welli could see how it might reduce the stretch in a way but i dont think there is a way to totally cut the stretch out of there growth, plus i think alil stretch is good for them.
Even at that, how would that effect the plant? It would regress if anything IMO......jus the idea of something that thrives in light, then you take that away and it naturally would regress, even causing massive stress in certain cases......the only time I've had success with a darkening period is at the end 2weeks, I transfer to 13/11 to help induce the resin production within the object of minimally stressing the plant due to an overage of light, thus creating the need to push resin (its protection)
As for a control to a stretch, i've used BUSHMASTER very successfully in the beginning of flower (2/3wk) and it certainly DID manage the stretch
