Based on your diagram and from a DIY standpoint, visualize this; you "split" the timer output feed (120v or 240v) and route that to your mystery box.
That box is a relay/contactors and the 120/240v feed activates the contactors coil to switch to that feed. When the timer AC feed is "off", the...
Vertical is fine, but like anything, pluses and minuses.
Heat control/airflow/filtering requirements go up = $$$, even if the infrastructure supports it. Also, vertical scrogging -can- be trickier, so the grow itself needs to be designed with vertical in mind.
It also can be simpler to...
I'll add a combination suggestion/caveat to all of the above.
Like TTY I run a multistage (4-ish) continuous grow based on around a 2-3 week cycle.
As others have warned, pests/infection are a very real consideration with continuous grows and something I have had to do battle with myself...
Thanks!
I was thinking along similar lines and have already started a batch, after getting the butane down to the smallest of "whipped froth micro bubbles" and then adding my alcohol to redissolve. I just assumed that any remaining butane should purge along with the alcohol at the next stage.
In my area we have a couple cigar shops that also supply glassware. They have case pricing that is on par w/online after factoring in shipping vs. local taxes etc. and often stock 6-7- brands!
Might want to look into that possible option in your neck of the woods.
Quick question - is there any real negative as to how far you go with the initial BHO purge if you are then winterizing (in my case 2-3 times). I'm wondering from the standpoint of time as well as need. It may be a moot point when I eventually build/go with vacuum purging, but for now...
Opinions?
Some photo updates - 6 of the plants are in the 60-65 day range since flip. There are 6 strains as well so comparisons aren't applicable on this run. With future runs my goal is to have 3-4 of a same strain/plant age at any given moment.
I actually did that (duplicate unit), just not enough floor space, but it is a functional method/model without a doubt. I also created a single "side" on a wood flap (pot width) that via 4 screws can be swapped loaded. Awkward but do-able. Still tinkering and wishing I had about 4' more floor...
Well, my 2 piece unit was built on a concept of rolling out/exchanging another "half" from the veg area to allow just that, but relative to my current space layout (or lack thereof) I haven't been able to use it that way. I have found that the 4 non-scrogged plants can usually be rotated into...
Also, I fully admit to still being in an analysis mode relative to slow grows, trees and hedges versus denser, "younger/smaller" SOG style (vertical or otherwise).
Since I've spent a challenging last year with other grow issues, now that things are reasonably stable, I am still experimenting and...
Not to the degree you are attempting, no.
My short term goals were to expose much more colas, with less LST work and maximizing light within a near zero budget. ;)
Also note, this is "v2.0" and some of your experiment may well integrate into "v3.0"!
Well...not on purpose... :-)
I also had a Thrips infestation about 6 mos. ago that created some really unusual stress, which in the long run, created some nice bushes as a result!
Not a recommended method however ;)
Not on my end - with the exception of one "faster hybrid" my grows are slow and only one of those plants is within about 10 days from cut. The rest on the scrog have 6+ weeks average remaining and the inner/free standing are all ~30 days or less from having been flipped.
