The trainwreck has finished and is smelling ever so nice in the house,,lol. The so called pop corn buds are few,,most have some size to them which is awesome. The tiny leaves had yellow tips, at first i though nana's , but it was just the leaves,,lol the drying has begun.

The Blue Dream is just starting to get some milk color, so checking each day, there still pretty thirsty girls. The tops are starting to flop, so need to get some support on a few.

The Blue Dream is ready for the final stage. They have been de-leafed of larger leaves and are now in the dark for the next couple of days. Then they will be harvested, all are looking frosty and tasty. I have never tried this strain before, so looking forward to it.

As for the trainwreck,,also a new strain for me,,dried a nug and all i can say is, it has the proper name,,hahaha,,,it has a very earthy, sweet, almost perfume flavor and it is not cured yet, ways to go, very pleasant and no cough effect.

Blue Dream before the dank, oops I mean dark period before harvest.

LOL I finally harvested the Blue Dream, they have been in a dark tent since Thursday night. I was delayed, had the grand kids this weekend, more important fun. lol I finally finished them last night. The buds are so dense, I need to really watch how they dry, as the humidity is rising here. I have never tried this strain, so looking forward to the smoke. They will hang this way for a couple of days them off the stem to the screen.

So tell me Sister @Icristal, I can see you are a dark period fan. I have not tried it yet. Very curious on your logic and success, which is obviously great!!

Hey thanks @Derf Werfler :)
I just started doing the dark period the last 2 grows. I had been reading about it, and after the first try I was sold. The buds were so much stickier and the finished look was different. Here is a picture comparison.

Just before shutting lights off a few days before harvest:

After being in the dark for a few days, on harvest day.

So I think there is enough difference for me to continue doing this.

Day one on 12/12,,,2 Cherry Pickers,,,,1Trainwreck,,,,1Blue Dream.

These should be done by the time the CBD strain and test strains are ready to flower. Might as well do a run while I wait lol. It will be a test for me as well to see how I can manage warm weather indoor grow.

The ladies in the tent are doing fine. All have started the good bud sets. The Cherry Picker does not like being in front of a fan or have a fan blowing on it. Got a curl and it stopped once I move the fans. Otherwise grow great. The trainwreck and blue dream are already showing cal/mag issues and will be adding that, probably for the remainder of the grow. Boy do I miss the camera on my phone,,lol

I am sorry to say , the flower room is shut down for a little while. Unfortunatly I must have missed some Russet Mites and they invaded my flower tent. I check my plants every day and it was like they showed up over night, but im guessing not and need to look even more closer. I will be doing the required cleaning again, a couple of times and this time I will be letting off a bug bomb in the area. I also lost my veg room again and will do the work again to get a clean room. It is near the flower tent, so it will also get the effects of the bomb as well.

Good luck all

The train wreck,,,smoke on this one is very good....piney flavor inhale and lavender on exhale,,more than one person say's this,,slight cough, but not bad, reaction is your gone before you realize it had hit you,,lol,a good night time smoke,,east to fall asleep and wake rested. very couch lock.

The Blue Dream,,really a day time smoke, no cough effects, slightly heady, but more a comfortable body and energy . Inhale earthy , exhale fruity/berry,,very pleasant easy to smoke,,didn't notice the hit until I realized I was busy doing stuff with extra energy,,hehehehe,no couch lock for this stuff.

Russet mite update. I have been micro cleaning for weeks (big room) and have a couple more things to finish. Then the bug bombs will be going off. I will then reset the veg room again . The bleach smell is everywhere,,lol,,but only while cleaning,,smells nice and fresh when an area is done.

The tent is disassembled and cleaned every seam and crack in it. I might not put back in this area or set up for awhile.

I have ordered a different size tent to fit the space better and it will be here soon. If I can get power in my attic, the old one will be set up there as a second space to grow in, one can hope, lol.

I have picked up some Green Cleaner and have started to treat the outdoor plants and will keep this up and carry on using indoors as well and will become a regular part of my care of the plants. Still learning and the mistakes make us learn more and more.

The bug bombs have been let off and the end of the huge cleaning is almost done. We have decided to remove the old horse hair plaster from the veg closet and replace the wall with new panels and seal the seams well. Before the panda was stapled to the wall. So a little work still.

Running a test on my new bag of soil. I have had a few issues with some of the bags with gnats and going to see what there before using. I opened a new bag, poured into a clean bin, put the yellow bug sticky paper taped to the cover inside and closed it up. So lets see if there is anything in the soil before used.

After 3 days and moving the container in various heat situations,,,I am happy to say there are no bugs from this bag on the sticky card. But I will still keep watch just in case,,lol I will be doing this to new bags from now on,,,part of keeping things clean.

Additional information on soil test. As long as the soil stayed bone dry,,no bugs showed. When moister was introduce to the sealed container (humidity),,it produce fungus gnats. So pre treating the soil before using and will watch out for this in the future. I like this test. Might even drop a line to FFO makers about this.

The response from Fox Farm....
Thanks for contacting FoxFarm regarding Ocean Forest Potting Soil, I’m happy to provide some insight!
We take quality control extremely seriously and this is not the feedback we typically receive.
You are correct in that letting the soil dry out reduces or eliminates the majority of insect populations. Reducing watering frequency and allowing the soil to go through wet/dry cycles helps to create an inhospitable environment for pests such as fungus gnats.
To preserve the beneficial microbes that are in our soils, we do not steam sterilize them, so there can be a possibility that certain insects may inhabit a bag of soil. We would like to assure you that our production facility is extremely clean and all of our raw materials are of the highest quality. Our products are tested several times an hour on the production line for quality, consistency, and cleanliness; because of this, it is very rare that an insect infestation would originate from our raw materials or production facility.
Insects may crawl into a bag somewhere along the transportation route or in storage at a distribution center or retail store. Because insects thrive in a moist soil, soil stored outside is especially susceptible to insect infestations. We encourage customers to purchase FoxFarm soil from a retailer that stores their soils in a clean, sheltered, climate-controlled environment. We also work closely with our distributors to ensure the same storage procedures are being followed to help with prevention.

If you are ever unsatisfied with FoxFarm products, we have a 100% satisfaction guarantee through the authorized FoxFarm dealer that it was purchased from, just be sure to bring proof of purchase. The store it was purchased from can provide an exchange or refund.

We appreciate your continued support and please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. To learn more about our company, new products, and download our latest feeding schedules please visit www.FoxFarmFertilizer.com.

Here are some pictures of the yellow sticky on the underside of the bin. The strip is full of gnats. I have been treating the soil with neem and soap mixture, trying to get ahead of the game. Stir spray, stir, wait, do over every 4 days. Here are the latest results. I have trapped several gnats and there is also a new addition. I am not sure if this is mold on the gnats, but it sure looks more like spider activity. I have changed the spray to green cleaner and soap mix tonight , so we will see what happens. I am going to put a new yellow sticky on the lids to check the changes, Here are a few pictures of what I see. Not liking how this is developing. I have lost 2 huge crops to Russet Mites and do not want a repeat of that.
