even if they do legalize it it will take years to get a steady supply system going. Cali isnt the only place supplying weed. we import tons of it everyday from other countries. you think some company is gonna just be able to set up all these warehouses overnight? they will need to secure genetics and people to grow them and run these plants, people like you the growers that are so worried about this. Its not like big company got a ton of growers on hand to grow this pot. I'm sure over time college degrees and all that will be required but for now "we" will have to do.
On top of that no one is forcing anyone to buy weed from these companies. No one is gonna stop you from growing your own. If your good at what you do, and have genetics no one else does you will shine thru. Think about the money breeders will be able to make. I think we will be fine for years to come even if these laws pass. you just got to adapt. when they stopped prohibition the bootleggers started their own companies. Seagram's, the kennedys still make money to this day off of Dewar's Scotch. Poeple like us will have it easier i think. whats stopping us from getting together and starting our own companies?
they will just go to amsterdam or the clinics in cali to get genes. and how the hell are they gonna set up and produce tons in 6 mons to a year? it would take them that long just to get mom plants. or maybe they can do tissue cultures...idk? they need to hire staff, set up grow op's, secure distrubution and retail outlets. which they will need licenses(store owners). Plus they have to set up a sytem that is cost effective. no oen even knows what the price of the final product will be yet.
not only that we are consuming so much weed on a daily basis tons of it are coming in everyday. the only way they can be up and running so fast is to outsource the growing. and that is us.
Hello farmer, This is not a reply but a news update. I wasn't allowed to post on the news forum for some raeson unknown to me, but JOHN PATRICK BIDELL...walked to the doors of the defense dept and attempted to shoot two police officers. This happened at approx. 5AM EST and I just saw it on the news. The media is saying that this person, Mr Bidell was angered over the military and the existing Marijuana laws! This is important as it now links us to hand gun violence. Please pass this along to everyone . You will see it on the news this morning ......we will take a hit for this one. They will play it up and spin it for antiMJ laws old.Ford
The crazy part is that hand guns are legal and weed isn't.
Your predicted supply chain timeline makes sense, although there are a few points to make. Securing the top genetics is fairly simple-for anyone. Now for the people to work these factories, yes will produce jobs, help the economy grow, but it makes these people expendable to the company. What is going to stop these companies from patenting new strains, and anyone caught growing them being slapped with patent infringment penalties and possibly jail time? I agree we can start breeding companies here, we just need to be careful. We need to be at the forefront of Cannabis genetic research. Prohibition has hindered progress so much, who knows where we could be today. I am just weary about giving too much control to the government without proper guidelines.
