits for breeding.

Basically, I am willing to bet that most of the very best traits of OG Raskal's Fire OG are locked-down and true breeding in BCBD's bx3 version.

Here is my theory, I don't think OG Raskal is very experienced at breeding, I suspect that he just found some nice phenos and is just doing some very basic pollen chucking and seed making. The genetic potential is there, just in unstable form. BCBD, however, definitely knows what they are doing. They would know that hermaphroditism is a sex-liked trait and breed it out, they would have the sheer area needed to grow out a very large population and select the very best specimens and they would have the know-how to solidify expression of the most desired traits. Taking potential and making it consistent.

That is just my theory, anyways. People get all upset when other breeders carry a strain they didn't create and say 'it isn't the original, I don't want it.'. I, however, prefer it (if it is from a reputable breeder ofcourse) because it saves me a lot of time and hassle. Breeders or vendors like BCBD wouldn't just blatantly knock-off a product, there is a reason behind it, if you do your homework, you will understand. Fire OG being widly reported as unstable and BCBD's release of a BX3 version is no coincidence.

Okay, I have a final today. Catch you guys later!

Also, I appreciate all the activity lately. I would love to collaborate with anyone who share common goals and/or interests with me. I have a chemistry/biology background and feel I have knowledge of techniques that are simply not being employeed or utilized at the moment. I find it hard to believe, but the more I research, the more I find that I am in uncharted territory and the possibilities are almost endless. I have a very firm understanding of heredity and inheritance, but in the end, there really is no replacement for experience. I find experience to be vital to success in any endeavor, so I still have much to learn from everyone.

We are in uncharted waters, gentlemen. You reading this, right now, you could find something genuinely unique in that bean you have and those unique qualities and/or characteristics could be extremely desirable to some market out there. You could learn about heredity, become a breeder, make a good living off of your passion and hobby, legally! You could be somebody in this world! Gentlemen, we have an opportunity here that most people will never get. Cannabis is not over saturated with multi-million dollar corporations and the top scientists from around the world... Yet. Right now, smaller underground growers and breeders, like you and I, have the opportunity to stake a claim, to compete and have a realistic chance at making it doing something we love, something that is fun!

I for one do not intend to let my hopes and dreams pass me by. Anyone bold enough to chase this dream with me, anyone bold enough to seize the opportunity and risk failure, join me. We will see if the American dream is dead, after all.

Who will be the 'Jack Daniels' of cannabis when the legal industry and market arrives? I plan on being ready when that time comes.

We are pioneers, be bold and relentless, clear in your goals and nothing can stop you.

Remember, the Kennedy's were bootleggers at one time, cannabis is the modern-day prohibition era liquor. You can be somebody, your children could REALLY be somebody, maybe even president. When cannabis is nationally legalized, what do you think will happen to those politicians who pushed for legalization? Who were the driving force behind the movement? They will be SOMEBODY, they could maybe even change the world if they make it into office. Even in the political arena, cannabis has potential.

Anyone ever watch 'Toonami' on Cartoon Network when they were younger?

"A boy has the right to dream
There are endless possibilities stretched out before him.
What awaits him down the path,
he will then have to choose.
The boy doesn’t always know.
At some point the boy becomes an adult
and learns what he is able to become
Joy and sadness forever will accompany this
He is confronted with a choice.
When this happens as he bids his past farewell in his heart
Once a boy becomes an adult he can no longer go back to being a boy
The boy is now a man.
Only one thing can be said,
“A boy has the right to dream”
For those endless possibilities are stretched out before him.
We must always remember, all men where once boys…"

Yea, he works at some large ass grow with fancy equipment, but for all the money they dump into it, I honestly do not think that quality matches. I'm not the only one, either. Who could blame them, tho; if I had a huge grow, I'd probably have quality control issues as well.

So everyone thinks that my buddy's stuff is better than mine, strictly based on appearance? I won't lie, I am a bit disappointed. If you saw and smoked both in person, I genuinely think most would find mine superior (of course every grower thinks their own stuff is superior). His just yields well and looks nice, mine has flavor, smell, potency and the appearance isn't bad either, IMO, anyways.

To be fair, you took much nicer photos of your buddy's bud than you did your own. That last shot is way too blurry to see the detail in the buds.
