I use to press rosin with the thermal plates and the filters, making any kind of decent yield of usable extracts takes a lot of effort. Yes you can smoke right away, but theres always terpenes that are lost as well as you will never press every single thing out. Using a close loop setup, you are running through a micron screen, separating most of the solvent from the product before transferring to the vac oven. And being able to reuse your solvent with some waste. I also use to run CO2 extraction and solventless, both of those leave the terpenes behind, and you will never have a completely stable oil. And if you want flavor you have to add terpenes extracts back in. Terpenes extracts can run a lot depending on flavor

True but i use the "waste" for edibles.and you can smoke it as well like fake hash there is soo much left you can get a decent high.
How much did the vacume cost you?

The vacuum ran about 2400, and the oven was 3200. The close loop was about 5 grand for medical grade stainless steel and clamps with gaskets. Recovery tank was 220. There more I have to it. But that's just the starting off price for the size of setup I have. They range so much in price. You can buy vacuum pump for way cheaper. Mine is a refrigerant recovery pump for the close loop. For the vacuum oven, that one is only about 500. The oven only has a port for a vacuum so you do have to buy one additional.
