One of the Green Cookies pushed through today in the buildasoil! Excited for this little lady and the adventure that lyies ahead for her!
@Cityfarmin
This is awesome and I will be watching. I will save you some time with the conditioner. Its not necessary. Microbes will absorb chlorine and chloramine. You might get a few casualties but it feeds the system. Also why we don't need to pH. Humus is the great equalizer. It can even speed up the deconstruction of inorganic materials.
I actually just add a cup of compost to a gallon of water to dechlorinate in a pinch. I use this to apply nematodes.
You never want runoff. Even if it means 2 sessions per watering to allow soak up. Runoff is a puddle of available nutrients.
Most important is never wet/dry. You aim for moist at all times. In a 15g it should be taking a gallon every other day and maybe 1.5 when the plant is fully grown.
Teas are not required. Your soil is set bro. Humus holds everything your plant needs. Monthly top dresses of kelp meal and neem meal do the job.
Happy growing to you.
@brazel
I need some goodie bags bruh. Haha. I'm low on neem/karanja cake. :facepalm:
What are BTI and nematodes??Never heard the molasses thing. You can water with chlorinated water. I only distill for nematodes and BTI. Bubble 24 hours with air stone. Lately i have been using rain water for such things.
Subbed!! Looking forward to the comparison
@Cityfarmin
BTI is a bacteria that effectively infects soil borne pestilence such as fungus gnats. As it feeds on the infected host it secretes toxins and enzymes into it.
nematodes...same principle. Both are parasitic to what is parasitic to your plant. A nematode is a parasitic round worm.
Bacillus thuringenses israliensis (sp.) BTI produces a protective kernel of toxins when it sporulates.
These toxins are known to cause digestive troubles for gnat larva.
Gnatrol is BTi
There are re-sellers on ebay who break tubs down into small orders for a reasonable price.
There are many varieties of nematodes available.What about nematodes ??
There are many varieties of nematodes available.
I have tried a few with no noticeable results against my gnat larva.
Ocean Forrest is pretty hot for seedlings,try starting in Solo cups of happy frog or light warrior and transplanting into the OF.
