In another forum heath used 1 x 600W & managed to pull 46 oz dry (2.17 GPW)
Heres a sneak peek for those who havnt seen the system...
bill you da man for staying with this thread.
though if it goes the dirt route my interest is gone.
i'd vote 27 gallon tuffbox from lowes.
gonna put that giant root ball at the curb for the trash guy?
while less than 30 gallons, @ $15, the tuffbox is a great container.
Bill when you're targeting your PPM's do you subtract the hard water in the faucet ? I have well water that is 400 PPM. If I'm aiming for 1200 PPM shouldn't my meter read 1600: 1600 - 400 = 1200.
Tthanks for the info,
Tha Reef
Lol, does it have to be a 1K or just somewhere in the neighborhood of 1K watts?
If you're up to doing something crazy, I've got an idea for you to try :)
1 600 in a reflector, directly above the tree (pretty standard).
1 600 in a reflector, HUNG VERTICALLY (i.e., perpendicular to the floor, aimed at the center of the tree).
Then get you one of these:

The plant is constantly spinning, getting blasted from above and from the side (all sides, as it rotates pretty quickly).............you'd have to do a handwater hempy or coco with this setup (I've thought of how to automated the feedings, but that's a whole nother thread), but I think this system would yield out of this world.
Put a tomato cage on that bitch and watch the magic happen.
