My first grow sounds a little far fetched.

This happens for when I germinate using the wet towel method and when they root I plant them with the root in the ground and the shell out. The shell tends to dry out and becomes a problem. Now i just keep them most until the shell falls off.

I am wrong on the conversion. It should be To get an EC value, multiply the ppm reading by 2 and divide by 1000. Thus, if your EC is 1: 1*1000/2= 500 ppm.

My TDS meter reads in ppm.. If i'm not mistaking 1500 PPM would be 1.5 ec

Usually they show sex in the 3rd or 4th week. But on a 24 hour light it must change those dynamics. You could drop to 18 hours and see if that helps.
