I'm guessing you're doing a three light rotation. Sounds like a good plan. Sometimes you can buy a tent with all the junk already and that is a pretty good value. So I have a budget of $3000. Want to set up THREE 4x4s.. Been racking my brain for weeks on best setup and I've come up with a few I'd be happy with but I'd like to see if great minds thing alike because I'm tired of being indecisive. So if anyone would care to try, I'd really appriciate what you think would be the most efficient and optimal setup for $1000.. Tent, Filter, Fan, and lights.. It has to be an LED setup though.
Thanks
No matter what you go with it's going to add up quick I promise you that LOL. If Heat is any concern to you three watt LEDs are pretty efficient. To be honest I use cheap Galaxy hydros and I am pretty happy with them. I also put these cheap$20 panels from eBay on the sides just below the canopy to help with penetration not necessary though if you're doing a scrog.Look at pacific light concept, very good leds with out the added heat from cheaper leds.
The reason those cheap LEDs Purdue so much heat because they use 5 and 10 watt LEDs not as efficient and they are using spectrums of light that are unusable by the plant.Look at pacific light concept, very good leds with out the added heat from cheaper leds.
Are we talking your veg tent or flower tent?So if I had $600 for just the lights, what combo of LED would you guys get for a 4x4. I'm thinking 2 Mars 600.
From veg to flower. Led only..Are we talking your veg tent or flower tent?
From veg to flower. Led only..
If you're stuck on Mars Hydro you could probably get away with 2 of the 96 reflector-series I personally don't like Mars Hydro that much. To be honest if you are running 3 tents I would do the three light rotation it will be much more productive and you will have a yield every 30 days. From veg to flower. Led only..

I'll send you a link on that Three light rotation. You basically Run 1 veg tent and two Bloom tents that are 30 days behind each other. Honestly I like galaxyhydro a lot. The best thing for a veg tent in my opinion is t5 with 6500 k. Metal halide is great too but there's that whole heat issue. Not stuck on Mars. They seem like the best choice for that price range. Just trying to get best light combo for a 4x4. Never heard of light rotation method. Will be looking into it. Just wanted to run clones in a clone chamber then grow 12 plants from Veg to end in 3 tents. If there's a faster way to harvest, always down for that..
T5 with 6500k is what I'm running veg. Low heat, good output ,dirt cheap. I have a 600 led and my $70 8 bulb by 2 ft t5 blows it away in veg. I put the led back in the box. So impressed by the t5s work over led that I bought red bulbs for bloom too. I am going to run every other bulb blue red blue red and put 4 of the $25 45w led panels on side walls. If t5 isn't good enough till add my 600 led over canopy. Prepping to flip switch real soon.I'll send you a link on that Three light rotation. I get where you're coming from. A lot of people like those viparspectra apparently they are decent for the money. Mars Hydro reflector series is a good one. There are tons of them out there to be honest they all work. I would recommend getting smaller units instead of one giant one and Bloom and veg switches are great to have.Listen, I'm not trying to get optimal yield. Just quick turn around. Doesn't make sense to use seperate lights for veg tent and lose the ability to flower them in that space if need be. Especially when im going straight LED which can do both. Regarding custom made stuff I'm not even going to get into. I've seen good results with a single crappy LED. I'm sure for $600, I can get a good set of lights for both veg and flower. Maybe 3 or even 4 Mars reflector 96s. Just looking for max efficiency with $600.
