How important do you guys think good filters are for passive intakes? When making passive intakes I notice a lot of filters will slow down air movement dramatically. Has anyone found filters that work or is panty hose level filtration the best we can do generally?

Yeah I'm on city water and there are definitely bad chemicals in there. I have a very good filter in our house for our drinking water but the filters cost $100 every 500 gallons. Not sure if there's a cheaper option, I'll have to do some research.
