So I've had this idea for a few weeks to keep my aero cloner temps down for ONE picky azz strain. Let's see if it actually will work.

This DIY is made to cool the air I have in the cloners. Each cloner HSA an air line and stone.

Tools needed

20oz pop bottle, water bottles, lunch ice things, or the like.

Styrofoam cooler

Something to weigh down the packs and air line tubing 8nside the cooler. I used a milk jug filled half way with cold water.

Fill cooler with 5" of cold water. Wrap air line around frozen item many many times. Place in cooler. Put milk jug or the like to keep the air line/bottle submerged.
Plug in, turn on, and wait about 30 mins and check water temps.

Before my DIY, water res temps are 82*. Cooler water temps are 61.
I have 20 mins left for my next temp reading. Air line alone reads 76* from cooler into aero cloner.

I'm not 100% sure this can or will work, but hypothetically it should.

10 mins and it dropped 1.2*

So imo that can/should lower 2.5g of water with pump running 24/7 at least 4* if kept up on keeping the water and replacement ice bottle changed daily.

I'll try and do some more tweaking a bit later.

One other option is to place the air pump directly on my basement floor. My basement floor reads 75*. Ambient temp is 81 in my clone shelves.

It's a work in progress. But for literally free stuff lYing around, and dropping water temps for basically zero cost. Win win in my book

So even after frozen gallon jugs (only half filled/frozen), I can get temps below 80.5ish. Either more air line submerged need to happen, or back to the drawing board.

I need to dedicate or at least mod quickly 1 cloner and be able to keep temps steady at 78* tops. 77 would be perfect. I run my pumps 24/7. I find its needed and for what strains I run. I'm pretty handy, and can build what have you. But a Roman aquaduct shouldn't be needed. Lol

Here's a pic of said cloner
2.5g square bucket

I have that same setup and run an interval timer 45 seconds on 3.5 minutes off,it works good.72* is what i think is the best temp for me.

Place the cloner into a larger tub, that's at least as tall and 1' bigger diameter. Fill bigger tub with cold water and ice bottles, jugs, or just ice cubes. By cooling the tub that the cloner sits in, may transfer the cold outer water and lower the cloner temp.

I think I need to smoke a bit for a better plan.

I'll come up.with a great idea. I'm also removing the wood lower shelf, and will have the cloners sit on the cold basement floor. Floor temps always 72*ish. In the past, I use to just put the cloners on the floor, and it always helped lower water temps 1-2*.

I got an idea, just buy a real one. It’s never going to be stable without a compressor anyway.

I was hoping to use some stuff I already have vs buying. I'm not too worried about cost, but my spares section is getting rather full.

Out of interest I am in the process of getting the bits together to build a m8 one. After buying a chiller for £40 quite yellow price I looked for the parts to build myself
Here are the links to parts

Was going to use a steel/box enough to fit 2 of the main components in (heat sink and fan)And loop them up .
I use a 4 bucket bubler system with buckets attached in a u formation with pump and chiller pumping across the open

Well the new timer seems to be keeping water temps at 78* tops. 1 min on, 5 min off. It's actually 50 seconds and 5:05.
