I currently have a few grows goin on but am downsizing the plant count and going with a less is more approach

I currently run 2 RDWC systems, I love em but im wondering whats best....

Should I go HEATH style? Krusty? total UC type?

I'd love to hear some opinions on this one, it WILL be built in the next 10-12 days

Going to go 4x4 or so, VERTICAL bulb, homemade panda film tent, 6inch exhaust fan, no Co2, GH 3part with MOAB

STRAIN IS DABNEY BLUE

So whats the best bang for my DIY buck

Thanks farmfam

I consider Heath kinda the great old grand dad of UC that was on LSD and Steroids at the same time, lol

I was thinking of doing a 30-35gal tote type, with 2 return lines at 2.5inch and a 1inch feed, 750gph pump

I just dont know how GH would react to that system

OR

Doing a RDWC, just a bit smaller sizing and return

I guess theyre both mostly the same, just tweaked

Oh and the strain is Dabney Blue that i'll be running

while i definitely dont worship heath, i am very interested in this thread.

one light. one tree. 2lbs.

love it.

+1 on hempy too. maybe using one of those 27 gallon super tuff totes you find at lowes.

what do you think?

i was thinking of going from SOG (145 plants) to a 3 plant scrog staggered two weeks apart.

hp aero looked promising but the more i think about that style of nute delivery the more it breaks with my simple is better philosophy.

maybe something along the lines of 1 plant per 15 gallon container (done hempy) per plant in a modular scrog style set up.

just thought i'd share.

For ME, hempy is too time consuming

I also dont like any type of standing water, in my head it bugs me

Im NOT a Heath blow-jobber, I just admire his ingenuity (sp?) and desire to experiment, also NOT a lot of people show their attempts AND explain it too in detail, i appreciate that in a person

As soon as my RDWC finsihes up in the next 6-10 days, Ill be ripping that thing down and doin 3 rooms, 2-1k and 1-1200 with 2-600s. WOOO!

I dont understand the time consuming part, do u mean the manual feed? I manual feed now but next run it will be automated, and I already have the drainage automated 2 (kindof). I understand the standing water thing, but what bugs me more is dreading opening the door of my room to find dead trees and nothing i can do about it+ cost of set up+cost of electricity, HEMPY rules. Check Dizzles current hempy thread.
Jus my 2 pennies,

Good luck man,
Confu...

In another forum heath used 1 x 600W & managed to pull 46 oz dry (2.17 GPW)

Heres a sneak peek for those who havnt seen the system...

if you're an enthusiast, you know about heath.

if you're intelligent, you dont believe the internet hype.

my cock is 20" & i bang porn stars for fun ...do you believe me?

too, we got our own at the farm :

rather than be critical of heath, let's see what #s our guy does.

plenty of phat growers at the farm & all over the web in fact, i doubt many "pull numbers" like heath.

finally, slathering spit on heath's balls in preparation for a dubious over/under aside (& dont forget the rim), what does that have to do with this thread?

1 plant... 2 lbs ...not 100 plants (or whatevr) and claims of 76 zips.

my vote is scrog & light mover.

i was thinking hp aero in a 27 gal tuffbox... but i'm watching it develop in another thread & have my doubts as to the overall set up cost in a small plant count grow (you'll see i always go to that tuffbox as i think its the bomb container for the price).

hp super efficiency is da bomb though.

super simplicity of hempy is bomb too!

no way i'd change my set up (ebb & flow tables, sog, 145 cut/plants) ...till i was sure i could be successful in another area.... but my state's laws are harsh on people who grow like me!

since i love hydro, & hempy is THE simplest version, it seems sooooo logical.

& you can automate like other posters suggest... and still say big middle finger to dirt & fucking fungus gnats (no offense to the dirt guys/gals & insect lovers).

maybe a low slung ebb & flow. there's options. let's discuss & leave heath at the door.

i'm all about scrog... not too tall, style of growing that yeilds well, and is interesting.

unless i'm going outside, imo, fuck a big bushy tree.

Believe what you want. Heath is the king of trees and light maximization. I couldn't find the 76 ouncer but here is 56 ounces off 900 watts!!!!

I don't know; I consider myself fairly intelligent and I don't think he's making up his numbers - that being said, do I think all 3 pounds were AAA primo herb, even the plants that were 3' away from a 600? No, no I don't.......I firmly believe there's a tradeoff between efficiency and quality, and everyone has to find their personal inflection point.

my cock is 20" & i bang porn stars for fun ...do you believe me?

Probably not :)

Lol, to hold me as a measuring stick for the validity of Heath's grows is ridiculous :confused0054: My unit is MUCH less efficient than his, and my plant numbers are nowhere near his - I'd have to be over 300 to be comparable in plants/light (he had 84 lit by one 600, if memory serves, whereas I have 90 being covered by 4 600s). My only goal for this run is to bring 90 healthy plants to flower and minimize the fuckups; if I can accomplish those two things with all the new shit I'm doing this run, I'll be a happy camper :harvest:

The 27 gallon guy won't be nearly deep enough for a tree's roots in HP aero - looking at building a custom box if I go that way, something like a 3' cube-ish.

hp super efficiency is da bomb though.

Pretty happy with it so far - as a function of efficiency and growth, it's nowhere near comparable to any other system.

super simplicity of hempy is bomb too!

no way i'd change my set up (ebb & flow tables, sog, 145 cut/plants) ...till i was sure i could be successful in another area.... but my state's laws are harsh on people who grow like me!

Hempy would work if you don't mind the daily watering........that's a little much for my lazy ass, but would definitely work. If I was personally trying to grow a 2 lb. plant under 1K, I'd have to say the "best" (function of speed and reliability) way IMO would be a 40 gallon Brute trashcan transformed into a DWC container. That would kick some fucking ass, IMO.

You said it........I like growing buds, not branches..........but if the laws change I guess I'll have to lower my plant counts, so might as well get some practice growing them sooner rather than later.

I'm debating whether or not to go pick up a screen from HD as we speak.......
