Its proven that the sea is rising.. I suggest everyone pays a visit to New York City real soon. Its gauranteed, that in our lifetime, New York City, will be underwater. As well as some other citys. Just watch.

My printed calender stops in January - am I to translate this as the end of the world??
I mean, how far ahead do you expect them to chisel into stone?
I cannot think of one other civilization whose recorded calender goes on infinitely.

Has anyone considered they just ran outta rock?? Or perhaps figured a 500 year calender was sufficient for their immediate needs?

The Mayan calendar doesn't end in 2012 it just starts over. This is the 13th time this has happened. Armageddon is completely made up, that started with the bible.

Well if Obama is president in 2012, my theory is this: The conservatives will finally lose it and their heads will all simultaniously explode, ending all unintelligent life on earth as we know it...

The sumarian writings are FAR from being the first. They are however the first to be decifered. There is SOOOOOO much interpretaion that goes into all of these things. Just live, grow, be happy this stuff is all very depressing and at the core of it makes us all seem like the shit of the universe you could grow those mushrooms in, texas and goliad cubies rock it hard in those low light situations, haha. Id rather just keep on being a blissfully unaware till whatever happens, not like we can do anything about it.

nothing is gonna happen - there is no planet alignment for a few more decades - so toss that theory - there was one back a few years ago and it did nothing unusual - no above normal tidal activity, nada, zip, zilch...

Planet X is pseudoscience based on the miscalculations of astronomers up to and before Voyager 2 straightened things out by showing neptune was smaller than they first thought. Origanlly Planet X was suppose to become visible in 2003, its not.
Zecharia Sitchinis was the person who translated some of the sumerian writings and connected it to Planet X. Its now widely known that he translated tons of stuff wrong. It says NOWHERE AT ALL ANYWHERE in sumarian beliefs we were formed by planets coliding its a story about two brothers tearing one another apart. The sumarians didnt give two shit about astrology till the babalonians and even then they thought the earth was flat, the sun revolved around earth, and they thought there was only 7! planets. We can PROVE that our earth was split in two 4.5 billion years ago, but we can also PROVE that we didnt get slammed into by Planet X 3600 years ago. Russia dosnt have pictures of Planet X. Its just a conspiracy theory based off of a book written by Zecharia Sitchinis.

The Sumerians were the first "civilized" society. But as far as having the first written languge well we dont know for sure. What about the mile long 230 foot high paintings in Egypt that match exactly to the Lascaux, France caves that predate the sumarians by 13,000+ years.
The caves in Lascaux have paintings that are nearly 30,000 years old. We dont know if some of the paintings are writing or just pictures, sumarian text is based of the egyptians at least thast the NEW belief. So yea sumarian text has unlocked quite a bit but its only the begginning. What makes me laugh is there arnt any space ships, or 10ft tall "aliens" on the Lascux cave, egyptian tunnels just animals they killed, cows THEY RAISED, food they grew. seems like there were some civilized cultures long before the sumarians.
