Killin it man. On the height, I used to adjust, but don't bother anymore. My lights are a good 3-4' from the canopy at the start of flower and end up purty close at the end.... I've had a cola grow right up into the hood. I run Blumats and don't pay as close of attention as I should. It burnt a little, but not till it got within 3-4". Not suggesting setting lights like me, just sayin. But I was running (3) LEC 315s in a 4x4 tent, so intensity wasn't an issue:cool:

I have 6 over 2 rows of 4, 4x4 tables with 9 plants per 4x4. All legal and medical for all ya'll plant counters (me included)

So is that going to increase coverage and obviously intensity? How will this stack up to a Gavita 1000W DE ?
Too me it looked like a bigger spread, around 5 x 5 but much more light intensity. Not sure how it compares to a gavita 1000 de.

Also, Gavita has a double 315W fixture coming out. Not sure when the release is.

I just love that little 315W so damn much. It's plasma for the masses! Or indoor sunlight!

Here's the pdf for the double d. What a great name.

I tried to buy this Colorado made product and even offered to clear out there inventory (12) and they wouldn't budge on the price.
Ps. If you're paying more than 350 for the ballast alone contact me. I'm tired of shops ripping off growers.

I'm pretty sure we paid nowhere near 550 for the units. he raised his prices because he couldn't meet demand, doesn't suprise me at all he doesn't want to let go of his inventory. I'm pretty sure he'll offer a deal if you want 100 or more.

Sorry for the late reply, having trouble uploading pics... probably something to do with the latest iOS update. Irritating. Finally got this one to upload. Bubba Danko (pre 98 Bubba Kush x Corleone Kush) that was grown in a 3 gal pot. That's the plant that gave me 5 cured ounces @ 62% humidity....

@BubbaG Nice handful ya got there. I'm starting my Blumats research.
Also Advanced tech lighting is selling ballasts that are NOT compatible with the new elite Agro bulb. They operate between 105 - 115 hz. This could cause the lamp to fail.

DNA ballasts are stamped 50 - 60 hz. I'm wondering if they are not a square wave which has caused my failures. I'm going to have someone electricity inclined look at it.

Nice to see that people here are experimenting with this kind of lights. Over here not many people are trying or using this yet....

I'm thinking about to set up a small room or tent with these new Dimlux fullspectrum (fullfixture)

The downside for me or the most people over here is that these lights are extremely exspensive and added to that is that with these lights u should get higher quality weed but here they don't really pay that much more for it (sad conclusion) If they would people would be more willing to invest over $1000 for one light.

All tho I'm curious and I like to try something new.

Here the specs for the ones who never saw this model,

"Dimlux Expert Series - 2 x 315w CDM (Ceramic Metal Halide) - Full Spectrum
Dimlux Ceramic-Discharge Metal Halide systems deliver a spectrum that’s much closer to natural sunlight than typical high intensity discharge (HID) systems. These state-of-the art lamps generate a greater level of useable plant light (photosynthetically active radiation) and run with a blinding intensity that's immediately apparent to the naked eye. The lamp is optimised for the bloom phase with enhanced reds, but, because it's full-spectrum, it will produce the goods in both veg and flower – expect to see increased growth rates, tighter internodes, an improvement in overall vigour and an increase in final weight. Come harvest time, you'll be left wondering what you did without one!

  • 2 x Philips CDM-TP 315w/930 – full spectrum lamps
  • A blinding intensity that's clearly visable with the naked eye
  • Excels as both supplementary and standalone lighting
  • Highly efficient - puts out 1.9 micromole (umol) per watt of electricity
  • Extremely high PAR levels
  • Full fixture – lamp, ballast and reflector!
  • Alpha 98 reflector with single bounce clearsight (SBCS) technology
  • Fully Maxi Controller compatible
  • Adjustable output levels from 165w to 380w
Dimlux Expert Series - 2 x 315w CDM
1 x Dimlux Expert 2 x 315w CDM system (lamp, ballast and reflector), 4m power cable

Dimlux Expert Series - 2 x 315w CDM (Ceramic Metal Halide) – Full Spectrum

Dimlux CDM fixtures utilise ceramic-discharge metal halide lamps to produce a light spectrum that’s much broader than other forms of HID lighting (like standard metal halides and HPS). Its output is more comparable to the light produced by LEP (light emitting plasma) units. LEPs actually have a slightly broader spectrum than the CDM fixture, but they simply do not compare in terms of brightness. You can see with your own eyes, as soon as you turn this Dimlux unit on, that its every bit as bright as its equivalent wattage in HPS, giving you the best of both worlds – a unit that delivers an LEP-style spectrum combined with HPS-style intensity! A truly exceptional all-rounder that will add much to the quality and size of your harvest.

Output levels can be switched between the following settings: 165w, 205w, 245w, 280w, 315w, 345w, 380w. With 7 settings, you have the flexibility to tailor your lighting to your plants demand based on environmental conditions in the grow area, ensuring that temperature stay well within range.

Because its full-spectrum, it’s also great for the vegetative stages, triggering rapid growth, speeding up turnover times and increasing the overall efficiency of your indoor garden. With a healthy level of blue/white light (at roughly 5000k to 6000k) internodes stay nice and tight, eliminating the issues with stretch that occur when using lighting with narrow, inadequate spectrums.

Everything is included to get you started, with lamp, ballast and reflector all rolled into one package.

This unit is fully compatible with the Dimlux Maxi Controller. You can daisy chain up to 160 of these systems using speaker wire and control their on and off times centrally - no need for contactors and timers! Just power the system directly from the mains and let the Maxi Controller take care of the rest. You'll then have access to an extensive range of features and you'll be able to automatically regulate lighting according to VPD (vapour pressure deficit). VPD gives us a much clearer picture of how the environment is effecting plants, describing the difference in vapour pressure between the plants themselves and the air around them. By using this measurement to reduce output levels when necessary, you'll ensure that transpiration rates stay optimal at all times. The stomata on the underside of each leaf will then stay open, ensuring that photosynthesis is completely optimal at all times. The effects are nothing short of amazing!

Dimlux Expert Series - 2 x 315w CDM (Ceramic Metal Halide) – Full Spectrum
Simply hang the combined ballast & reflector over the centre of the grow-space at an appropriate height using easy rolls or jack chain. Run the 4.0m kettle lead from the reflector to a standard UK mains outlet or your contactor and switch on."

Kind regards,

Lumen Boost

Ps; I will make a grow report when I have these toys.

I just added another SS LEC 315W for veg on a light mover 5.0. After I add another on each side, I get about 1000W full spectrum veg moving over a 12 x 12 area. .

Mothers and rooted cuttings just got their own 4 ft T5 8 bulb.

Better pictures soon. So sleepy.

@Lumen Boost Check these out. No need to pay a grand, I don't think. No MSRP I know of.

Thank you bob. How much do these cost?

The one thing I dislike about these lights is that they have the ballast like gavita. In spaces where u have less light u lose 20cm already because of the way the ballast is attached to the hood.

Added to that is that I work with the Dimlux Maxicontroller and these lights won't work with that controller (obviously)

I think someone will develop this dual 315W with a remote ballast.

My personal plan is the SS LEC 315W overhead, w/ Philips DE GP 1000W bare bulb vert running on remote Gavita Pro ballast.

So, that would be 36 x 315W overhead plus 8 x 1k hanging vertical.

After 2 full runs veg to finish with just the 315W, I think I need more red spectrum. Plus I need a reason to buy Gavita

Umm.. Well.......umm........

Just been caught! :p

But how awesome would that be. Does anyone have a link to someone running the DE vertical? Adding 1000W means I need to get another 1000 grams too though.....:bookworm:

I have no experience with this company, but IMVHO it looks like a Welthink digital ballast with another old fashioned MH over driven a couple watts.
Some of the website claims are ridiculous and strange too.
http://www.lastolights.com/350-bomber

Plus me thinks they got there name from a reputable Photography Lighting Equipment Company.
www.lastolite.us/

It seems to me companies like this and others (DNA, Grobal Enterprises) who's products I have tried and are replacing currently just want to make a quick buck on the new knowledge that street lights are not the best indoor grow lights.
Wait till they are ETL listed and find out who makes the "350 bomber" bulb.
Plus who knows what's happening in Nederland these days.
@EliteGrower didn't mean to burst your bubble, just my experience.

This might be exciting for all ya'll horizontal growers. I still like the single vertical unit better but I'll wait for PAR and spread.
