Shortage = more profits for companys

If you don`t believe the drought is real come up and take a look at the lakes...er what used to be lakes. Now just where are those aqueducts going to get the water to flow in them this summer? Believe me I have to go by one of those lakes when I come to town out of the mountains every time. There isn`t much but a little mud and that`s going to dry up soon. We are in a major drought and if it keeps up most wells will all be dry soon . Also expect electric to shoot up as the hydro dam projects cut off. This is dead serious stuff !

I didnt say I didnt think the drought was real..did I?
I was saying that shortages are profitable...thats all

our forecast on Wunderground say 50% chance tonight and 50% again in 8 days :meh:

If My well goes dry I would be done...Id have to give the place to the bank and leave
I dont even have a storage tank... and certanly cant afford to buy water
drilling another 500ft well would be a huge crap shoot..
yep...I think I would have to dump it on the bank.
and I dont think im the only one in cali that will do that if things get bad here
could be a mass exodus :wacky:
wow thats pretty serious bro , hope the rains fall , who would of figured that things so simple can destroy are lives ......

Funny you should mention that. Local hydro run by PG&E have stopped. Not enough water flowing through the Mokelumne.

california has been blessed with the weather it has received over the last hundred and fifty years. To someone who has not looked at the history of the climate there longer than modern records have been kept. Scientists who study climate have shown that on average over five thousand years or so that california regularly goes through hundred to two hundred year long droughts. In the thirteen hundreds there was a 240 year drought followed by a couple decades of rain then another 180 year drought. California is due for a very long drought historically speaking. twenty to thirty years would be a short drought in the big scheme of things and possibly much much longer. I hope this is not the case as but it is a very real possibility.

No don`t tell Jerry about it! He`ll start a new tax on canned dehydrated water before I can even get the idea off the ground! He may even want to make can openers with imprinted ID and require the cans to be registered and have no more than 10 oz holding capacity ! And no detachable labels allowed! After all, cans can kill people!

Please tell us more about this. I've done some very light reading on our geology, but not weather/climate patterns specific to the state/region.

Its pretty bad here in the central valley near fresno...farmers are not going to see any allocation of water and from what I gather they will have to run their pumps to water their crops...

Just started snowing here so I`d guess the higher country is getting even better. This is what provides water later in the year so any adding to the snow pack is welcome.

I'm familiar with ballotpedia, but not the water act(s). Are you getting rain? I woke up to soft, gentle, but steady rain. The kitties decided today they stay in.

K, the 'Rainy Day Fund' is fiscal only, nothing to do with water.

The Water Bond: "If voters approve the water bond, it will allow the state government to borrow $11.1 billion to overhaul the state's water system."

I'm generally not a fan of bonds. I'll have to read the rest of the proposal.
