LOL... it made me go check my jars.
Everything is looking good in mine.
I have 58% (small) Boveda packs in mine, 2 per quart jar.

I pondered using Grove bags, but since I have never had an issue with my jar method, I will just stay on that course.

When the pandemic first hit, everyone and their 2nd mother was canning, and it became almost impossible to get jars in my area. And I was needed a lot of em, they took up a ton of space, took forever to burp, and a real pain to find a dark spot to store. So have been much happier with the opaque bags. They still have a light leak on the bottom (where they print their dumb logo) but IMO are sooooo much easier.

Did OP pack the bag really full? I think manufacturer says you’re only suppose to fill the bag about 50%.

Nothin agains pollen chuckers, I'm guilty as hell. But I don't sell seeds. I don't even give them away until I've grown a few. The ones that are subpar don't get bred or the seeds get thrown away. I do notice, the prettiest plant is never the best.

Slightly OFF topic I know, but if you ever have "Discarded" seeds that you don't want, PLEASE reconsider feeding them to your local birds or fish! Wild animals LOVE hemp/cannabis seeds for the high fat content and other important nutrition. Wild birds (and pet birds) as well as FISH go NUTS for hemp seeds! In Europe and in some parts of Canada and the US people still throw a few hemp seeds in the water and game fish go NUTS for it..Old trick my Opa (Grandfather) taught me. Signed..

Even HOSPITALS, I remember when you could smoke IN hospital as a paitient or visitor! That went away in the mid 1970's.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about them. 100% going to try then after this grow.

The bags are not the issue.

Get a good dry, and the bags will take care of the cure.

I saw my aunt before she passed away in 1983. They were letting her smoke in her room. They just told her take the oxygen tubes out of her nostrils first, lol. Not kidding, Long Beach CA. She died of emphysema.

I’ll try both grove bags and my trusty ball jars this year and will compare dried buds from the same plant. The beauty of quart ball jars is that you can view buds and read hygrometer if one’s inside and each one 3/4 full is about an ounce, it’s easy to track volume. Grove bags weigh much less and may have less surface area contacting buds and you can fit about 2 oz in a 4 oz bag. I’ll let this forum know my results come late October.

I get about 100-120g in my 1/4lb Grove bags - while leaving the "head space" empty. The bags were actually designed in such a way that the empty space required for proper curing doesn't detract from the actual storage capacity of the bag eg. I still get a 1/4lb of bud in the bag while leaving the required head space. I don't use any meters I just check the buds by hand when the plant is hang drying. One day after the buds feel "crunchy" they go straight into a heat sealed Grove bag and don't get touched until I smoke em.

The bags that come with windows actually have a separated window section for easy guidance when filling the bags. And no I would not recommend using Grove Bags for every day storage. What I do is I take out 1-2oz at a time and put that into a glass jar with a sealed lid. In the morning I will grab a handful of buds and leave them out so they get crispy as the day goes on

I read the pamphlet that came with the bags and I was wrong - they say “leave a minimum of 25% empty”. Also says to store in a well-ventilated and cool area at around 60 degrees as “cannabis respiration doubles with every 17degrees higher that it is stored in which increases the risk of moisture related weight loss.” (Their poor grammar, not mine.)

I think the point being that it will lose weight if stored at a higher temp, but also wonder if the bag can shed all the additional moisture if it’s too wet, not in a ventilated space, and/or at a high temperature. Guessing that if you stuck the Grove Bag in a paper sack it would defeat the entire purpose and could get moldy. This also makes me think the opaque would be better if your “well-ventilated” area isn’t dark.

My "well ventilated" space is a Rubbermaid storage bin

I keep all my jars inside a free grocery store give away cool bag. No light enters and it stays cool. The jars seem to like it...but next grow goes into the grove bag.

That cuts it, went to Mohegan Sun today, no smoking in the casino, Foxwoods and Twin Rivers too! Seriously, who’s a bigger gambler than a smoker!?
