Me too.... freaking hot as heck lately here.. lol very south east..

I've never heard of it please explain
your talking about the 2 techniques right?
F.I.M. = FU_K I MISSED.. where a guy was trimming a plant using long scissors and accidentally clipped the top of a plants leafs.. thought it was a mistake until it kept growing, he realized by doing this the lower branched took off like crazy.. ok.
Now get this, people are scared to trim or top auto's as they don't do well, but last grow of my BuggleguN I did a test with 2 identical plants and dude, omg what a difference.. check out my thread.. what you do is right after the plants sex and oh about another week into growth, you simply go to top of plant and gather up all the leaf material sliding your hand upward, cut them all in half.... that's it. this temporarily stunts the upward growth and the plant switches it's energy to lower shoots that simply take off like mad....

Pinching aka: Supercropping, see SOMA's grow book: At around week 6 of flowering, you go about half way up each grow shoot and lightly pinch the stem, there is only one side that is the right side, and you'll know with experience which.. if you lightly pinch it and get to much resistance, rotate your fingers 180 degrees and lightly pinch it.. if you get a light snap feeling, taduh.. you just supercropped...
now some consider supercropping something else, but I consider it this... as does SOMA and his book is where I learned it.. The result is everything above the pinch site blows up, the plant also is known to create more oils.. the Indians used to split the main stem and push sticks thru them stressing the plant causing more oils and is rumored they'd turn red.. Panama Red may have been created this way some say..
And don't worry about messing up, I've broken stems in half and had them fix themselves and make a knot and bent it 90 degrees.. as I used to bend all my plants this way to control height.... lol

Wouldn't recommend any added nutes???

I've learned that until they show sex, they really don't need much.. maybe some organic goodies to your soil.. with an outdoor grow, I'd highly recommend this: Espoma's Plant Starter Plus.. it has a nice low NPK of 4-3-3.. use about half of what is states on MJ plants.. after sexing, I use organics again.. Root's Buddha Grow/Bloom, HP2, HPK, Trinity Catalyst and Element for Cal/Mag... you can use Epsom salt for Calcium def too... I try to stay organic with my grows.. better flavor

I'm using biobizz and they seem to love it. Most organic stuff going I believe although don't quote me. I'm using Seraphim19 schedule which seems to do him v well!

Ok cool.. I started off using his schedule.. but after talking to some others and doing research, I found they just don't need much right off the bat. Wasn't sure myself until this last grow when all I gave them was Root66 until Day #25. Yeah, I could of fed them sooner, but if they grow well and don't ask for it, such as deficiencies, I hold off now.. saves foods too... lol but, learn this man.. to each his own, what works perfect for you may not for me.. and, when you find a technique that works, stop messing with it... I spent many years chasing the next best thing, I learned a lot the hard way and now know a bunch.. but screwed up a few grows along the way..
I have one friend who uses Miracle Grow soil and only gives them a PK booster at wk6, nothing else.. the old growers only used bloom boosters or just black strap molasses is all....

I got mine from amazon haha. Totally agree with quagmire, each to their own!

I happened to know a friend of the guy who managed this store and got all kinds of shit free.. loaded me up with samples of all kinds of stuff he gets from reps and gave me 10% off everything... then went to his back room and came out with a plant for my yard that is now 4ft tall... some Japanese plant with purple leaf's looks like pot leaf.s but isn't of course... very cool experience.. now have a good contact

Thanks a lot guys its been very helpful.. Looking forward to getting this show on the road.. Quag.. Last question what was your largest yield and the most plants you've ever grown at once??

Top of the day kind folks.Great site and a lot of information to absorb. New to the forum, not the scene. New to autoflowers however. Please forgive me if this has been asked/answered before:
I have several strains (bubblicious, somango, jack herer and purple cheese) going now, all about 3 weeks into flowering. The flowers are very whispy on most and the hairs are starting to turn. There is great trichome production but will the flowers continue to fill in or are they just about finished when the hairs go orange?

Hey Jimmy... 1st off, remember I'm on my 3rd grow of Autos and have about 25 strains to go thru.. best so far is AK47 x Sour60 and got a solid 1.5-2.0 oz off ea of 4 plants. I try to keep my numbers down to 6 and this run is actually my first one I achieved a full room of 6.. when I run 3gal pots 6 maxes out my little 2ft x 3ft deep room.. with a height of about 5ft to grow..
the ones I'm growing now I've not done before, but it's got a phenol of it that will yield probably an oz.. but then the other 5 2/oz ea.. so pheno's come into play big time and I try to pollinate the big ones to make seeds off them for bigger and better down the road.. we'll talk about pollinating later ok

Hey Epic, Oh how I remember my 1st grow 10yrs+ ago on Planet Skunk asking these very questions. so I love to help ok. I love Bubblicious, Soma's Somango and Jack Herer is one hard hitter.. Advice: Slow down a bit. Hairs will change color for many reasons.. it's in the strain, the rooms a wee bit hot, many will turn orange while others stay white.. Hairs have NOTHING to do with maturity.. trichome heads do.. besides that, your VERY early into flowering my friend.. with the strains you have I recommend you go a minimum of the following: Bubblicious= 9wks, Somango= 10wks, Jack Herer= 11-12wks, Cheese=10-11wks.. What you'll see as they mature is the wispy buds getting tighter, closing up and putting on some thickness.. you really need a jewelers loop. best $5 I ever spent.. you go by trichome heads.. milky heads is an up high, half the plants heads go amber your getting closer to your couchlock high most of us shoot for and why we go 10-12wks.. ask any question you want, I'm here to help ok..

Here are my plants at day #31.. my 3rd auto grow and a new strain. Lowryder 2 x Blue Himilaya. Looking like another 35 days for the faster flowering pheno. 45 or more for the others leaning a bit more Sativa with long fingers in the leafs..

Thanks Quagmire! I have a jeweler's loop :D I have always harvested by trichome clarity too. I just started to get worried when the hairs were changing so quickly on the autos. Normally I do not see color changes on my regular light cycle plants until the weather changes at the end of the season (USDA Zone 5a). I probably should mention that they are outdoor plants grown organically. I will take some pictures later today :) Great pics btw.

Man, I had no idea we were talking about autos with the hairs changing.. AF plants are totally a different monster and mature at such different rates.. the more runs you'll do the more you'll get used to things happening different. Kinda new to it myself on grow #3 and personally, I LOVE them.. My wife uses it for pain meds and used to be a very chronic smoker.. so shit weed doesn't do much for her.. my last crop is 2 hit stuff for her and to me that says a bunch.. AK47 x Sour60.. the ones I got going now have shown 3 diff phenos from the same seeds.. 2 already have buds all over them 2wks into flower while the others are still adding on growth.. some stink to high heaven, the others only if you touch them..
I'll be glad to keep assisting you with your AF plants anyway I can and the others too... take care man
