View attachment 536867 View attachment 536867 View attachment 536863 View attachment 536863 Hey guys, ok, I'm growing two auto OG Kush from Nirvana Seeds.
First off lemme just give the basics: ALL the variables/factors are EXACTLY the same for these like medium (FFOF Soil about 50%, mixed with 15% perlite, 25% vermiculite and roughly 10% sphagnum moss for texture/aeration, etc) in, I believe, about 3 gal pots...lighting is 1 250 watt 2700k CFL emitting 15000 lumens that serves the 'main' light for the entire tent (btw is a black, reflective Mylar lined grow tent, measures 25"x25"x48"; I have one 4" fan for intake and a clip on 7" fan inside the tent for circulation as well as a 4" Ventech fan pulling heat/exhaust thru a 4" aluminum/foil 'dryer line exhaust' 450 cfm attached to a carbon scrubber) as well as a light fixture I rigged with TWO 45watt 2700k CFL's AND TWO 23 watt 6500k CFL's that altogether put out somewhere in the 10,000 lumen range. Also I just put 2 more 45 watt 2700k CFL's for back/side lighting)...
Ok, I'm just gonna cut to my question, as quickly as possible but including any essentials y'all should know: ok, as these are autos and are generally light feeders (so I've read) but I DO USE NUTES! and I'm thinking maybe too many, not necessarily too MUCH as I use about 30%-40%, at most, of the amount recommended on the bottles. I use as my BASIC nutrients the Fox Farm Soil Trio that consists of: Big Bloom, a micro nute, NPK of .01-.3-.7 and includes EWC and bat guano; Grow Big, for veg, NPK of 6-4-4; and Tiger Bloom, for flowering, NPK of 2-8-4. In addition to these I use a bunch of Advanced Nutrients different products: Voodoo Juice, Tarantula and Piranha (for roots) and ALL the aforementioned products I use basically throughout the plants life, veg and bloom unless instructed otherwise on the bottle. Also during and towards the end of flowering, again depending on instructions, I use: CarboLoad, Sensizym, Big Bud, Nirvana, Overdrive, Budcandy and, appropriately, Flawless Finish. All that said, I'm still dialing it in and trying to see which nutes are really making the difference for what I spend on them. This is hard because I have a small grow space that's really only big enough to grow 2-3 plants so doing a kind of 'control' experiment to discern the efficacy or lack thereof of using these nutrients.....long story short; Does anyone have experience with any or all of these products and how well they work and/or what I can do without or if any of them maybe counteract the effects of another???
Also, last thing, I promise. If my plants soil is dry and basically, I feel, COULD be watered daily, should I water it daily? ( I know, stupid question) I mean it's a big plant and probly could use the H2O every day, sans the nutes. On the other side of the coin (and tent, lol) I have my other plant which surprisingly is an absolute DWARF (although it's only about a week younger), gets the same nutes, same light schedule (18/6) and even came from the same batch of seeds! I think I may have stunted it by letting the tap root get exposed when it was about a week old which I then immediately put it in its final pot.
Alright, I'm done now. Thanx for bearing with me, if you did, for this whole thing.
I'm releasing this post in paperback in December so be on the lookout, lol!!!! Totally joking. I'm including some photos as visual aids and just to let you guys see how they look and if you notice something I don't. Peace!!!

P.s. Tent temp is 72*-80* with RH of between 36%-42% and the big girl is in week 2 of (pre?)flowering.

Guys quick question, so using rock nutrients line up on autos but I also use humbolts secret golden tree which is suppose to replace nutes lik bud candy, big bud, b52 rock resonator asorbalight etccc... It's literally a all in one supplement but my thing is can I mix the golden tree with rock resonator to have a super bloom booster or should I choose either or

Ok, not sure I'd mix them but do a side by side comparison if you can with 2 plants.. me, I love organics so I'd actually lean towards the Golden Tree and curious about it being an all in one other then calmag nutes..

It actually says not to on the bottle:
Remove ALL nutrient supplements that you are currently usingexcept Cal/Mag.

Meaning, if you are using any root stimulator’s, growth accelerators, bloom enhancers, sweetner’s and any other supplemental products, stop using them, as Golden Tree is a complete Nutrient Supplement!
So, I'd test this alone first and like I said, side by side with one plant getting just this and another plant getting the Humbolt Nutrient. Then on your next grow, try using the Golden Tree and one time at week 6, add one single dose of the Resonator as a PK booster to see what happens.. I'd start with half strength though.. nothing wrong with experimenting but go with a light hand and never mix the nutes directly together.. add each to water then into your 1gal jug or whatever you use.. good luck, let me know what you do...

thanks quag yea at first I was a lil trigger happy thinking more the better, the golden tree is some awesome shit you literally she a difference within hours of watering... Just a feeling of I'm not using enough comes over you when using it lik literally just need base nutes cal mag nd golden tree that's it I will definitely go with the side by side thanks again

I will do a side by side and keep posted...... I believe my only other issue is cal/mag issues read a few threads that when using leds cal/mag issues intensify even with autos the dose on label shud b followed currently using 3ml per gal with no progress every other watering

Since I switched to Roots Organic soil I've not had a Calmag issue yet.. this stuff is magical and I use it over and over again.. this soil is on it's 3rd run, no flushing I just stop nutes about 10 days before harvest.. one grow I actually only used nutrients twice as a test and the plants did just fine.. go read up what all is in this soil.. Roots Organic by Aurora..---- HTG Supply carries it near me. not bad price either.. just add some fresh soil to the reused stuff and all good... and on your feeding.. as long as your not seeing leaf tips browning, a sign of nute burn, keep giving her a little more each time you feed.. some pheno's gobble up the nutrients and this stuff sounds awesome.. and the NPK on it is low enough that you should be able to double up the dosage like I used to do with Fox Farms big bud.. luck brother.

Thanks quag all day been looking at air pots and coco coir and Dutch passion results on their Facebook page is mind blowing I have noticed throughout this grow not real good drainage using Ffhf then again I didn't add any extra permits etc... Just looking to better my setup not quite dialed in yet

These leaves curling and being extremely thin, is the plant repairable as such

:/ very far from underwatering :( I've jst given it a massive 2day flush coz there was slight burning to the tips, not light burn either as I'm running cfls, ill have a look about for some cal/mag tho, gutted really as I know this wouldn't have happened if I'd stuck to what I know, plain simple rainwater, still get blinding yields but the plants are healthier again without nutes it's like 2 men go to the gym, 1s on steroids gets proper ill 2nd guy don't use roids n never gets ill on comparison

It's not calcium or magnesium.
If you have done a 2 day flush, then let her dry out a bit and see where the new growth takes you. Before the flush it was just burnt tips? I would say you've overwatered a bit. Did you let her dry out before you flushed the second time,or did you flush one day and then flush again the next day?

Brown spots,it could be a calcium problem. Have you tried a saline spritz? Epsom salts foliar.

She's starting to look better now think I got confused with the nutes schedule, gonna give it a couple more days before slowly starting on the nutes again

If your doing an auto do you need specific lights for veg/flower period. Like 6500k and 2700k or could I keep the same lights for whole life cycle. Was just curious about to pop royal queen special queen no.1 and short stuff pink grapefruit. Lmk new to the auto world.

I ran blue cfl thru veg, changed to red cfl when she showed her pistils dual spectrums are c@&p on comparison well worth spending the extra on separate bulbs
