x2! I'm currently running .7EC Hydro. .1EC Mag. .3 EC of the Cal-Nitrate.

Make sure you add them in that order. I was adding the mag after the cal-nitrate and had the nutes falling out.

What week of flower do you cut out the Cal-Nitrate?

Just used up all my AN and botanicare to move on to Jacks for a bit, before I start making my own nutes. If you think the nute companies are bad, you should check out the comapnies that offer beneficials. I am currently sourcing a few kilos of all the bennies we need at 30% spore concentration (as opposed to .1% offered by most labels).

Im going to call them tomorrow to talk to a lab worker about the formula. It looks like a really, really low P formula as I said before based on Tissue samples of flowering Cannabis plants..... I need to find out how much S is in the mix and also I want to understand when and how to use the bloom booster. Im a low P guy to begin with, but this is a new level of not using much Phosphorus.

In my TarDawg thread you can see plants im growing right now using Jacks with Cal Nitrate.

Some of the plants are dialed in pretty well. Jack will make them amazon green and when the plants are really happy the leave will not be burned on the extreme tips or curled down at all like I see so many leaves in so many pictures....


Capulator that thread on additive on the gardens cure is a very imoortant thread to read! In fact ,although a lot of it was over my head at first, by slowly reading it and trying understand the information, I started to get a better picture of plant nutrition in time. That thread impacted me more than any other thread perhaps.....the information is stunning.

I got to page 20 last night and spent time figuring out the nute calculator. Such good info, and the learning process you have to go through while reading it is challenging, but eventually like everyone says, becomes crystal clear after a few go-overs. I haven't got to the part where they talk about jacks yet, but I ordered some anyway based on this thread. I will probably go tonight and buy the GH micro and bloom as well, just to try it out. Its a lot cheaper than what I have been paying (I even tried advanced this last run...) didn't see a big difference at all other than some cal mag deficiencies. I am using the last of it right now and then its on to other things.

Before I used Jacks I mixed micro bloom and grow from gh, but not like Lucas does or with his ratios. I also added cal mag.....you cant quite get the n-p-k ratios to where you might want them, but at the end of the day any liquid fert is just a small amount of a powdered salt that was added to h2o for you. You are paying straight up mostly for the water. You are better off buying the fert in a powder form!

Eventually in the thread there are ratios disscussed using gh that are very good and the talk turns to the use of Jacks. Also flushing and the use of ph down are talked about a great deal...

I ordered some software that has all of the nute companies nutes reverse engineered, nutrient calcs, etc, to make your own nutes. It just arrived yesterday, and I haven't had a chance to look at it, but I will post it up here if I find some good info through it.

On the gardens cure thread, the user cavadge describes his success with a formula close to fatmans, that is not lucas (actually almost the reverse of lucas) using no grow at all. Have you played with this formula at all?

Ive used jacks in the past, accually got some of my best results, and also easyest results with it. Been trying to replicate what i could do with jacks ever since.

Capulator I use the ratios we talk about eventually on the thread, similer to fatmans. I talk about it in many of my threads too here on the farm.

Ive listed my exact nute profile many times.

I dont follow the profile used by Lucas and I dont believe its ideal although Lucas had a big impact on getting me to think about what I was doing. I also believe in frequent as in once a week reso changes. I would never use the same water for a whole grow like Lucas. He started some bad shit with that IMHO. Bad habits in the least.

I find Lucus is often the gateway for seeing plant nutrition in a totally different light.

And also agree with snow-blind. Not ideal, but if your running it 99 times out of 100 its better then what you were doing.

The hydro herb is a very low P formula and you suppliment with Epsom salts im sure. Im using the hydro herb now at 3 grams per gallon and im adding 2 grams of epsoms per gallon of water! The formula seems to be very close to tissue sample of cannabis.

Plants seems really happy. The latest pictures in my TarDawg thread and my Straw Mix Hydro blast thread are using the new 1 part. It does not seem high enough in Mg on its own for some strains. Hence the need to add Epsom salts.

You need the bloom booster for flower. Thats what im figuring out exactly now. I ordered both the 25 lb hydro herb, the 25 lb bloom booster and another 25 lb bag of Jacks Hydroponic as well in case I was not happy. We will see how it goes. I might start a thread on Jacks one part or discuss it in the thread I made on understanding plant nutrition.

I ran hydro-gro dry nute from cropking and was real happy for the price. I am going to try jacks next and see how it goes.

I think this is a real great thread that will help out alot of people who are paying way too much $$ for some watered down nutes from companies that I think don't care about us and just want our money, maybe some of these "cannabis" nute companies are here giving support and I just don't see their posts?

Fatmans ratios are near 3-1-4. Capulator means reverse of Lucas in the way you mix the ratios of 3 part. The numbers come closer to 3-1-4 with some manipulation.

What do you think are the proper ratios if there is such a thing?.. I have been doing a lot of reading and it seems that those ratios work pretty well for those using them.

My jacks just got here exactly in time for my weekly res change at station #1. Cant wait to change the water. I will keep this thread updated with my results and pics.

Snowblind are you using RO, is that why you are using the epsom salts with the Jacks Hydroponic?

Do you think you will have to add any additional calnit with the hydro herb or the bloom booster?

I tried to look if most of the nitrogen in the bloom is nitrate but is really hard for me to read, I wish they would get rid of that black backround.
