This is puzzling to me because the stuff I had in 80s did not come from an all black plant. It was an electric gold color with black in it. I'm actually seeing that color in my stems and the scent is very spice heavy so I'm actually getting very excited myself. Thanks for the info brother and the pics! Nice buds! The internodal spacing is a bit stretchy in mine as well. I can see some Sativa traits too now. It looks like a hybrid to me. But what do I know...? It COULD be a green phenotype of Black Magic African, but certainly doesn't have the black dominance of the legendary African Black Magic like pics that I provided from my friend who lives in Durban. Which is the ONE that I'm searching for!
Good luck and happy growing brother!
Sweat COB Fermented/Cured ?????This is puzzling to me because the stuff I had in 80s did not come from an all black plant. It was an electric gold color with black in it. I'm actually seeing that color in my stems and the scent is very spice heavy so I'm actually getting very excited myself.
I think we are after two different strains that happen to be called the same name?
I'm wondering if the black came from a special curing process? I didn't know too much about cannabis at the time as I hadn't started to grow yet.
Well, been doing a bit MORE digging and found some very interesting information! So it turns out that apparently African Black Magic is actually a cross breed hybrid of Swazi Rooi Bart cannabis strain and the Black Congolese! Which genetically explains the green/black AND the blue/black phenotype! This is puzzling to me because the stuff I had in 80s did not come from an all black plant. Some plants (especially strains that produce purple buds or leaves) will naturally grow colorful stems. These stems may be reddish but typically look closer to purple than bright red. The purple color appears on stems all over the plant as opposed to just places that are getting light.
Might have a slight effect, but overall, it mostly affects potency because the seeds take a lot of energy to be produced. You do know that you're going to have to send everyone HERE a sample so that we can vote, RIGHT...?I won't be much help going forward as 3 of 4 are now pregnant!
As I said at the beginning I wasn't planning on growing indoors this summer but the potential BAM seeds changed that.
My last grow in this space ended in late May. I purposely grew some Northern Lights past their peak for the sleepy effect and had a few bananas at the end.
Cleaned room but left big heater in there that was not used since April. Needless to say the closer to the heater the more pollinated they became.
At least I believe this to be the reason? I have very large outdoor plants on same property but so far they are all fine and no hermis indoor or out, as far as I can tell and no other pollination.
So my flowering time, size of buds/ yield, taste, smell and effect will be somewhat tainted but it doesn't appear to be a total pollination where all buds have been affected.
NL x BAM?
One is now showing female hairs and the other one is not showing YET, but I'm betting that it's female because males tend to show first in my experience! So... Maybe luck after ALL!I'm still waiting on the COA that was promised to US!
ANYONE here plan on having their buds analyzed especially for THCV content???
Well, I don't know yet, but mine have structure of males....

“Who Me”
AmenFor thousands of years human beings have looked to plants for antidotes to their health problems, and for natural remedies to deal with diseases, or even prevent them. Although the origin of these practices centres in Asia, their current use by various peoples is due to the exchange of knowledge between ethnic groups throughout history.
In Africa, a relevant case is that of the Batwa, a small African tribe in Uganda, whose members have a curious habit to keep from getting sick: they believe that all diseases can be cured by continuously using marijuana and having sex. There are no documented cases of AIDS amongst its members. And, curiously, when a couple marries the groom's family must provide the bride with at least one kilo of cannabis.
