It wasn't you; i was not clear (blame it on the first joint of the day...)

nah, but i am not going to "groom" it either. Some how i don't think those larger dried sugar leaves will taste bad(they are covered in crystals) but the stems might make it a bit harsh and not do much for me. I'll use my fine point nippers to snip the stems of the larger pieces, then yes I intend to smoke after curing. I think most consider this dry trimming; so be it. I generally trim right after harvest but before hanging to dry. Thought I would try something different.

Update: Lollipop Time

Time to trim up ms green. I am using LST like crazy on ms. green, trying to get as many bud sites as possible while at the same time trying to keep it from overshadowing the stunted ms yellow. Ms yellow is about 95% healthy now. Only a couple of the leaves showing any signs of spotting. Using a fine mist on both plants (1 a week on both plants now). Now that flower is in full swing i have started foliar feeding using silica @ 200 ppm; in rotation with Liquid Karma (kelp seaweed extract, seabird guano, fish meal, potassium carbonate) & Regalia-CG. For this grow i am going to put a day between each application. If it proves to be game changer, then i'll try it rotation without the off day.

Thank You. That is certainly my plan. The last two grows have been a bust with regards to the SCROG net (see "2nd times.... in signature"). I mean the weed was fine, the net was way wacked.... So i am hoping to do much better this time. At least it looks like i have them almost even. Trying to wait for ms yellow to catch up, now that she is not 'illin from the spots. I had to remove so many leaves the growth was stunted for sure. A month ago it was the larger of the two.

Take some leaves off the bigger plant to stall it, so the other plant has time to catch up.

Roger that! Thanks

update: Haircut complete!

I took everything over 3 inches. I left one large fan leaf attached to the base of each bud site.

Update: The Stretch Is On!!

Still trying to let Ms Yellow (on the right) to catch up. Since the haircut on Ms. Green last Saturday, Ms Yellow has made a little headway. I am going to leave the far right branch in hopes that it will shoot for the light through that hole. I have already taken the main cola an leaned it to the center-right it has blocked one or two buds but they are going to have to fight for the light if the want it.

Darwinian Rules around here!!

I'll trim up the underside of Ms. Yellow this weekend and get that skirt all cleaned up.

thanks. I was a skeptic; based mostly on my repeated failures at LST. This grow truly looks much better. I have only added two additional nutes this run.

At week 4 (start of flower i added "Sweet" and "Liquid Karma" which is just seaweed extract. I have been using liquid karma as a foliar feed and in the rez. However I will now use it exclusively in the rez while using Nitrozime for foliar feeding for the rest of the grow. I have one more feeding of CNS-17 as soon as the ppm comes down some more. It is currently down to 940, When it gets to 850 I will add half the recommended feeding of CNS-17 Bloom. That should push my ppm's up to about 1200/1250. That is about as high as i want to push it. I won't feed again before harvest and only add half a measure of cal-mag as I pass through 850 on the way back down towards flushing which usually starts around week 12 until harvest (i will try to push to 16 weeks if i have the room).

I am beginning to really believe.

UPDATE: Jack & the bean stalk...

  • Feed 50% CNS-17 grow.
  • Foliar feeding with Nitrozime
  • weekly applications of Regelia-CP
  • Foliar feeding with Silicon Blast

Bud sites are beginning to put on weight. I did notice some upturned edges that look like temp stress. Checking the pulse graph, it appears that the temp itself was fine; i am pretty sure my problem was that i had all 4 fans (one has since burnt out) pointed at the top of the forest; causing a low temp at the leave instead of the usual problem i have which is too MUCH heat at the leaf. I have since (discovered Wednesday) all of them towards the ceiling. Temp seems to have remained the same. mostly.

Good Morning and Happy Easter Fellow Farmers!!

I need help identifying this please!

I found these three leaves at the top of the canopy of the Ms Green on the left, not on the previously ill'in Ms Yellow on the right. Weekly applications of Regalia-CG continue.

I think this is a manganese deficiency,
This is as close as i can come based on data i found here: https://www.growweedeasy.com/cannabis-plant-problems/manganese-deficiency

Problem: Leaves may become yellow in between the veins, with mottled brown spots on the affected leaves. These brown dead patches may spread and eventually kill the leaf. Leaves may also shred and fall apart.

Overall growth of the marijuana plant may be stunted. With a manganese deficiency, the yellowing will begin at the base of the leaves and move outwards towards the tips.

Solution for Manganese Deficiency in Cannabis

Your plant may also exhibit signs of a manganese deficiency if the pH is too high, or if the plant is getting too much iron.

Please note: After a manganese deficiency is cleared up, the problem (brown spots and yellowing leaves) will stop spreading to other growth usually within a week. Please note that leaves which have been damaged by a manganese deficiency will probably not recover or turn green, so you want to pay attention to other growth for signs of recovery.

  • In soil, manganese is best absorbed by the roots in the 6.0 – 7.0 pH range (some growers recommend keeping the pH slightly lower, from 6.0 – 6.5, if you suspect a manganese deficiency in particular)
  • In hydro, manganese is best absorbed by the roots in the 5.5 – 6.0 pH range (in hydro, it’s generally recommended to keep the pH between 5.5 – 6.5, but manganese specifically tends to be best absorbed below 6.0)

I'd bet my last dollar it's Calcium def, plant's sucking in all the leaves it doesn't need, like all the three leafers.

Damn Cal-Mag again. I have been afraid of overdoing the cal-mag since i toasted an entire grow; so i have only been dosing @ 50% per week to 10 days. Seems like i might need to up it to 75% (and ensure it gets dosed weekly) during flower.

Thanks

Only use a little Cal/Mag, I use 10ml a month total, I don't go by the bottle instuctions. I'd push my PH up first and see if that shifts it, because your plants are so green you cant not be feeding it in some way, so only use it when you have to.

So if i understand correctly; you are basically saying to continue what i am doing, just pay close attention for first signs of def? I have been in the "use sparingly" camp for awhile now.... Does the fact that some of the leaves are beginning to show purple stems, also indicate the need for the Mag portion as well?

Sorry, been busy. Forget red stems, they're a weed forum ghost, you'll chase your tail forever. Every plant I've grown has had red stems and I took 9 and a quarter gallons of weed from my last run, just put it down to genetics. If I have lovely leaves and good colour I don't worry, if I have crap leaves, then some thing is wrong.

Edid - I just use calmag, because 7 out of 10 times I get mag after, so I just treat for both.
